A Spot-On Parody of Every Brand Video Ever
“This Is a Generic Brand Video” features virtually every cliché found in your average promotional brand video, from “guy with lab coat” to “time-lapse of city a night.” The spot-on parody was created by stock footage company Dissolve from their own library of footage. It is based on the humor article “This Is a Generic Brand Video” by Kendra Eash.
Lest you think we’re a faceless entity,
Look at all these attractive people.
Here’s some of them talking and laughing
And close-ups of hands passing canned goods to each other
In a setting that evokes community service.

Feds Launch "Don't Text & Drive" PSA
The most memorable safe-driving PSAs tend to be made overseas—in Britain, Mexico, Australia. But the U.S. adds a powerful new entry to the mix with this brutal spot from The Tombras Group for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Ushering in National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the spot is so riveting, you should stop reading now and watch it, then share it with your friends and family. It's OK, we'll wait. Welcome back. Aimed at teens, it's incredibly straightforward, simulating an everyday scene cut short by a distracted driver. The theme is "U drive. U text. U pay," with the hashtag #justdrive. The police officer's dialogue is perhaps a bit confusing—he almost doesn't need to be there.
Earthquake aftermath in Chile
Cooper GriggsI can't imagine what an 8.2 feels like. The strongest one I've ever been in was in the mid 6's and that was heavy.
Last week’s 8.2-magnitude earthquake has left many Chileans in destitution, while relief organizations try their best to reach and supply communities stricken by the natural disaster in and around Iquique, a quake-prone region in northern Chile.
Our hearts go out to those impacted in this catastrophe.
See more photos from the Chile Earthquake Aftermath gallery.
