Sleep in the Trees Inside a Portable Suspended Treehouse by Tentsile
Cooper GriggsOMG OMG OMG this looks SOOOOOOO awesome!!!!
Created by UK inventor Alex Shirley-Smith, Tentsile is an ingenious portable suspended treehouse that installs much like a hammock while offering the convenience of a multi-person tent. Simply locate any three anchor points and install the tent above ground where you’re immediately clear of threats from rain and a plethora of ground-based creepy crawly things.
The Tentsile system was first conceived by Shirley-Smith in 2010 and after an early concept went absurdly viral around the web in 2012 the company hired another designer, Kirk Kirchev. The team worked through a series of 14 prototypes before finally releasing their first production model, the Tentsile Stingray, at the end of last year. You can learn more about this backpackable treehouse over on their website. (via My Modern Met, This Isn’t Happiness)

The Poster Child For Unreasonableness, Part 2
(This customer has spent 10 minutes complaining about minor things from her recent cruise from the weather to the color of the carpet.)
Customer: “Also, every night at dinner the unruly children we sat with would cry, whine, and pitch a fit. It wasn’t the upscale experience we expected and ruined our entire cruise.”
Me: “I’m sorry to hear that. As you are traveling again this year, I can certainly have a bottle of wine sent to your room for the inconvenience.”
Customer: “I hope you’ll do the same for my sister and her family. She always travels with us, so it would only be fair.
Me: *pulls up reservation* “I see you were scheduled to sit with her and her three children on the last cruise. Did they not accommodate you to dine together?”
Customer: “Oh, yes. We had a table of six.”
Me: “… So the unruly children?”
Customer: “Her bratty kids should never have been allowed in the dining room!”

Stitched Leaves by Hillary Fayle
I’m really enjoying these stitched leaved by artist Hillary Fayle who is currently working on a MFA in Craft/Material studies at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. We’ve seen many different artists working with leaf cuttings (which Fayle does as well), but this aspect of suspended embroidery is pretty special. You can see more examples on her website, and custom pieces are available on request. Photos by Natalie Hofert Photography. (via Lustik)
