The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. The steamy waters are part of a lava formation. The warm waters are rich in minerals like silica and sulphur and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help some people suffering from skin diseases. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 37-39 °C.

With an adept understanding of ceramics and anatomy, Hong-Kong based artist Johnson Tsang (previously here and here) creates strange and unexpected anthropomorphic sculptures where human forms seem to splash effortlessly through functional objects like bowls, plates, and cups. While the works shown here are mostly innocent and comical in nature the artist is unafraid of veering into more macabre subject matter in other artworks that grapple with war and violence.
Tsang recently opened a solo show, Living Clay, at the Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan that runs through January 19, 2014. You can see many more pieces from the exhibition over on his blog where you can also catch a glimpse of works in progress.

Located in Crossville, Tennessee, the Minister’s house is the world’s biggest tree house, and was built by Horace Burgess. It is 97 foot tall (3om), 10-story high, uses 6 trees as its foundations, and took over 14 years to be built. “I built it for everybody. It’s God’s treehouse. He keeps watch over it,” said Burgess, who got inspired in 1993 after a vision. “I was praying one day, and the Lord said, ‘If you build me a treehouse, I’ll see you never run out of material.” Cost of construction you might ask? $12,000! Let’s go live in the woods then! Hot water what?

Belgian street artist ROA creates heartbreaking images to illustrate the devastating results of animal hunting, pollution and other environmentally destructive human actions. This graffiti missionary manages to strike the world with his bone-chilling monochrome wall-paintings scattered all around the globe.
ROA’s in-your-face and highly creative approach of raising awareness on environmental issues has become his trademark. You can encounter his breathtaking spray-paint artworks in the USA, Canada, UK, Portugal, Mexico and Cambodia, to name just a few. Confused, trapped, suffering, dying, decaying or just boldly standing there and staring out at you, the regionally-based animals raise strongly ambivalent reactions. More importantly, however, they hardly ever leave any place for indifference.

Daniel Gray, a New Zealander visiting Canada with his Canadian girlfriend to meet her family found a very unique way to spend some of his time during their cold December visit. With the help of his girlfriend (Kathleen Starrie) and her family, he build the most amazing thing in their Edmonton backyard.
They started out by clearing out some snow to create space.
Then the first layer of ice blocks, built from milk cartons they collected, added coloring to, and froze.

Quando soltou a voz e deu uma palhinha em ao lado de Adam Green, Macaulay Culkin deu indícios de que poderia dar a volta por cima e tentar mais uma vez a vida de artista. Mas depois ele deu uma passadinha na Comic Com, e surpreendeu todo mundo com o bom humor no visual. Tanto ensaio teve um motivo para o ator! Apesar de não fazer nenhum anúncio prévio sobre o assunto, ele lançou o primeiro single de sua banda: The Pizza Underground. Quem reparou na semelhança do nome com a banda The Velvet Underground, não é mera coincidência. Acontece que o grupo fez referência à banda de Lou Reed sim, e ao invés de falarem de drogas e afins, a banda apresentou a primeira faixa demo falando apenas sobre pizza! A história tá um pouco precária demais para ser levada a sério: o sonzinho foi gravado dentro do apartamento de Macaulay, que tem função dentro da banda em ajudar com alguns vocais, assoprando o kazoo e emitindo sons de percurssão estranha batucando caixas de pizza vazia. De qualquer forma, a banda parece levar a sério a nova atividade, uma vez que a demo é uma compilação de vários trechos de músicas que eles já escreveram: “Papa John Says“,”I’m Beginning to Eat the Slice“, “Pizza“, “I’m Waiting for Delivery Man“,”Cheese Days“,”Pizza Day“, ”All the Pizza Parties“, “Pizza Gal” e ”Take a Bite of the Wild Slice“.
