French freediver David Helder has been diving for over 35 years, and somewhere along the way he discovered a strange ability. Like a dolphin, Helder can blow perfectly controlled bubble rings underwater. While many divers have playfully experimented with blowing these whirling vortexes, Helder has dedicated significant time to perfecting the technique which he uses to perform dozens of different tricks. Watch the video to see him in action, thing get really interesting around the 2:40 mark. (via Sploid)
As the houses of Westeros war, they haven’t forgotten the importance of sports. Since the Football/Soccer world cup is the flavor of sports for the moment, it is absolutely necessary the houses and characters from Game of Thrones get uniforms to play the game. This begs the question, that if the teams and houses represented […]
Over the past few months the folks at CineFix have been putting together 8-bit versions of popular films like Iron Man 3, Forrest Gump and Donnie Darko. Their latest is an 8-bit Kill Bill video, and I have to say that it’s pretty impressive. I wish the game actually existed!

Here’s some cool news for J.R.R. Tolkien fans. A recording of Tolkien from a “Hobbit Dinner” he attended in the Netherlands in 1958 has just resurfaced.
Jay Johnstone, co-founder of Legendarium at mymiddleearth.com, discovered the tape’s existence and that it was in the possession of Tolkien fan René van Rossenberg, who owns a Lord of the Rings shop. I don’t doubt there were riddles told and the words “my precious” were used because von Rossberg is allowing the tape to be remastered and we’ll all get to hear it later this year.
The tape contains a recording of Tolkien explaining the meaning of The Lord Of The Rings, reciting a poem in Elvish, and more. Thankfully a preview is avaialble in the video after the break…
If you want more info, you can can sign up for news on the recording’s release.
Game of Thrones is a ridiculously complicated show. Explaining it all to someone could easily take hours and would likely require the help of some flowcharts and family trees and maybe even a Powerpoint presentation, unless you’re Peter Dinklage. In this interview during the press junket for X-Men: Days of Future Past, Dinklage is asked to sum it all up in less than a minute, and he actually pulls it off.

It’s a question we’ve all pondered on numerous occasions right? Why DO cats paint? The ‘theory of feline aesthetics’ will allegedly answer all your questions about pussycats and Picasso. If you feel like being a pyromaniac and setting the world on fire, there’s a handy practical guide available. Of course playing with fire could lead to some dangerous scenarios and maybe even death – which isn’t ideal in anyones book.
Thankfully though if you’re worried about your funeral bills impacting your family, there’s a helpful manual to actually building your own fancy coffin. And you know what happens once your inside the coffin and shuffled off your mortal coil? That’s right, sex in the afterlife!
But perhaps the greatest find amongst these terrible books is one called ‘Eating people is wrong’. You have to question who on earth that particular literary gem was designed for, infamous serial killer Ted Bundy perhaps?
Do let us know your favs and if this list isn’t enough, you’ll find a few more classics right here

Whilst the future of warfare will involve nanotechnology and drones battling it out in midair, there was a time when wartime technology wasn’t automated. Guns had to be reloaded manually, planes didn’t have autopilot and soldiers had to use binoculars and a compass instead of the ubiquitous GPS.
Throughout the history of war, countries have invested billions of dollars in developing technologies designed to outsmart and give them an advantage over their enemies. One of those experimental technologies was the HZ-1 Aerocycle which was an amphibious craft that could carry one man some 150 miles without refueling. It’s wasn’t quite the flying machine which the Germans envisaged in 1900 mind you.
Its main purpose was to give infantrymen greater mobility in the battlefield. It was fast too, reaching speeds up to 65 mph and apparently only took around 20 minutes for you to learn how to fly it. The principles of manoeuvring the craft were akin to riding a bicycle of surfboard, whereby the driver shifted their weight and used their natural reflexes to control and direct the craft. A technique that’s commonly known as ‘Kinesthetic control’.
It proved a difficult concept for people to grasp. The alleged ’20 minute learning time’ was a blessing as much as a curse, the US Army abruptly shut down the project after numerous crashes. The aircraft was deemed too dangerous for inexperienced pilots to fly and whilst those with experience were tasked with dropping bombs from above instead.
A classic case of a great idea but always doomed to fail due to poor execution.

So how do the Japanese pass the time when they aren’t cloning themselves, creating ridiculous inventions, dreaming up quirky mascots, taking gym classes hosted by poodle dogs, watching candy coated pop stars or wearing panties on over their faces?
That’s right! They’re lining up to be willing contestants on some of the mind-boggling TV game shows you’ve ever witnessed.
Now we ‘could’ try and attempt to describe what is taking place in the following collection of GIFs from numerous Japanese game shows, but really they defy explanation. Literally anything and everything happens, with no disturbing corner of the writers imaginations left unturned.
There’s the famous saying that “One man’s trash is another mans treasure” or in the case of cheap Japanese entertainment, one man’s hellish challenge is another man’s gleeful celebration.
Prepare yourself for the weird, the bizarre and a whole lot of W.T.F. Do let us know which numbers you love the most.

Despite the most expensive treatments, face-lifts and cosmetic surgery, even celebrities can’t avoid the effect of ageing (unless your name is Keanu Reeves).
Thanks to the wonders of Photoshop, we’re able to show you the likes Christina Aguilera, Drew Barrymore, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Robert Pattinson, Bryan Cranston and Keanu Reeves of side by side next to younger versions of themselves. Some have noticeably aged, some haven’t at all.
By and large, they’re all looking a lot better now than when they were first taking those innocent steps onto the red carpet all those years ago.
Which do you think looks the best these days?

Cute minions from Despicable Me have quite the setting for imagination. In this set, we see them dressed as various characters from popular culture. Seeing this, we’re pretty sure the minions could easily pull off any look. The images are all submissions to a Minion Contest held by CG Meetup.

If you’re an actor on set with hundreds of production staff scattering around constantly being yelled direction and with the added the pressure of deadlines and expectations of nailing that first take, it’s no wonder it can get a little overwhelming and stressful at times. That’s why even some of the biggest names break character and blow off some steam. Sometimes you make so many mistakes or things go do badly wrong that you just have to laugh at the absudiry of the situation.Even Hollywood with all its millions needs a bit of respite from it all.
In these rarely seen photos take on the set of some of the most popular films over the past few decades, thats exactly what happens.
No matter how focused you are, how serious the scene – occasionally you can’t help but get a case of the giggles.

Probably the most beautiful time-lapse video I’ve seen featuring the city of Dubai, and there are plenty out there.
Whether you were a fan back in the 80′s and 90′s when ‘Hulkamaina was runnin’ wild brutha!’ or if you tuned in start the start of the millennium, it’s fair to say you were witness to some of the most amusing pantomime and comedy sketches in living memory. The ratings wars between WWF (which became WWE), WCW and ECW played out night after night as headline matches jostled for the biggest audiences. In short, at it’s peak – the sport was almost universally loved.
If we talked about all the characters (many of them now sadly deceased) like Andre The Giant, Macho Man Randy Savage, British Bulldog, The Big Boss Man, Legion Of Doom and Ultimate Warrior through to stalwarts and big hitters like The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and more recently John Cena – we would be here all day. Now that UFC is the fighting sport of choice, viewership and the swell of public support for wrestling has dwindled somewhat, what hasn’t changed is just how downright fun it all is.
Here’s 14 ridiculously amusing GIFs featuring some of the most memorable moments in the sport.
