Nervios.
We drew up a basically square floor plan, which we then divided into squares like a hashtag. The center square carried the other eight. The layout had five apartments wrapped around this central core, with balconies in all four directions. There are ten similar but varied stories crowned by a rooftop villa for Niklas.
Through the book ‘Before They Pass Away’, Jimmy Nelson (previously), a British photographer, invites you to save a part of our world’s precious heritage: Tribes. ‘Before They Pass Away’ could be described as a journey through 464 pages of portraits of people who are the guardians of a culture that they hope will be passed on to future generations in all its glory. It is a visual document about the lives and traditions of the last surviving tribes on earth.
Located in Fitzroy North, Cubo House by PHOOEY Architectscomprises alterations and additions to an existing double storey heritage-listed dwelling. The small & dysfunctional rear portion of the existing house has been demolished & replaced with a new contemporary and sustainable three storey house (including basement).
The project applies the surrealist technique of “Cubomania” to catalogue, re-use & re-invent the demolished building materials. Embodied energy was minimised by balancing the quantity of demolished materials against the quantity of materials brought in to replace them.

Photographer Erik Scraggs was at the event when he managed to capture the extraordinary moment. He said he never thought the stag would “try and leap over the cyclists”.
“As I was standing waiting for a group of cyclists to approach, I heard a rustling behind me and I turned to see a couple of stags running parallel to the road,” he told the BBC.

NESTLED deep in the Andes, the former Inca capital city of Cusco stands at 11,152 feet (3,399 m) above sea level. It is a destination for tourists from around the world who ascend the treacherous mountainside roads to make their pilgrimage to one of the modern wonders of the world, Machu Picchu. While it is best known for its proximity to the ancient city, there is a wealth of other sites in and around Cusco that still have intact remnants of the region’s Inca past.
