Navdy, A Head-Up Display That Lets Drivers Use Navigation and Their Phone Without Taking Their Eyes off the Road
Navdy is a head-up display (HUD) that allows drivers to use turn-by-turn navigation, make calls, and use smartphone apps, all without taking their eyes off the road. The Navdy display mounts atop the driver’s side dashboard and projects an image on a 5.1-inch transparent display. The driver interacts with Navdy through voice and gesture commands. Adam Lisagor (aka Lonely Sandwich) demonstrates the features of Navdy in this entertaining product demonstration video. Navdy is currently available for pre-order, and is scheduled to ship in early 2015.

People Making Music with Broken Plumbing
Here’s two amazing videos of musicians realizing the air pressure from their faulty plumbing makes for a great music. The violinist from the first video us from the Altra Volta Quartet in Poland, and the video of the guitarist appears to be uncredited. Nikola Lenivets
Nikola Lenivets
As part of the New Media Night Festival last month at Moscow’s Nikola-Lenivets Art Park, one of the most unusual video-mapping projects we’ve seen took place against the backdrop of Nikolay Polissky’s (previously) brain-like Universe Mind structure. The twisting, serpentine building has been used for years as a centerpiece to many events at the art park which now boasts a collection of almost 30 architecturally-influenced artworks, including a 170-foot trampoline installed in the middle of a forest.
For this year’s New Media Night Festival, media design studio Radugadesign was comissioned to set ‘Universe Mind’ in motion with this 8-minute video projection. If you’d like to get a feel for what it’s like to step inside the building under normal circumstances, check out this interactive 360° panorama. (via The Creator’s Project)

Artist Erdal Enci Clones Himself to Create Elaborate Choreographed GIFs
It’s been over a year since we last checked in with video artist Erdal Inci (previously) who clones multiple recordings of himself moving through public spaces resulting in these bizarre looping performances. Inci often carries lights or other objects which lend a sense of choreography to each video, and at times the exposure eliminates him from the scene or makes him appear shadowlike in the background. Here are a few of our favorites over the last few months but you can see more on his website and at a higher resolution on Vimeo. (via iGNANT)

This Hotel Fines Wedding Parties $500 for Each Negative Yelp Review
Union Street Guest House, a boutique hotel in New York's Hudson River Valley, is experiencing a sudden rise to infamy after attempting to fine a wedding party $500 for each negative review posted online by its guests. The New York Post's Page Six had the scoop on the inn's less-than-hospitable policies this morning:
Please know that despite the fact that wedding couples love Hudson and our inn, your friends and families may not. ... If you have booked the inn for a wedding or other type of event ... and given us a deposit of any kind ... there will be a $500 fine that will be deducted from your deposit for every negative review ... placed on any internet site by anyone in your party.
The relevant section of the hotel's terms and conditions appears to have since been removed. Union Street Guest House could not be reached for comment.
Unsurprisingly, the Yelp page for Union Street Guest House is now inundated with outraged, one-star reviews.
