Kayaker blessed by a seal, slapped in the face with an octopus
A man kayaking off the coast of New Zealand’s South Island was clobbered in the face with an airborne octopus unleashed by a seal, Yahoo7 News reports. But here’s the best part: the entire inter-species aquatic slap fight was caught on camera, so you can watch it as many times as you need to get through the day.
The video shows the seal rearing up out of the water with the octopus clutched in its mouth, and flinging it at kayaker Kyle Mulinder. Mulinder’s Instagram bio says he’s a GoPro content creator, and he told Yahoo7 News: “My face happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.” Fellow kayaker Taiyo Masuda, who also describes himself as part of the GoPro family, says in the video’s description that he shot the scuffle on the...

This Organic Desert House in Joshua Tree, CA is at One With Its Environment
Architect: Kendrick Bangs Kellogg | Interior: John Vugrin | Photography: Lance Gerber
Long considered one of the pioneers of organic architecture in the United States, Kendrick Bangs Kellogg’s ‘Desert House’ is often cited as one of the preeminent examples.
Situated on 10 rocky acres near Joshua Tree National Park—the 4,643 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home was completed in 1993 while interior designer and long time collaborator John Vurgin, continued on the project well into the 2000s.
Owners Bev and Jay Doolittle gave Kellogg carte blanche to do what he wanted with the property and Desert House was the result. After completion, the couple lived there for over a decade until they decided to downsize, listing the property with TTK Represents back in 2014 for $3 million. The property has since sold (amount unknown) but these beautiful pictures by Lance Gerber live on.

Galician Waterfall
This is a little waterfall hidden amongst the windy roads of Galicia, North Spain, named Mazo De Meredo. Despite visiting in July, there was not one other person here so it was perfect for getting some long exposure shots. The sounds of running water and nature in the surrounding woods was amazing.
