OK, Time To Break The Interwebs

THIS JUST IN from Dual Cuteporters Tracey M. and Erin D. This female pup (#681) was found September 30th, on Coastways Beach in Northern California between the San Mateo and Santa Cruz county line. WARNING: This is SO Cute- you should be sitting down. If you fall over from The Cute and smack yer head- not our fault. OK- proceed.

She is now at the Shedd Aquarium after a month-long stay at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Quoting ABC7, “On arrival at Monterey Bay Aquarium, ‘681’ weighed 1.0kg..”

“…which is tiny for a newborn sea otter, and she had been separated from mom for at least 16 hours,” said Karl Mayer, Animal Care Coordinator for the Sea Otter Program.

“This meant it was critical that we begin to get calories into her as quickly as possible.”

Shingeki no Bahamut es la mayor sorpresa de la temporada: una animación espectacular, una gran ambientación, buen argumento y ritmo trepidante. Debes ver este anime.

Es uno de los mejores animes de la temporada. Nadie se esperaba que un anime basado en un juego de cartas creado años atrás al estilo Yu-Gi-Oh! fuese a ser tan bueno y prometedor. La anime del manga sobre el juego, producida por el estudio de animación japonés MAPPA, se comenzó a emitir en Japón el 5 de octubre de 2014, por lo que estáis a tiempo de poneros al día y seguir el anime si no tenéis el placer de hacerlo ya. Te presento Shingeki no Bahamut (MyAnimeList).

Trama

Mistarcia es un mundo mágico donde los humanos, dioses y demonios conviven. En el pasado, el Bahamunt alado de negro y plata amenazó con destruir la tierra, pero los humanos, dioses y demonios superaron sus diferencias para luchar juntos contra tal amenaza y sellar por siempre su poder. La llave que lo selló se dividio en dos partes, la primera mitad fue entregada a los dioses y la otra mitad a los demonios, para que, con total seguridad, el Bahamunt no volviera a la vida.

Es la trama clásica de un Shōnen, pero su desarrollo es un soplo de aire fresco Ahora, dos mil años más tarde, el mundo está en paz, hasta que una joven robó la mitad de la llave de los dioses. La caza comienza por capturar a la ladrona y mantener el sello, mientras otros intentan conseguirla para romper el sello que liberase al terrible Bahamunt.

Este es el "plot" que dio la productora y que, a priori, me pareció que sería el mismo anime de fantasía aburrido y repetitivo de siempre. Nada más lejos de la realidad, este anime está hecho con mimo, con ideas geniales, un dibujo y animación top notch y una trama que engancha. Empecemos pasó a pasó y sin desvelar nada.

Personajes e historia

Reconozco que los personajes, en primera instancia no fueron totalmente de mi agrado. El personaje principal, Favaro, parecía el típico protagonista de anime, descuidado, "gracioso" y que en apariencia solo mira por si mismo.

En su primera aparición pelea junto Kaisar (uno de los co-protagonistas), tras salir huyendo de él, los dos a caballo por los tejados de la ciudad para ser, finalmente, pillado comiendo tranquilamente una manzana... Con esta escena de la persecución a caballo ya me tenía ganado el anime, lo reconozco, es sublime.

El personaje está haciendo muecas constantemente y mintiendo, además es tremendamente egoísta por lo que podemos observar en los primeros minutos de la serie. Kaisar parece un noble caballero más que un caza recompensas (ambos lo son), que por alguna razón, tiene una seria sed de venganza hacia Favaro, por lo que en todo el primer capítulo lo está persiguiendo, mientras Favaro con su astucia intenta evadir la confrontación armada.

Kaisar parece el típico protagonista cliché, pero enseguida despierta un carisma especial al televidente. Su pasado se va conociendo poco a poco, así como el porqué de sus ropajes y educación, y el apego por el personaje crece a cada minuto que pasa en la serie. Además, de cada escena suya podría hacerse un gif animado.

Amira es un demonio, o eso parece, la cual tiene la misión de encontrar a su madre que está en un recóndito lugar llamado Helheim. Amira es adorable y divertida, y en muchas escenas de la serie quedan resultados sus atributos personales, pese a que esté envuelta siempre en el profundo misterio por saber cuál es su origen y quién es en verdad. Los personajes en primera instancia pueden no atraer, parecen estar sujetos a demasiados clichés, pero en seguida se van transformando y nosotros vamos empatizando con ellos.

La historia, pese a que empieza como todas las historias clásicas de anime shonen, con una pobre chica perdida que busca a un chico fuerte y lleno de valor, pronto se va transformando en un anime con un gran ritmo y que da una frescura enorme al panorama de animación.

Los giros argumentales son muy grandes a lo largo de los primeros capítulos y van rompiendo todos y cada uno de los clichés con los que comienza. Los toques de humor son constantes, y a diferencia de muchos animes no son para nada forzados y están hechos con buen gusto.

El opening

No me podía olvidar de esto, el opening es genial. Heavy Metal y anime, hell yeah! Buena animación, heavy metal, y ritmo trepidante. La perfecta antesala al show de cada semana.

En definitiva, si eres aficionado al anime, o aunque todavía no lo seas, te animo a ver unos cuantos episodios de Shingeki no Bahamut. Es probable que te enganche desde el primero por su animación, argumento, ritmo y humor. Para los amantes de la ambientación de fantasía o medieval este anime es obligatorio.
