Nacho Punch has created “How to Speak Dothraki,” a funny parody that brings together HBO‘s popular TV series Game of Thrones and Muzzy, the BBC‘s language-learning system for kids from the 90s. They guarantee that “humans, giants, and even bastards” can easily learn Dothraki language.

Before Rosetta Stone, children relied on Muzzy, a lovable cartoon character who taught them how to speak in different languages. They included Dothraki, Valyrian, Hodor and White Walker.

so much i wanna say about this. sooooo much. i’ll try to be brief.

i hold doors. i hold doors regardless of gender. i also open car doors. if someone is getting in my car, i open the passenger door for them. end of story.

so yeah, all genders comment on the car door thing cuz it’s a courtesy that just doesn’t exist in our culture for the most part. i get that, i’m weird. i still do it.

but the building door thing…. yeah, i sorta love seeing the dynamic that occurs with that when folks don’t realize… i open fucking doors.

think about it. it’s me and a group of say 5 guys, heading back from some meeting. i’m the first one to the door to our building and i open it and stand back, letting others pass first.

if you work with me, you expect this. if you don’t, you sorta do this weird waltz-like dance trying to figure out how to get the “lady” to let go of the door so you can be the “guy”.

yeah… um, no.

cuz fuck that shit. i am not going to stand around waiting for a door to be opened. and i am certainly not going to be rude about opening doors for others. so get the hell over it.

men openly speak to me about this, which i appreciate, because i like the dialogue and the chance to change minds. it’s a good thing.

we’re all held to these weird, impossible standards of binary gender. let’s work together to undo that. let’s realize it’s all ok.
