Eye drops could spell the end of cataract surgery
People suffering from cataracts aren't exactly flush with options when it comes to restoring their vision. As they grow over time, they start to impede the ability to perform everyday tasks like reading and driving, prompting surgical removal either by scalpel or laser. But new research suggests a less invasive solution might be on the way in the form of a naturally-occurring molecule that can be administered through a simple eye drop.

Sustainer Homes creates green, off-grid homes from shipping containers
Using old shipping containers is seen as an environmentally friendly means of constructing new homes. Taking this one step further, Sustainer Homes has begun making off-grid container dwellings that incorporate self-managed water, sewerage, electricity and gas.

Wheelys 3 builds upon the cargo trike/coffee shop concept
Bunker.jordanKind of a cool idea, but I wouldn't want to drive that thing...
It was just this January that we heard about Wheelys 2, an electric-assist cargo trike that doubles as a mobile coffee shop. Although it provides pretty much everything that its owner might need to run their own business, its designers are now introducing the new-and-improved Wheelys 3.

Hunting Spear of Nicolas De LorraineDated: circa 1570Maker:...
Bunker.jordanJesus Christ. A gun-spear.
Hunting Spear of Nicolas De Lorraine
- Dated: circa 1570
- Maker: unknown
- Medium: iron, wood, ivory, bone and velvet
- Place of creation: Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany
- Measurements: height: 2.23 m; width: 0.16 m; weight: 4.6 kg
The spear belonged to Nicolas de Lorraine (1524-1577), Count of Vaudemont Duke of Mercoeur and stepfather of King Henri III of France. Its appeal is reinforced by its technical complexity as three small spinning wheel guns are concealed in the hollow of its iron edges. The spear was the weapon most commonly used for hunting.
The weapons system, which combines a knife and a gun, were very popular in the late 16th century. This spear has received a decorative treatment; its iron sage leaf is fully decorated with a tracery carved decor, while the wooden shaft is inlaid with bone and ivory plaques. The three spinning wheels have in their center an eagle with outstretched wings of the German Empire.

which do u think would win in a fight??? discuss
the first dog clearly has years of fighting experience and possesses the stern, quiet dominance of a master, but his age could prove disadvantageous when pitted against the raw power of the second dog. there’s clearly something brutal and furious burning inside him, and he walks with a carelessness that hints at his true berserker nature. the first dog’s technique will have to be flawless if he hopes to avoid being annihilated
I fucking hate this post. It’s fucking bullshit. Tell me, in what fucking universe do you exist in where raw anger and strength will overcome a seasoned master of fighting. No Fuck this. The first dog has 10,000 years of experience under his belt just look at that beard. The other dog is some angry stupid asshole and he will get his ass kicked. Fuck you and Fuck you for making me look at the url “shrexy”

Dad Max Goes Shoe Shopping For His Weird Son
I have a lot of thoughts about the Great Shoe Shuffle that happens in Fury Road. OK, first Slit pulls Max’s boot off by accident, so after the crash in the sandstorm, Max takes one of Nux’s shoes because he kinda figured Nux was kinda dead and didn’t need shoes anymore. And then later, in the swamp, Max goes off to kill the Bullet Farmer and comes back… with a boot for Nux.
But like, have you considered what that means?? Nux has been on their side for all of like ten minutes, as far as Max knows. But when he was raiding ammo and a steering wheel from the dead Bullet Farmer’s car, he would’ve had to actually pause and have the following thought process:
1) That is the same War Boy I took a boot from
2) I guess he’s on our side now
3) He is still possibly bootless
4) Since he is friend now I should give him a boot to replace the one I took
Max actually took a moment to consider Nux’s shoeless foot while he was killing the Bullet Farmer and raiding ammo from the enemies he had just blown up. DAD MAX, EVERYONE.

New Horizons spurs new calls to make Pluto a planet once again
Bunker.jordan:-|
After nearly a decade in the wilderness of celestial classification, Pluto is on the rise again. In 2006, the International Astronomical Union voted to adopt a new definition of what makes a body a planet, and to specifically demote Pluto to the status of dwarf planet. Now, with new data and images streaming in from New Horizons showing that Pluto is not only a little larger than previously thought, but also home to some remarkable geological features (including what may be some of the solar system's youngest mountain peaks, reaching to 11,000 ft/3,353 m high), many are saying it's time to restore the ninth planet to its previous station.
