by Edgar Alvarez
Cooper Griggs

Like a giant baseball bat attached to a ball. With all the crap shooting around us in orbit, how will this thing deal with the "bullets"?

Who does want to go to space? No less, in an elevator. While NASA's been working hard for years trying to find the necessary tools to do just that, other firms are doing the same across different parts of the world. Japanese construction company...

Mono Monday: In No Particular Order

by Matthew Roth
Cooper Griggs

good stuff

A ray of sun lighting the way; a phrase caught on the lips like a whistle; a leap of aggressive glee; a glance from the shadows; and a young face pressed against the glass. These and others have enthralled us this week for Mono Monday. We wish you all great adventures in photography today, tomorrow, and the next.

Anyone watch the show Silicon Valley?

The first trio of companies looking to test self-driving cars on California's public roads got newly required permits from the state's Department of Motor Vehicles last week. Google nabbed paperwork for taking a fleet of 25 Lexus SUVs to the streets,...

Whatever Apple has in the works for its future audio offerings, it may not include keeping Beats Music in app stores. TechCrunch reports that Apple plans to shut down the music streaming service, noting that CEO Ian Rogers has already been tasked...

Early last month, Spanish artist Pejac (previously) created a fun silhouette artwork commemorating the 40th anniversary of French high-wire walker Philippe Petit’s daring walk between the Twin Towers in New York. In Pejac’s version, a tightrope walker painted in black acrylic on an interior window is shown walking along an airplane contrail several miles away in the sky. The fun optical illusion caught the attention of Sasha Bogojev over at Hi-Fructose who discovered the artist has been creating similar silhouette artworks since 2011. Seen here are a few of our favorites. Photos by Paco Esteve and Silvia Guinovart courtesy the artist. (via Hi-Fructose)
