Andre the Giant—fearsome professional wrestler, beloved cinematic rhyming giant—will soon be the subject of a documentary.

Deadline is reporting that the film will be produced by Bill Simmons, the sports media mogul behind The Ringer and formerly of ESPN’s lamented/late Grantland. The documentary will be in collaboration with HBO (which canceled Simmons’ talk show in November) and the WWE. No hard feelings, apparently.

Even those of us at The A.V. Club are aware that Super Bowl LI is going down this weekend, if only because it’s carte blanche to scarf nachos and chili. We kid—it’s obviously a big deal for a lot of people, including Conan O’Brien, who held a special “Big Game” edition of his Clueless Gamer segment. O’Brien was joined by Tom Brady, who’s been to this dance before, as well as Brady’s teammate, Rob Gronkowski. Dwight Freeney was also on hand to represent the Patriots’ opposition, the Atlanta Falcons, as they played Ubisoft’s For Honor.

Planet Earth II has already been a big hit in the U.K., where the lushly filmed animal documentary nearly beat The Great British Bake-Off in the ratings game. (Followers of British television culture will know that that’s essentially the English TV viewership equivalent of the Super Bowl.) Now, Deadline reports that the BBC has laid out its schedule for the show’s U.S. release, with its premiere being simultaneously broadcast on AMC, Sundance TV, and BBC America on February 18.

Producers for the show also noted that, unlike the original series’ U.S. version—which aired on Discovery, and featured new narration from Sigourney Weaver in an effort to draw in American ears—Planet Earth II will retain the U.K. version’s voiceover, courtesy of legendary British naturalist David Attenborough.

It’s been 14 months since armed gunmen invaded Paris’ Bataclan concert hall on November 13, 2015, killing 89 people during an Eagles Of Death Metal concert. Now, HBO has released the first trailer for its upcoming documentary about the attack and its aftermath, Eagles Of Death Metal: Nos Amis.

Opening with footage of the raucous concert in the moments shortly before the attack began, the trailer is a tense package, highlighting interviews with U2’s Bono and Eagles members Josh Homme and an emotional Jesse Hughes. Hughes has publicly struggled in the wake of the traumatic experience, feuding with the Bataclan over accusations against its security members. (The documentary was apparently filmed three months after the attack, before the worst of Hughes’ disagreements with the venue broke out.) If there’s one thing you can count on when there’s a never-ending feud between two parties, it’s that the children of those two parties will find a way to put aside their differences and become best friends—or at least that’s how it always works in fiction. That’s the basic setup for Ronja, The Robbers Daughter, a new animated series coming to Amazon Prime from legendary anime house Studio Ghibli. The series is about a little girl who befriends the son of a rival tribe’s leader, going against the wishes of her own father, and this trailer makes it look like it will be a nice, heartwarming story about the power of friendship. With Rush’s 40-year touring career coming to an end, this documentary offers an especially lighthearted and uplifting look at the band’s legacy. Stocked with footage of Rush’s final tour and the band’s celebrity fans, it also contains one of the most involved looks at Geddy Lee’s, Alex Lifeson’s, and Neil Peart’s senses of humor. A great example of this is Lifeson’s “The Bag” character that he used to assume backstage by putting a bag with a face scrawled on it over his head. He would then entertain the bands Rush toured with. (For the most part.
