O Brasil está recebendo inúmeros torcedores estrangeiros durante a Copa do Mundo. Em sua grande maioria, homens. E, em tempos de ferramentas globalizadas como Tinder e Grindr, além do velho e bom tête-à-tête nos bares e pontos de encontros da cidade, as pessoas estão se encontrando, ficando, paquerando, namorando, beijando, curtindo e se divertindo.

Porém, a fiscalização em cima das mulheres, de seu comportamento e a reprodução de estereótipos tão bem conhecidos corre solta como bola em campo. Há quem reclame que as brasileiras agora só querem saber de gringos. Há quem reclame da objetificação que as mulheres tem feito dos jogadores. Há quem promova concurso na televisão para as brasileiras encontrarem o gringo dos sonhos. Há até brasileiro que finge ser gringo para ter mais chances no circuito da paquera. Enquanto isso, nas transmissões, a beleza das torcedoras segue sendo exaltada como um motivo a mais para assistir as partidas.

Então, a conclusão que chegamos ao ver esses fiscais da perseguida alheia é:

• Se você tá atrás de gringo que veio pra Copa pra casar com eles: puta.
• Se você tá atrás de gringo só pra se divertir: puta.
• Se você tá atrás de gringo pra prestar serviço sexual, porque esse é seu ganha-pão: puta.
• Se você pega o jogador de futebol (claro que é pelo dinheiro, imagina se pegaria um cara com essa cara se ele fosse o porteiro): puta.
• Se você pega o porteiro, o zelador, o motoboy: puta.
• Se você pega só patrão: puta.
• Se você pega geral, sem distinção de raça, renda, religião: muito puta.
• Se você gosta de sexo: puta.
• Se você gosta muito de sexo: muito puta.
• Se você não gosta de sexo, só da grana mesmo: puta também.

Ficamos impressionadas com quem ainda se incomoda com a opinião alheia já que, de um jeito ou de outro, todo mundo vira puta em alguma circunstância. Nas ruas, o assédio, seja de gringos ou de brasileiros, passa por beijos forçados e outros tipos de abusos.

É claro que não estamos nem aí para quem nos chama de puta, mas a questão é a maneira como isso é usado como ofensa e que a Luciana Nepomuceno explica tão bem:

Isso esclarecido, deixa eu dizer que me preocupa que você ache que chamar de puta é ofensivo. Me preocupa você achar que é xingamento. Me preocupa você achar que é pejorativo. Prostituta é uma mulher que ganha dinheiro oferecendo serviços sexuais. O que tem de pejorativo ou ofensivo nisso? As opções: a) Uma mulher fazer sexo? b) uma mulher ganhar dinheiro? c) uma mulher decidir sobre o corpo dela? d) ser mulher?

Me preocupa porque você usar puta como xingamento porque está implícito que mulher que faz sexo e/ou mulher que ganha dinheiro e/ou mulher que decide sobre sua vida e/ou simplesmente ser mulher é uma coisa ruim e que merece ser punida. Que merece o que lhe acontecer. Como, por exemplo, ser atacada. Ser alvo de violência, seja física ou psicológica. Que merece ser estuprada, violentada, espancada e tantas outras violências diárias que as mulheres costumam sofrer apenas porque existem. Apenas por serem. Referência: Puta, no Biscate Social Club.

Não deveria ser um problema que as mulheres estejam aproveitando esse período de Copa do Mundo para se divertirem de diversas formas, além de torcer por suas seleções. Mas sabemos que não é assim. Sabemos que a beleza das torcedoras, exaltada em quase todas as transmissões, por mais que existam inúmeras mulheres trabalhando na cobertura do evento, serve para nos lembrar que temos um lugar social: embelezar sem expressar opinião, sem permissão para agir ou reagir seguindo seus desejos.

Here’s where we left the American Gods TV show: HBO was going to do it but then didn’t, because reasons. FremantleMedia picked up the slack and started developing their own version, but with no network attached.

And here’s where are are now: Starz just picked up American Gods. Neil Gaiman will executive produce along with Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Hannibal) and Michael Green (Kings, Heroes), who are showrunning. Fuller will write the pilot.

Everything is beautiful and nothing hurts.

Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik promises “a series that honors the book and does right by the fans and viewers,” but of course he would say that. I’m more interested in what Gaiman, who wrote the book American Gods, has to say. And here he is:

“When you create something like American Gods, which attracts fans and obsessives and people who tattoo quotes from it on themselves or each other, and who all, tattooed or not, just care about it deeply, it’s really important to pick your team carefully: you don’t want to let the fans down, or the people who care and have been casting it online since the dawn of recorded history. What I love most about the team who I trust to take it out to the world, is that they are the same kind of fanatics that American Gods has attracted since the start. I haven’t actually checked Bryan Fuller or Michael Green for quote tattoos, but I would not be surprised if they have them. The people at Fremantle are the kinds of people who have copies of American Gods in the bottom of their backpacks after going around the world, and who press them on their friends. And the team at Starz have been quite certain that they wanted to give Shadow, Wednesday and Laura a home since they first heard that the book was out there.I can’t wait to see what they do to bring the story to the widest possible audience able to cope with it.”

“Neil Gaiman has created the holiest of holy toy boxes with American Gods and filled it with all manner of magical thing, born of new gods and old,” adds Fuller. “Michael Green and I are thrilled to crack this toy box wide open and unleash the fantastical titans of heaven and earth and Neil’s vividly prolific imagination.”

There is literally nothing about this that I don’t like. American Gods is a great book. Starz made Spartacus, so I am all about that. Green has extensive TV experience, ranging from Kings to Heroes to Smallville and the upcoming Gotham, and yeah, that record isn’t spotless, but: Bryan Fuller. I would lay down my life for Bryan Fuller. I would submit to cannibalism for Bryan Fuller. Really, the only thing I can say is:

Confession: I have an absolutely irrational and intense hatred for Daisy, so this video makes me feel happy despite claims that Daisy deserves better. Still, we've all been there, right? I reblog this every time it comes up on my dashboard, not because it is a “rule” but because every time I see it the love and sincerity on her face hit me all over again and I think everyone deserves to see that.

And THIS is why I adore Catherine Tate. She’s loud and brash but in quieter moments… her soul comes shining through and it makes everything about her so much more beautiful.
