Riddick looks a lot like a bigger budget version of Pitch Black to me — barren planet, group of armed people trying to catch Riddick, a storm, attacks by aliens — and yet, as I watch this new trailer, I find I don't really care, because it still looks completely awesome.

Newswire: The Game Of Thrones showrunners wrote an upcoming episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Andrew.framptonThis is going to be required viewing when it airs.
D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have proven themselves game for interacting with shows vastly different than their HBO fantasy epic Game Of Thrones. Recently they swapped shows with Parks And Recreation’s Michael Schur and Dan Goor to write plot synopses of an episode for Entertainment Weekly. Now they’ve taken their collaborative spirit a step further, with Rob McElhenney announcing via Twitter that Benioff and Weiss wrote an episode of the upcoming season of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
Other details haven’t trickled out yet, but the show moves to FX’s new youth-oriented FXX channel sometime in the fall. Benioff’s other writing credits include 25th Hour and The Kite Runner, so we’re all in for a laugher. Perhaps the collaboration will lead to a Sunny-written episode of Game Of Thrones, presumably where Tyrion and Bronn spend the entire episode in a King ...

“If a gay man — or, let’s face it, a straight man — can’t make an HIV joke and somehow connect it with Glee, then I guess we’re all lost in The French Royal Court of West Hollywood,” – Brett Easton Ellis, in a piece to which I can only respond: hurrah!
And, yes, Weekend is the first honest movie about gay life today I have seen. And fuck GLAAD.
It's Not A Video Game Bar. It's A Video Game Restaurant.
Andrew.framptonI would make the trip.
The idea of video game-themed bars is nothing new, but there's something about the idea of this video game-themed restaurant that I can get behind.
EXP Restaurant + Bar is in Vancouver, Canada, and while it might be going a little overboard with the whole VIDEO GAMES THEME - giant screens showing gameplay is a bit much - I love the menus. Love them. Multiplayer? Wonderful.
Zelda burgers with a triforce grilled into the pattie is also a nice touch.

Yuko Shimizu’s science fiction illustrations may blow your mind
Yuko Shimizu recently posted a gallery of amazing science fiction-style art at the portfolio site Behance. A couple were covers for the Vertigo series The Unwritten, but most consisted of book covers and illustrations that were too good not to share. Shimizu posts pictures of the unadorned illustrations beside shots of the images out in the wild, for context. As well as being a great illustrator, she’s an extremely talented designer.

It's not easy to improve upon the gorgeous skies that Mother Nature paints herself, but photographer Matt Molloy managed to pull it off: the Canadian photographer stitched together a composite of hundreds of individual photographs to create stunningly beautiful effects in this "time stacks" photography series.
Hawken employees genderflip CEO's sexy lady poster, have a laugh
Andrew.framptonWerk.
"Our gender awareness standards, compared to the industry at large, are top shelf," she writes. "We are talking Amelia Earhart in Atlantis, at a five star resort, getting a mani-pedi from Jensen Ackles. I have it good."
But CEO Mark Long (a dude, if that wasn't apparent) had a penchant for the sexy lady poster above (on the left, if that wasn't apparent), and the writer didn't particularly care for it. It was blown up to poster size and placed in his office so that it was the first thing the writer - and all visitors - saw upon entering, and the last thing when leaving.
"This little lady's undermeats have been the open- and close-parens to my work world for the last six months," she described. "I loathe this picture."
So she did something about it. The writer roped in a co-worker and artist, Sam Kirk, to whip up a gender-swapped version of the poster, which they named Brosie the Riveter. They blew it up to the same poster size, and on April 1, they swapped it with the female one in their CEO's office.
When Long saw the poster, he flipped. But then he came up to the writer and said something truly touching:
"That was a brilliant prank. You called me on exactly the bullshit I need to be called on. I put up pictures of half-naked girls around the office all the time and I never think about it. I'm taking you and Sam to lunch. And after that, we're going to hang both prints, side by side."
And so they did. The end.

Airliner Makes Emergency Landing To Remove Disruptive Singing Passenger
The solo performance began shortly into the flight from Los Angeles to New York and her crooning quickly became too much for passengers and staff on the domestic flight last Thursday. The pilot was forced to change course halfway through the six hour flight and make an unscheduled stop at Kansas City so officers could escort the woman from the plane. Airport spokesman Joe McBride told WBTV: "The woman was being disruptive and was removed from the plane for interfering with the flight crew. There was a federal air marshal on the aircraft, who subdued the woman and put her in cuffs and removed her from the plane."The woman was still singing as she was taken from the cabin in handcuffs. During her interview with local police, she claimed to be a diabetic in need of medication. The cops released her without charges, but the airline refused to allow her to board another flight.
This Lamborghini Sure Looks like a Nintendo 64 Controller
Over the weekend, Lamborghini unveiled its new concept car: the Egoista. The design is rather unusual, even for Lamborghini. Some hate it! Some like it. Some are even comparing it to geeky things.
There's the obvious comparison—namely, that the car looks like the Mach 5, the iconic car from Speed Racer. Load of people on 2ch, Japan's largest internet forum, seem to think that. They also think it looks "too dorky". How can the car from Speed Racer be dorky?! Madness!
Others thought the Egoista looks like those Tamiya toy cars.
That's not the only comparison: With that gray color, the front of the car sure looks like the Nintendo 64 controller.
Our colleagues at Jalopnik have a defense of this batshit insane looking car.

Better Know A Draft Pick: That Prick Who Took Kluwe’s Job
Andrew.framptonThis is a most wonderful indirect love letter to Kluwe.
The draft has come and gone, but there are still plenty of under the radar picks we could know a bit better. After all, most of us didn’t bother sitting through three horrible days of the NFL Draft.
Name: Jeff Locke
Position: Punter and kickoff specialist
Selected by: Minnesota Vikings
Reaction:
That’s a bold move Cotton. Lets see how it plays.
— Chris Kluwe (@ChrisWarcraft) April 27, 2013
Pick: 155th (5th round)
School: UCLA
Outspoken proponent on social issues?: I said UCLA, not Cal. (oh yeah, Kluwe went to UCLA too didn’t he?)
Secret that the Vikings don’t know about yet: He likes dogs*, and it’s a slippery slope from belly rubs to bestiality.
Major: Economics
Hobby: Video games
Which is only mentioned because: It stings Kluwe that much deeper.
Twitter: @JeffLocke18
Notable highlight real feature: He can’t kick the ball without injuring himself.
Which, by kicker/punter standards, makes him: TOUGH AS NAILS, BRO.
Strength: Making footballs go boom
Weakness: Off-field blogworthiness
Loved by: Michele Bachmann
Hated by: Michele Bachmann when she finds out he kicks with his left foot (aka the satanic foot)
What scouts are saying: He punts. He kicks. He punts and kicks and punts. Punt punt punt, kick kick kick, The Punty and Kicky Show! (scouts don’t really scout punters, right?)
Immediate impact: Punts the ball about as well as Chris Kluwe, but without all of the independent thoughts. Much ballyhooed kickoff ability becomes moot when the Vikings remember they already have a kicker who is both really effective, and doesn’t spend his evenings responding to fans of the team who call him a f*g lover on Twitter.
Down the road: Fails to make the cover of Out Magazine
*I don’t know for a fact that he likes dogs, but he his silence on the topic has said volumes. What are you hiding, Mr. Locke?

You Are Looking at a Ramen...Burger
Wake up! You are not dreaming. This is really happening. Well, in Japan at least.
Fast food joint Lotteria is teaming with ramen restaurant Menya Musashi for this culinary collaboration—a first of its kind, apparently, for the hamburger chain. Thus, as IT Media reports, the resulting burger is called "Menya Musashi Ramen Burger".
The noodles are lightly fried into a ramen patty, which is placed between two burger buns along with tender pork cutlet and mayonnaise. The burger is also served with "katsuo dashi" (a type of Japanese broth) soup.
Priced at 634 yen (US$6.30), the limited time only burger with soup is available starting May 20. You can even order a second ramen patty for only 100 yen.
