Texas adoption agency 'religious refusal' closer to law

SpinnyNuNu

Unacceptable.

They'd rather kids not have a family. Fuck them.

Texas Republicans pushed closer to a law that allows publicly-funded foster care and adoption agencies to refuse to place children with non-Christian, unmarried or gay prospective parents because of religious objections

Donald Trump and Betsy DeVos Set to Announce Taxpayer Funding for Religious Schools

by Hemant Mehta

Unconstitutional

When she's not getting booed by college students, Betsy DeVos' day job is to make public education worse all over the country, and she's incredibly close to achieving that goal. An early look at Donald Trump's education budget shows hundreds of millions of dollars earmarked for religious schools.shutterstock_519055897

Sacramento Fire Department warns against water dangers this weekend

SpinnyNuNu

It's the first summer temperatures weekend of the year. Wear your life jackets people! The water is colder than you think, faster than it looks, and deeper than you expect.

I'm tired of hearing about someone drowning because they thought it would be a good idea to swim to the other side of the river without a life jacket.

Lincoln woman's suspected killer takes own life near Truckee

SpinnyNuNu

This is incredibly heartbreaking. The police were called around 8:20 and she was found still in the driver's seat of her car which tells me she had likely just dropped her kids off at our local elementary school which starts at 8:15. Then, her suspected killer ends up committing suicide when the police were closing in.

Her poor kids were robbed of their mother.

Just awful.

Trump rails against 'single greatest witch hunt of a politician'

SpinnyNuNu

Apparently he was unconscious during the Clinton blow job impeachment crap.

Clinton did NOTHING to jeopardize national security and still the Republicans (full disclosure: I was wholeheartedly onboard with them at the time) managed to convince people that he needed to be impeached.

But, nope, ties to Russia, lying about meeting with Russian operatives, revealing highly classified information to Russian officials/suspected spies (IN THE GAWDAMMED OVAL FUCKING OFFICE WITH ONLY RUSSIAN PRESS IN ATTENDANCE, FFS) those things are what a witch hunt are made of.

Upon the naming of a special counsel in the probe on Russia election meddling, the president struck a different tone from his Wednesday statement.

Televangelist Jim Bakker: Donald Trump’s Critics Have Initiated the Apocalypse

by Hemant Mehta
SpinnyNuNu

Lemme just go ahead and put on my fundie hat for a second.

Hey, Jim Bakker, have you read the Bible? You know, the part about how the antichrist will deceive most of the Christians with his clever words and charisma? Who does that most sound like to you?

I mean, if you're going to believe bullshit, maybe remember that it can be applied in unflattering ways.

When the Apocalypse occurs, you liberals better feel really, really bad about yourselves, because your hatred of Donald Trump made it happen. At least that's what televangelist Jim Bakker says.WordsBakker
