Thurston Moore's Crash Course in Poetry
FranciscasilvaesousaVera MARMELLINI na Dazed <3
Huzaah for Thurston Moore: as well as being a fully paid-up linchpin of one of the greatest cleverclogs rock bands ever, the Sonic Youth frontdude is also a staunch and proactive promoter, editor, publisher, reader, writer and performer of poetry. He's been quietly producing and publishing his own verse for the last three decades, and his insatiable enthusiasm for the form led him to found the brilliant Flowers & Cream Press – an indie publisher that puts out devilishly handsome limited editions of

Back in Stockholm.. And as July rolls on there’s still plenty of time for summery dresses, the smell of blossoming citrus trees and sour lemonade in the hot hours of the day. I would go for just about any dress by Reformation in the meanwhile, but this one would perhaps be a favorite (if I had to choose I mean!).
Chloe Nørgaard, Model
"I grew up on Long Island, but I was born in California. Because of my name, a lot of people think I’m Scandinavian. I’m actually half Scandinavian—my dad is Danish.
I’ve been dyeing my hair like this for almost a year and a half. I used to dye it all different colors in high school, but I went blonde when I started modeling. Then, all of a sudden, I got really sick of the industry and everything. I was like, ‘OK, I’m going to be myself,’ and I dyed my hair blue. At first people were freaked out, but now they’re open to it, and I have fun with it. I change it a lot.
Right now it’s sort of like 'fire,' which I did myself three weeks ago—I always dye my hair myself. The yellow is Manic Panic Electric Banana. The orange is some weird brand, and the red is Beyond the Zone. I just get gloves and get really messy. It’s like painting. I’ve fucked up so many towels and bathrooms. When I go to the beauty-supply store to shop for dye, I decide based on the colors available, not the brand. But I do like Manic Panic—some of their colors, like this yellow, glow in black lights. So when you’re out at night, your head is literally glowing, which is amazing.
My hair is naturally dark, so I bleach it before I dye it whatever color I want it to be, leaving the bleach in for a good while. Depending on the color I'm going for, I'll sometimes bleach it twice. For example, if I am going to cover it with orange and red, it doesn’t matter if I only bleach it once and have a brassy base. But, say I’m dying it blue or purple, I have to make my hair whiter first.
I don't really have any secrets to keeping it healthy—I always condition my hair with thick, leave-in conditioners, but I don’t have a particular brand I like. Sometimes I sleep with them in overnight. And I only wash it, at most, three times a week, because if you wash it everyday, your hair’s going to be screwed."

Lazy Fest Competition: The Winners
With more festivals this summer than weekends, it’s hard to choose what one to go to. That’s why last week we set all of your the challenge to describe your dream festival to be in with a chance of winning a selection of Lazy Oaf festival essentials and extra goodies from JuJu Footwear and Anorak.
We had an overwhelming response with over 500 entries dreaming up their perfect festival food, line ups, sleeping arrangements and activities including an unexpected amount of unicorns. After much deliberation across the office we have picked our winners based on whose festivals we would most like to attend.
There were two prizes, one for girls and one for boys, drum roll please…..
Our winning answer for the girls festival essentials comes from Hajrije:
“Nicholas Cage hosts the festival in a red velour robe and sparkly loafers. Away from the hypnotic tunes of MIA, Die Antwoord, and Death Grips is an open petting zoo bursting with slothy sloths, fuzzy chinchillas, and star-nosed moles. Menu? Oozing pineapple pizza. Remember, BYOG: bring your own giraffe.”
Hajrije wins our Blobby Square Rucksack, Bat Pink Quay Sunglasses, Weird Temporary Tattoos, Purrfect Shorts, JuJu Pink Vintage Wellies & Oh Boy Slob T-shirt.
The winning answer for the boys festival essentials comes from Tom Taylor:
“Macaulay Culkin would hand out pizza, Wednesday Addams would hold a séance and tonnes of Furby’s would be thrown into the audience.”
Tom wins an Anorak Kissing Stag Sleeping Bag, Wormz T-shirt, Slime Shorts, Slime Tattoos & Handle Dis Rucksack Khaki.
Congratulations you two and a big thank you to all of you who entered, we had too much fun reading your answers.
Troy + Abed (Community)
THE BEST.

Damon + Alaric (The Vampire Diaries)
Schmidt and Nick 4ever.
A melhor parte do The O.C. sempre foi, enquanto personagem individual, o Seth. Mas nada batia Seth and Ryan time.
Seth: At least I leave you funnier than when I found you.
Ryan: A lot better off than when you found me.
Seth: Me too.
Para Max, o Brad é o seu Murtaugh, e para o Brad, o Max é o seu Riggs: “I love you the most, man. Bring it in.”
- Maria
What was the Hipster? A Sociological Investigation, n+1
Este “What was the hipster?“ foi um desses casos. - Maria
Oishinbo - Fish, Sushi & Sashimi, Tetsu Kariya & Akira Hanasaki
- Maria

Your Horoscope For This Week
Franciscasilvaesousada-se!
Revolutionary Uranus makes a U-turn this Wednesday, turning retrograde in Aries until December 16. Deep-dive into one of your most innovative ideas, researching its potential, and strengthening your game plan. While it may take until holiday time to launch this brainchild, the behind-the-scenes work you begin this week could yield epic results. Communicator Mercury ends a three-week retrograde on Friday, however, restoring harmony to your home life. Phew!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
This is so not the week to insert yourself in other people’s drama, even if you believe that you can help. Detach and let them hash it out on their own. This is more complicated that your cursory assessment reveals. With Mercury waking up from a three-week retrograde on the 19, turn your energy to new friends and networking with people who can help boost your cachet.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Geek out, Gemini, as gearhead Uranus starts a five-month backspin through your technology house. Whether you’re sharpening your social-media know-how, learning more than the mere basics of blog-building, producing online content, or mastering new software, your income will grow in direct proportion to your burgeoning skills. Mercury turns direct on the 19, finally clearing up a mysterious money situation. News about a job could come by next week.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Remix! Expressive Mercury resumes forward motion on the 19 after retrograding through Cancer since June 26. Maybe you put your foot in your mouth or sat in stoic observation, while, inside, you were bubbling over with brilliant ideas. It’s never too late to switch up your game, letting people in on the fabulosity you’ve kept under wraps. Certainly, your bold assertions may shock this week, but at the moment, that’s the best way to get people’s attention.
Leo (July 23-August 22)
Playing with fire is a tempting idea but before you stick your hands in those flames, make sure you know what you’re really messing around with. Some information will be obscured this week and acting in haste could really burn you. On Friday, Mercury powers forward after a three-week nap, giving you the green light to exit (or take a long sabbatical from) a stale and emotionally draining situation. Onward!
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
It’s time to pay the piper, Virgo, which will bring you peace of mind. Spend the week clearing up IOUs and getting installment plans in place for any lingering debt. An old love could return to your life after the 17. The chemistry is as insane as it ever was, but if any sneaking around is involved, steer clear.
Libra (September 23-October 22)
Your liberation front could be met with opposition this week. Question: Is there a double standard in place? If you want your freedom, you have to grant others the same right. Being possessive one minute and pushing people away the next could lead to animosity. What’s it gonna be, Libra? It’s time to choose. A brewing career crisis clears up after Friday when Mercury turns direct. Roll up your sleeves and get back to work.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
Back up your words with action this week. People need to see tangible proof that you can really pull off all your grand promises. And, if you can’t? Call a summit to devise a Plan B. Better to be authentic about your limitations than to fake it until you (don’t quite) make it. PS: A pared-down plan could actually hit the jackpot.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
Reminder: Fame for fame’s sake is not the end goal, Sagittarius. You want to be known for putting something memorable and high quality into the world. Over the next five months, innovative Uranus helps you deepen your knowledge and draft a tighter blueprint. On the romance front, you could kick an errant lover to the curb after the 19, replacing him or her with a real-deal romantic.
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
Mi casa es su casa? We thinketh not, Capricorn. With cranky Uranus spinning backward through your home sector from the 17 until mid-December, you’ll need more rules and regulations regarding your nest. Evict a slacker roomie, move to a quieter unit in your building, or set some clear ground rules with an incendiary person living under your roof. Bottom line: You need to feel at home at Chateau Capricorn. Also, scrambled signals regarding romance clear up with Mercury’s direct turn on July 19. Bring back the love!
Aquarius (January 20-February 19)
Draw clear lines this week, Aquarius, lest people mistake your kindness for weakness. In fact, you may need to show a tougher face to the world altogether. Contrary to what you might fear, people won’t hate you because you are firm with them. Rather, they will appreciate knowing where your limits lie. No more walking on eggshells, wondering when you might get upset.
Pisces (February 20-March 20)
Mercury wakes up from a three-week retrograde on the 19, giving you the green light to get out and about. From summer music festivals to far-flung locales avec passport, you’re ready to pack your bags and travel again. One caveat: With unpredictable Uranus backspinning through your money zone for five months, beginning July 17, you’ll have to be a budget-minded traveler. Mix in some couchsurfing or camping with those boutique hotel bookings.
