ASICS has reworked its Gel-Spotlyte for use in the great outdoors, featuring rustic earth tones far removed from the court shoe that was once Isiah Thomas’ signature. The padded all leather build uses a combination of dark green and brown, as well as a bright orange reminiscent of a hunter’s safety vest. Tan leather paneling, finished in a unique cracked pattern, and striped flat laces round out the details. The ASICS Gel-Spotlyte “Outdoors” is available now at select ASICS retailers, including Extra Butter’s NYC shop and online.

A tiny Siamese kitten named Wampa cautiously stalks a giant remote-controlled black spider before gathering up all of her courage to face the mechanical arachnid head-on. According to her human, the two have since become the best of friends.

For Halloween, I decided to scare my kitten with a remote controlled spider. Her reaction is hilarious. …P.S. The kitty and the spider have become best friends. She is now sleeping and cuddling with the spider.

“Tape Paris” is an art installation by design collective Numen/For Use made entirely of tape, strung from pillars and walls in connected, irregular tubes, and large enough for people to fit inside. Visitors can slide, climb, and explore inside the exhibit—after removing their shoes, of course. Its stretched, organic lines are reminiscent of neurons or Tolkienesque spider webs.

The curatorial concept delves into the murky territory of both physical and psychological interiority, thematising immersion, introspection and probing of the depths of self. The main idea was to transform the whole building into a convulsive mind/body organism whose slippery inner limits a motivated explorer has yet to trace and confront. The stretched biomorphic skin of Tape Paris is marking the entry point to the whole experience, being a literal incarnation of an inner-directed, regressive environment – the sense of descent into the primordial always lingering around its openings.

The piece took 10 days’ work by a dozen people and is suspended at a height up to 18 meters above the floor. It is part of the group exhibition called “Inside” currently running at the Parisian Palais de Tokyo until January 2015.

New England’s Concepts has enjoyed a productive relationship with fellow Boston brand New Balance over the years, with the most recent project, in the form of the New Balance 997 “Rosé,” having dropped just this past weekend. And according to Concepts’ Instagram, the followup appears to be launching in imminent order. The silhouette this time around is a lesser heralded model, the New Balance Trailbuster, featuring an all suede build in a two-tone colorway. Nicknamed the “Regatta,” the kicks carry a combination red and bright blue design that sits on a sole unit fitted with a gum rubber outsole. Stay tuned for release details.

Originally teased here way back in April, we finally get a full look at the upcoming joint venture between The Hundreds and Reebok. The project centers around the Reebok Pump AXT, featuring an all suede build embellished with custom printed insoles, branded accents on the body and laces, and a “Solid Bomb” pump button on the left shoe. The shoe comes in two colorways, one in a predominantly black base with bright blue accents, while the second pair sports a mostly green finish with contrasting hits of pink. The Hundreds x Reebok Pump AXT launches Black Friday, November 28th, at The Hundreds flagships and online.

Bodega‘s joint effort with ASICS on the special-edition Gel Lyte V “Geocached” is unique in a number of ways. First up is the packaging, in which the shoes are housed in a “wet box,” along with a champagne bottle, jacket and mixtape, as well as a stack of dollar bills totaling $100. Second is the release schedule, which is limited to just six cities. The case full of goodies first popped up in Bodega’s hometown of Boston on November 8, and subsequent drops will occur in NYC (11/12), Los Angeles (11/15), London (11/19), Sydney (11/22), and Tokyo (11/26), with GPS coordinates unveiled through Hypebeast social media platforms. Stay tuned for word on the possibility of a wider release.

For the past four years, Italy-based street artist Anecleto “Clet” Abraham has been adding a bit of whimsy to street signs by subtly modifying them with his vinyl stickers. Abraham’s stickers often interact with the bold shapes found on street signs–“do not enter” and directional arrows are among Abraham’s favorite signs. Abraham mostly works in Europe but he recently modified signs in New York City.

An absolutely adorable English Bull Terrier spins in frantic circles while running around erratically on his human’s bed. This process is known as “hucklebutting,” a behavior that is unique to the breed.

It is variously called ‘freaking’, a ‘mad five’ or in the USA ‘hucklebutting’. The dog suddenly takes off at full speed and sprints all over the house, round rooms, in and out of furniture, often in a figure of eight. The best ‘freaks’ involve going at full speed head first towards a wall/door/piece of furniture, and then at the last minute doing a half turn to slam sideways into the obstacle, bouncing off it and then continuing at full speed. This activity usually last for two or three minutes only, though it can be triggered or prolonged with a little encouragement.

GoPro has created a colorful and somewhat trippy video of skiers Pep Fujas, Chris Benchetler and Eric Hjorleifson taking to Alaska backcountry slopes while decked out in custom suits covered in LED lights from Philips. The footage was shot as part of the short ski film “Afterglow.”

The wonderful Tolga Bat Hospital, located near Cairns, North Queensland Australia, provides loving rescue, rehabilitation and sanctuary services for injured or abandoned bats, who are either slowly released back into the wild or remain in the sanctuary for the rest of their lives.

Tolga Bat Hospital works for the conservation of bats and their habitat. We do this by:

• the rescue, rehabilitation and release of hundreds of bats each year
• the provision of lifetime sanctuary for many bats that are too severely injured to return to the wild or have been retired from zoos
• education about bats through schools and the onsite Visitor Centre
• habitat restoration work at 2 colonies, Tolga Scrub and Lakeside
• facilitating research into flying foxes by various universities and government bodies
• advocating for bats
• providing a rich volunteering experience at the hospital

We are a not-for-profit community group, a Landcare group and a registered charity that aims to improve the public’s perception and understanding of bats. The group takes its name from the nearby Tolga Scrub, a fragment of critically endangered Mabi rainforest that is home to up to a million fruit bats at some times of the year.

Man’s best friend? More like THE man’s best friend.

When officers arrived on the scene to execute a drug search warrant, they say that Edward Melvin Henderson fled out the back of the house, jumped off a 25-foot ravine, and ran into a wooded area.

But just then Henderson’s dog, Bo, appeared on the scene.

The law-abiding pooch looked at one of the cops, who pointed at Henderson and instructed the mixed breed pit bull/husky to go and chase after his owner.

“Bo, without hesitation, went down the ravine trailed by two Drug Enforcement Investigators,” the Prattville Police Department said in a Facebook post.
