Charles Tietjan posted a truly bizarre video of himself attaching Nerf suction cup darts to his eyeballs, hopefully while using contact lenses as a protective barrier. Tietjan then makes the darts dance around while he moves his eyes. This feat should probably not be attempted by anyone with darts of any kind, Nerf or otherwise.

The fossilized remains of Hallucigenia sparsa were so strange, that paleontologists originally mistook its tail for its head. Now, four decades after its discovery, a Cambridge University research team has corrected this error with an updated reconstruction (and for an ancient sea worm that featured a frightening row of spikes, it was surprisingly cute).

ISIS has minted its own currency

A series of photos showing gold coins embossed with designs are reportedly the Islamic State's newly minted currency, according to Syrian activists.

While the images have not been independently verified, they do match planned designs for currency that the group released last year. The photos were posted to the Twitter account of activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently. They show the coins with a map of the world and stalks of wheat.
