In this fourth and final episode of AT&True Detective (previous episodes here), impressionist Ross Marquand goes for broke, brilliantly channeling an extremely tormented Rustin Cohle from HBO’s True Detective asking a group of children about the pivotal “Spaghetti Monster” drawing.

First Little Girl: Maybe he was making spaghetti and the spaghetti had pesto sauce in it and the spaghetti got too hot and it blew up in his face. Rust Cohle: You remind me of my daughter (breaks down crying). Second Little Girl: Can we go now mister?

In tribute to “4’33″,” the classic silent song by avant-garde composer John Cage, Brooklyn-based graphic designer Adam Lucas has created “Cage Does Cage,” four minutes and 33 seconds of silent mugging from National Treasure star Nicolas Cage. The 2012 video is built from clips culled from across Nicolas Cage’s career in which the actor doesn’t utter a single word.

French photographer Olivier Grunewald captured these stunning photos of blue flames emanating from the Kawah Ijen volcano in Indonesia. The striking phenomena is caused by molten sulfur, which is emitted from the volcano in vast quantities, and ignites when exposed to air.

Audio visual remix collective Eclectic Method celebrates the 4/20 holiday with their “420 Mix,” a video remix that catalogs memeorable marijuana references in popular films. Set to a sample of Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man,” the video features clips from Half Baked, Friday and The Big Lebowski, along with appearances from Snoop Dog, Richard Nixon and South Park thrown in for good measure.

French graphic designer Kadavre Exquis, who created the live visuals for the recent Skrillex tour, directed an animated music video for “The Lava” by Parisian electronic group Equateur. The video features a robot journeying to the center of a volcanic structure in search of a humanoid target. Exquis has also posted the storyboards that were used in creating the video.

Taken from their 1995 TVT album Telecommunications Breakdown, “Electronic Behavior Control System” is a prime example of the work by 1990s Rhode Island School of Design video remix artists Emergency Broadcast Network. Featuring iconic 1990s clips of Bill Clinton, Ted Koppel and Ross Perot, the video is one of a many that have been archived on EBN’s YouTube account.

Animation Domination High Def has created “Scientifically Accurate SpongeBob SquarePants,” a new animated short imagining how SpongeBob SquarePants‘ underwater world of fun and friends might be in the real world. We’ve previously written about ADHD’s ongoing scientifically accurate web series.

Spongebob’s show would be a lot less exciting if it took place in the real, scientific world. The ocean is a weird place, full of strange creatures and James Cameron.

Veritasium host Derek Muller gets a good look at the Pyro Board created by YouTube channel Fysikshow. Pyro Board is essentially a 2D version of a Rubens’ tube, a physics demonstration of standing waves using flammable gas.

The pressure variations due to the sound waves affect the flow rate of flammable gas from the holes in the Pyro Board and therefore affect the height and colour of flames. This is interesting for visualizing standing wave patterns and simply awesome to watch when put to music.

Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju), leader of a group of wildlings on HBO‘s Game of Thrones, takes some time out of his busy schedule to show us how to properly grow and shave a beard.

The best thing about the Screen Junkies’ Honest Trailers are that the crew behind them actually like the movies they’re parodying. Their latest endeavor, The Wolf of Wall Street, shows plenty of reverence for director Martin Scorsese‘s hilarious yet disturbing story of excess. It points out much of what’s great about the movie while also poking fun at its pop culture relevance. It highlights co-star Matthew McConaughey beating Leonardo DiCaprio for the Oscar, the debut of Jonah Hill‘s penis, Scorsese’s love of DiCaprio, and how some audiences totally missed the point of the movie. Directed by local producer Hussam Maatouk and shot by San Diego photographer Michael Shainblum, “Welcome to Doha” is a time-lapse exploration of Doha, Qatar’s capital and largest city. The video crams a lot of different views of Doha into four minutes, featuring construction, factories and breathtaking shots of its downtown area, showing the rapid growth of Qatar’s economic center.
