by Dionatan Simioni

Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco with four million...

Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco with four million residents, accounting for 11% of the entire country. Many officials report that these figure are underestimated and the total population is actually somewhere between 5 and 6 million. This recent surge has occurred because severe droughts have forced many Moroccans to move into urban areas to find new forms of work. The Cite Djemaa neighborhood, located in the southeast of the city, is seen here.

Neat Art Piece Hides Two Different Wire Sculptures Depending on Your Perspective

Here’s a fun art piece made by artist Matthieu Robert-Ortis: in one perspective, it looks like two giraffes standing opposite each other while in another, it looks like a single elephant staring straight at you. The piece plays on your perspective and hides two wire sculptures in one, what you see depends on which angle you’re looking at it.

An Inspiring Photographical Journey Through China

by Hoel

Land of Smiles is a quiet, surreal exploration of Thailand’s everyday architecture and landscapes.

I have spent a considerable amount of time in Thailand over the past five or so years (my wife is from Bangkok). Still, I remain an outsider and am fascinated by many aspects of the landscape that most Thais would never think twice about. The images featured here focus on the accidentally sculptural fluorescent bulb streetlights and nightscapes of rural Thailand.

Land of Smiles takes you on a walking tour in a dream-state. This is Thailand as few people will ever see it (especially in light of the political turmoil and chaos of the past decade).

did-you-kno: Redhawk realized his failing vision caused things...

did-you-kno:

Redhawk realized his failing vision caused things to morph, so he started to play with morphing software and thought, “What if I morphed an image onto itself?”

“It’s an artistic expression of the confusion I go through with my vision loss…

Not enough data getting sent to the brain, and it tries to fill in the blanks with false information, so you can’t trust what your eyes or brain are telling you.”

Jantar da Vingança by Reclame Aqui

by Nelson Junior

reclame

Me senti vingado.

Stitching together thousands of images, photographer Levon Biss produces huge and detailed photographs of tiny insects; prints of 10 mm bugs are 3 meters across. An exhibition of Biss' photos will be on display at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. All three images above are of the orchid cuckoo bee at different levels of zoom. This video shows how the photos are made:

After The Apocalypse: Emotionally Impacting Illustrations By Jonas De Ro

by dmitry

1

I recently discovered yet another amazing artist. His name is Jonas De RoThe. Jonas is currently living and working in London. He is a digital artist doing freelance and in-house concept art, design, and illustration for films and games. His tools of the trade are Photoshop, Sketchup, Wacom Intuos and his brain.

2

The emotional impact of his work is undesirable. As soon as I saw “A Place Called Home,” I stared at it holding my breath with my mouth wide open. I wanted to see more of Jonas’ work, which led me to his Deviant art profile. There I found an influx of illustrations ranging from mythical to apocalyptic.

3

To give you an idea of how talented he is, check out his previous clients: Square Enix, Warner Bros, Miramax, Perrier, Legendary Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Digital Tutors, Advanced Photoshop, Radical Studios, GREE, and many more.

4

His work left us amazed, and we only hope you will experience the same effect. If you wish to know more about Jonas or see more of his work, be sure to visit his website: Jonasdero.be. Without further ado, we hope you’ll be inspired by his incredible work.
