Existe em engenharia um conceito chamado KISS — Keep It Simple, Stupid. É legal, é uma espécie de Navalha de Occam do design de projetos: a melhor solução é sempre a mais simples. Infelizmente nem sempre é assim, e nem falo daquela história idiota de russos, americanos canetas e lápis.

No caso usar lápis não era a solução mais simples. Em outros casos complicamos por preguiça mental mesmo. Se alguém me pedisse pra projetar um sistema de monitoramento contínuo de cargas delicadas, detectando se elas haviam ultrapassado um determinado grau de inclinação, eu imaginaria algo envolvendo giroscópios, 3G, acelerômetros e terminaria com um iPhone ligado a um MMRTG.

Acima o sujeito resolveu com prástico.

A idéia é genialmente simples, de uso comum em ambiente industrial. Um dos vários produtos da Shock Watch, tem um custo absurdamente barato, US$ 2,30 por etiqueta. Também fazem monitores de temperatura, pressão, batidas…

Note que nenhum produto é à prova de falhas, e o entregador ESPERTÃO apertou a parte de cima das bolhas no plástico, impedindo que a bolinha indicadora se mova mesmo se a caixa for inclinada. Note também que essa é a primeira coisa que quem recebe o material percebe, e fiofós serão consumidos no processo.

Pilantragens à parte, isso é o mais bonito em inovação: você não precisa de um mega-power gadget cheio de circuitos e luzes piscando. Inteligência e criatividade, e você cria algo extremamente útil com papel e plástico.
