National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation: The Drinking Game!

by Georgie

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation: The Drinking Game!

Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite movies of all time.  It’s a film about family, perfection, and f*cking shit up.  Thus, it is the perfect drinking game!  I hope you will join me in getting sh*t faced this weekend to this movie (which is currently available on Netflix!!)

The Drinking Game Rules:

1. Drink every time Ellen calls Clark “Sparky”

2. Drink whenever someone is wearing an ugly Christmas sweater

3. Drink whenever someone mentions Clark’s Christmas bonus or the swimming pool.

4. Drink any time Clark has an awkward moment.

5. Drink whenever Clark is wearing sports-themed clothing.

6. Drink any time someone refers to Rusty as “Rus.”  Take two drinks if they have to yell it.

7. Drink whenever Clark endangers himself and/or others in the pursuit of the perfect Christmas.

8. Drink any time Clark has “crazy eyes.”

9. Dring every time an advent calendar is opened.

10.  Drink any time the Griswold’s neighbors complain.

11. Drink any time someone or an animal messes with the Christmas tree.

12. Drink any time cousin Eddie says something weird.

13. Drink every time Aunt Bethany speaks or sings or just…appears…

CONGRATULATIONS IF YOU FOLLOWED THE RULES BECAUSE YOU ARE DRUNK LIKE MEEEEEEE!!!

In an impressive display of new work, artist Yayoi Kusama (previously) recently opened a solo show, I Who Have Arrived In Heaven, at David Zwirner Gallery in New York. Now in her mid-80s, the prolific artist is showing twenty-seven new large-scale paintings, and not one but two of the artist’s famous Infinity Rooms (pictured above). The immersive mirrored environments can be entered by gallery visitors for a vertigo-inducing walk through an infinitely reflected field of stars and organic forms. The collected artwork and installation spaces span all three of David Zwirner’s galleries in Chelsea at 519, 525 and 533 West 19th Street and will be on view through December 21, 2013. The folks over at Urbana-based Electroninks Incorporated just launched a Kickstarter project for a new kind of pen that draws fuctional electronic circuits instantly. Called the Circuit Scribe, the handy little device works like a regular ballpoint pen and releases a non-toxic conductive silver ink that dries instantly. Via Kickstarter:

Circuit Scribe is for Makers, STEM Educators, Artists, Kids, & Life Hackers. We wanted to make it easier for Makers to Make. No shaking, no squeezing, no goop, no smell, no waiting for ink to dry. Circuit Scribe draws smooth lines with conductive silver ink and allows you to create functioning circuits instantly.

The project went viral immediately easily surpassed its $85,000 goal within a day or so. Watch the video above or learn more about it here.

The 50 greatest animal photobombs

by Jason Wire

COOPERSTOWN has the Baseball Hall of Fame. Springfield, its Basketball Hall of Fame. And the Internet has…this: the 50 greatest animal photobombs of all time, an exhaustive and definitive tribute to the legendary non-humans who’ve ever accidentally graced a photograph.

There were many contenders. There were even more cats. But at the end of the day, the following 50 stood above the rest…usually while making a ridiculous expression.

MGS V: Ground Zeroes has exclusive Xbox One content too

by Jordan Devore

In this Xbox One game montage video, there's a brief reference to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which will have content exclusive to Microsoft's platform in addition to the exclusive Deja Vu mission for PlayStation 4 featuring Classic Snake.

Naturally, we haven't the slightest clue what the content for Xbox One will entail -- that'd be far too easy. Realistically, though, how much cooler than low-poly Snake can you get? Tough act to follow.

Activists monitoring right-wing hate ask YouTube to change takedown policies

by Xeni Jardin
D G

People silencing others should go DIAF

"Dr. Chaps' Gordon Klingenschmitt, in a video removed from YouTube after his representatives issued takedown requests.

Miranda Blue of Right Wing Watch, a watchdog blog that reports on the radical right in part by posting fair-use clips on YouTube of activists speaking in their own words, writes: "One of the guys we monitor, former Navy chaplain Gorden “Dr. Chaps” Klingenschmitt, has now figured out a way to get our entire YouTube account taken down for weeks at a time just by filing multiple frivolous claims against our account. Now, we’re trying to get YouTube to change its policies to prevent people like Dr. Chaps from taking down entire watchdog organizations – which is surprisingly easy to do."

Dr. Chaps, by the way, believes President Obama is literally possessed by demons, and that gay men in the military are having sex with each other on the altar at West Point's chapel. He has a website, where he solicits donations for his "religious work."
