Netflix's Iron Fist Explained

by Arnold T. Blumberg

On March 17, 2017, the new Marvel Netflix series Iron Fist -- the last part of the puzzle that eventually assembles into… no, the Defenders -- will debut. The Netflix shows have been following a similar pattern to that of their earliest MCU contemporaries: Introduce a number of strong solo heroes, then bring them together for a massive threat in a team adventure.

We’re all waiting to see how The Defenders plays out, but for now it’s time to meet the final member of the team to be introduced after Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter). Finn Jones -- known to Doctor Who fans as Jo Grant’s grandson from two episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures, and to Game of Thrones fans as Loras Tyrell -- will be playing Danny Rand, AKA Iron Fist, so let’s find out more about the comics version of the Man with the Glowing Hand!

Jason Momoa Talks Aquaman's World

by Alex Osborn

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has shared a few new details about Warner Bros.' upcoming DC solo film, saying he's "extremely happy" with the underwater world the studio has created.

In an interview with Digital Trends, Momoa highlighted an aspect of the film that he thinks is "cool," namely how Aquaman "taps into the native culture and that’s something that we're only taught a little about, so there’s a lot of interesting things."

He also said he's read the film's script and expressed his excitement in the DCEU exploring the depths of the sea. "I’ve never seen a movie that's anything like this. It's going to be a world that you’ve never seen before," he said, noting how prior DC films have ventured to other planets, but never underwater. "So it’s just a really cool spin on what’s below and it uses a lot of great movies that I already love," he added, specifically mentioning The Lord of the Rings, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Romancing the Stone and Star Wars.

HP Launches Web Series about Security Starring Christian Slater

Is there any connection between Slater's character here and his role in Mr. Robot? I still haven't watched that show yet, but they seem related. Anyway, this is basically just a slick commercial for HP's printers and PCs—it is boldly proclaimed that the company's devices are the most secure in the world. I don't know about that, but it's fun to see advertising budgets being flaunted. HP Inc. today introduced the first of a series of global initiatives to elevate awareness of the security risks facing businesses and consumers. It kicks off with award-winning actor Christian Slater and the premiere of the newly launched HP Studios' web series, The Wolf, highlighting how corporate networks can be hacked and what companies must do to protect themselves. In the series, Slater systematically hacks a company - from the mailroom to the boardroom - through overlooked vulnerabilities and poorly secured printers and PCs. This first installment reinforces that security is no longer just the responsibility of the network or something at the perimeter, but it's a concern for everyone. Discussion
