Actress Jennifer Lawrence becomes the stunning Miss Dior face for another season, photographed for the Spring Summer 2014 season Lawrence has teamed up with the legendary fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.
Jennifer Lawrence—unlike, say, Jennifer Aniston or Jennifer Lopez or Jennifer Garner—never looks the same. It’s one of the reasons writers struggle to find words to describe her, and often resort to unfortunate ones, like chameleon. David O. Russell, the man who directed Lawrence to an Oscar in Silver Linings Playbook, remembers bumping into her during awards season, 2011. “I would see this tall blonde at events, and I never understood who she was,” he says. “She looked like an Orange County girl—or Malibu Barbie. And I was like, ‘Who is that?’ And someone would say, ‘That’s Jennifer Lawrence,’ and I would say, ‘The girl cooking a squirrel on a stick in Winter’s Bone?’ I never recognized her! She always looks different.”
So different, in fact, that even after one of her two bodyguards comes into the restaurant to tell me that her arrival is imminent, when she finally walks in the door, I still don’t recognize her. To be fair, she has on pitch-black Tom Ford sunglasses, and her hair is wet; she recently had it cut off into a Karlie chop, one that is half blonde and half brown. (“Too skunky?” she will ask me later. “I think I need to make a decision.”). But before she even reaches the table, I can hear that raspy voice—the deep rumble of so much nervous energy. Yup, that’s her. – from American Vogue.

The Sandro Spring/Summer 2014 Lookbook had Janis Ancens at Elite Milano to front the fashion collection. The French brand presented a nice combination of colored and black-and-white images accentuated with several red highlights. It got its inspiration from the late ‘80s up to the fashion of the early ‘90s era. It comes with hints of rave and grunge. It maintains its classic appeal with its muted tones mixed with the modern elements. Overall, it has a good set of fashion pieces in black and white. From bomber jackets to tailored suits, the collection is something that can stand fashionable even 20 years ago.

Gucci Fall 2014–Giving her own version of the sixties mod movement, Frida Giannini’s vision for Gucci’s fall-winter 2014 collection was a polished start to Milan Fashion Week. Clean and simple silhouettes are glammed up with luxe embellishments including crystal adornments, leather finishes and fur coats. The silhouette of the season embraces the sixties inspired A-line shape for a super feminine look. Elsewhere, the Gucci woman wears shaggy fur coats and sweaters paired with slim-fitting pants and suit jackets. Shoes are also retro inspired–python, taupe and black riding boots that hit the calf work well with the medium-length skirts.
THANKGODYOUREHEREgod i hope this is successful
From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team-the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand-with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Are you a bourbon whiskey fan? If yes, then you surely have a favorite brand for your drinking session with the boys. However, it may be fun to discover new labels too especially with the Orphan Barrel Old Blowhard Bourbon. This new brand offering is something too impossible for you to overlook when placed on the market shelves. This 26-year-old bourbon can be found in Louisville’s Stitzel-Weller facility. It is a distillery popular for the making of Pappy Van Winkle bourbons. The Old Blowhard is considered one of the best bourbon whiskeys to be released this year. You can get for $150 via Diageo.

ETQ Amsterdam shoes have been a familiar site in our offices. The Dutch brand has done a tremendous job of putting forth leather trainers that have given the likes of Common Project serious competition in the market. Now, with the revival of the leather low in 2014 (think Stan Smith), ETQ is set gain even more interest as their distribution continues to grow. Their latest batch of leather trainers – part of their Spring 2014 – push farther with new colorways that will work for almost all as well as the addition of new running silhouettes that are sure to please. Explore the collection in our gallery.

The X-Wing miniatures game is almost the perfect tabletop experience. At least if you like Star Wars and fun things. About the only thing that could make it better would be to start introducing more units based on video game starfighters and oh what's this?
