Windows 10 har klarat sig bra mot kritik, bortsett från när det kommer till den mängd information som skickas från operativsystemet till Microsofts servrar. En del har gått så långt som att kalla det för spyware – spionprogram. Skälet till datainsamlingen är att göra Windows 10 mer personligt, för att systemet ska kunna lära sig om dig.

Nu är det dock inte alla som vill att så mycket information ska skickas till Microsoft, och då har du möjligheten att stänga av rapportering. Det har dykt upp flera olika program – ShutUp10 är ett av de bättre, då det låter dig stänga av enskilda funktioner och även få reda på vad det är du deaktiverar. ShutUp10 är gratis.

Windows 10 arbetar mer i molnet än vad tidigare versioner av Windows har gjort. OneDrive, appar och Cortana är exempel på sådant som arbetar mot Microsofts servrar. För att det här ska fungera behöver Windows 10 kunna kommunicera med Microsofts servrar, och det här har fått en del bloggar att kalla systemet för spyware.

En del rapporter har varit rena skräckhistorierna. Bland annat har jag läst hur flera bloggar och forum berättat att Windows 10 har ett program som läser alla dina filer och även om du stänger av det, så kommer det automatiskt att starta igen efter ett tag.

Det här stämmer, men programmet i fråga är Defender; det vill säga Windows egna antivirusprogram. Ja, det läser dina filer – det är liksom så antivirus fungerar, det läser igenom dina filer i jakt på skadlig kod. Och, ja, det startar automatiskt för att du ska kunna deaktivera det under en stund. Det handlar alltså inte om att någon på Microsoft sitter och läser dina dokument…

Med det inte sagt att du ska strunta i varningarna helt. Som standard är det rätt mycket information som samlas ihop av Windows 10. Syftet är att systemet ska kunna lära sig om dig, för att sedan exempelvis kunna ge dig korrekta svar när du använder Cortana (den digitala assistenten som styrs av rösten).

Gratisprogrammet ShutUp10 låter dig deaktivera de olika funktioner som samlar information. Det som är bra med just det här programmet är att det visar förklaringar om varje funktion. Läs dessa innan du väljer att deaktivera allting. Om du stänger av allt så är det inte säkert att Windows alla funktioner fungerar korrekt i framtiden.

Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens släpps i december. De som sett första trailern för nya Stars Wars-filmen, som utspelar sig 30 år efter Return of the Jedi, har förmodligen lagt märke till roboten som rullar fram i en av scenerna.

Det har alltid funnits massor av marknadsföringsartiklar och leksaker kring Star Wars-filmerna. En ny sådan är just en liten robot som liknar den i The Force Awakens. BB-8 från Sphero kan styras med smartphone över Bluetooth (cirka 30 meters räckvidd) eller med rösten.

Det går att låta roboten patrullera angivna områden eller låta den fara runt fritt själv och leka. Enligt Sphero har roboten en ”personlighet” som anpassas med tiden utifrån hur du interagerar med den. Enheten har trådlös laddning och 60 minuters batteritid.

BB-8 kostar 150 dollar när den beställs från Spheros hemsida.

Inlägget Sphero BB-8 är en Star Wars-robot som kan styras med mobilen dök först upp på Swedroid.

Best reference of all time. Even Disney knows how much Jar Jar sucked.
