Durante los últimos meses una de las noticias que más se repite en los medios japoneses es el problema de la construcción del nuevo estadio olímpico para el 2020. Si se sigue el diseño original será el estadio más caro del mundo superando al de los New York Jets. Para mostrar que se lo están tomando en serio, el gobierno ha nombrado a Toshiaki Endo como “Ministro de las Olimpiadas” para encargarse de la preparación de las olimpiadas. También han propuesto diseños alternativos más baratos pero parece que todavía están indecisos, algo típico de la burocracia japonesa.

Aprovechando la indecisión, los frikis se han puesto manos a la obra creando un meme con el polémico diseño del estadio Olímpico.

You may sadly recall that Station Master Tama passed away on June 22nd. An estimated 3,000 people turned out for her Sunday Shinto-style funeral. Now C.O. reader Amy S. has alerted us to the fact that Tama has been granted the posthumous status of…Shinto Goddess.

Quoting The Guardian UK, “This is in keeping with the indigenous Japanese religion’s practice of honouring animal deities. She will be enshrined at a nearby shrine for cats in August, according to Mitsunobu Kojima, president of the Wakayama Electric Railway.”
