The Silver Case (Grasshoper - PSX - 1999)
This was the first game released by Grasshopper Manufacturer, the company Goichi Suda founded after leaving Human Entertainment.
from wikipedia: “In 1999, there exists an area called the “24 Districts”. A series of mysterious and bizarre murders have happened there. Detectives of the High-degree Murder Division (HMD) in the 24 Districts Police Department investigate the case and find that they closely match the profile of a well-known killer, Kamui Uehara, who assassinated many key government figures one after another several years ago. Uehara was supposedly shot and killed by Kusabi, a veteran detective of the HMD, but current events seem to indicate that Uehara is still alive, and at large in the 24 Districts. Has the deadly assassin returned to life?”

Ludicrous $1 million 'Saints Row IV' special edition includes Lamborghini, plastic surgery, and trip to space
Limited and "special" edition video games have long been a popular way to pump more money out of fans, but developer Deep Silver is now taking that concept to its ludicrous extreme. The company just announced a $1 million Saints Row IV "super dangerous wad wad edition," of which only one copy is available. For that insane amount of money, you'll get the expected special edition of the game and some pretty extravagant extras — including a trip into space on the Virgin Galactic, a "full day of spy training," plastic surgery of your choice, a Lamborghini Gallarado, a seven-night stay at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington, DC, and more. There's even a "hostage rescue experience" — though we're not sure if you're being rescued or doing the rescuing.
It's a ridiculous package, but we have to give Deep Silver credit — it's equal parts marketing and mockery of special edition games. The only way to buy the super dangerous edition is through Game.co.uk, and any insanely rich buyer must take exactly what Deep Silver is offering, with no substitutions or cash equivalents. While it almost feels more like a joke than something you can actually buy, we'll have to wait and see if anyone opens up their wallet to be sure.
The full list of bonuses in the Saints Row IV Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition are below:
- Saints Row IV: Commander in Chief Edition
- A full sized replica Dubstep Gun
- A full day of spy training
- A trip to space with Virgin Galactic One year’s membership of E25 Super Car Club and a Lamborghini Gallardo to make it worthwhile
- Plastic Surgery of the purchaser’s choice
- A shopping spree with a personal shopper to create the ultimate Planet Saints capsule wardrobe
- 7 nights for two at The Jefferson Hotel in Washington
- Hostage rescue experience A brand new Toyota Prius and insurance to give something back to the environment
- 7 nights stay in the Top Royal Suite at the Burj-al-arab with flights for two
RI official discussed private funding for 38 Studios
By Dave Tach on Aug 10, 2013 at 2:00p
A member of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation discussed obtaining private funding for 38 Studios after the state approved a $75 million loan guarantee, the Associated Press reports.
Former EDC deputy director J. Michael Saul's emails were released this week as part of an investigation of the state's investment into the bankrupt studio. One of Saul's emails was written a day after the $75 million loan guarantee was approved. An email to a Bank of America executive revealed that another financial institution was considering an additional $25 million loan for the developer.
"I'm confused as to why they were looking for a bank," said Rep. Michael Marcello, chairman of Rhode Island's House Oversight Committee.
The EDC is suing Schilling, Saul and others involved in the deal that provided 38 Studios with the loan guarantee, claiming that the organization was mislead. Given that 38 Studios eventually declared bankruptcy, Saul's emails about private funding could potentially call into question what he and others may have known but didn't disclose about the deal.
Saul stepped down from his EDC position in 2011, according to Providence Business News. You can learn more about 38 Studios' fall in Polygon's StoryStream.

Apple Developer Center lives again; company offers extra month of membership
After dealing with various outages for more than three weeks, Apple finally announced any developer services still down at its Developer Center are running again. And for users' trouble, Apple is extending every membership by one month.
The downtime came after an "intruder" accessed the development site's servers on July 18. Apple acknowledged the issue on July 21 and at the time could not "rule out the possibility that some developers’ names, mailing addresses, and/or e-mail addresses may have been accessed." That notice led to an anecdotal spike in password reset requests for Apple IDs, though the company told MacWorld that the system in question was not used to store "customer information," application code, or data stored by applications.
Apple slowly began restoring many of the offline services, and last week developers could access iOS and OS X betas, view prerelease documentation, download certificates, and watch videos from Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) sessions without worry. Apple sent out a status update on the remaining services on August 5, hoping "to reinstate most of the remaining services this week: Xcode automatic configuration as well as access to license agreements, TSIs, program enrollments, and renewals in Member Center."
