TOO MUCH CUTE CANNOT HANDLE THE CUTE

I once read that if you ask a guy what his favorite item of clothing is, he would pick the oldest thing he owns — some t-shirt he’s had since high school or nearly threadbare sweats. And if you ask a woman, she usually picks the last thing she bought. [Nobody mentioned four year-olds but obviously: fireman hat.] Gender stereotyping copy aside,* when it comes to recipes, this has me down to a T: my favorite thing to cook is usually the last thing I made. Because of this, I fail 100% of the time at “content-planning strategies” [or as it sounds in my head when I read phrases like this: blargle-blargle blargle] because while I’m supposed to be telling you about this great dish I made last week for Valentine’s, I only want to talk about what I made for dinner on Tuesday night. Because it’s my new favorite everything.

When I first read about stuck-pot rice many years ago, I guffawed a bit, because who needs a recipe for that? I come from a long line of cooks that cannot make rice without burning it; any night where rice is on the stove ends with a gunked-up pot soaking overnight in the sink. It’s tradition; one day I will teach this guy too!

Si estás interesado en aprender a programar Javascript, este divertido juego de mazmorras puede hacer que el aprendizaje sea mucho más entretenido y sencillo. Es un proyecto de código abierto, así que está en constante mejora.

En la actualidad, existen muchas plataformas online para aprender a programar, una habilidad que cada día es más necesaria y que muchos pensamos que debería enseñarse en las escuelas como un "lenguaje" más. Hoy os presentamos una alternativa diferente para aprender Javascript: Code Combat, un juego para navegador gratuito que hará el proceso mucho más ameno.

Como ya os hemos dicho en otras ocasiones, nunca es tarde (ni temprano) para aprender a programar. Existen muchísimas plataformas gratuitas o de pago para que puedas aprender un lenguaje sin moverte de casa, pero Code Combat deja de lado las medallas y ejercicios, siendo una manera más interactiva y entretenida.

Proyecto de código abierto y en constante mejora
En cada uno de los niveles debes programar para conseguir un objetivo específico: recoger una seta para crecer y matar un ogro gigante, mover a los soldados por la mazmorra, etc. Además, cada "lección" tiene un nivel de dificultad, de modo que iremos mejorando y haciendo misiones más complicadas a medida que vas aprendiendo.

Esto es sólo el principio, ya que el proyecto se hizo de código abierto recientemente y los programadores han contribuido reportando errores, añadiendo mejoras, etc. Yo lo he probado en Chrome y funciona perfectamente. Si tenéis interés por aprender a programar es una manera perfecta de iniciarse y divertirse al mismo tiempo.

Jane Goodall Institute’s Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of Congo found Wounda The Chimpanzee in 2012. She was very ill, and in fact her name in the Congo means “close to dying.” The rehab center nursed her back to a full recovery. (That’s Dr. Goodall in the green shirt.) Here’s when they release Wounda back into the wild.

Alright, today we’re going to turn our favorite capybara into, extra special capybara with toppings!

Let’s start with the perfect capybara. Then, we add a teaspoon of rattie for extra zing!

We’re gonna top that with a coating of monkersons, for extra warmth.

Next thing we do is add a dash of Mr. Beady Eyes. There it is!

Let’s see what else is on the shelf. Hmm, a leetle schmear of bunneh for texture.

Last but not least, we let it all simmer for a couple minutes.
