What Kind Of Girl Scout Cookie Are You?
Philip.paulssonI got Thanks-A-Lots: "Upon first meeting you, people get that you’re sweet. What they don’t immediately realize is that you’re also full of substance. You’re a deep individual with a lot to say if someone will take the time to learn. Drop the knowledge more often and people will thank you. A lot."
I wanted the mint ones.
Find out exactly how sweet you really are.

Brooklyn Residents All Look Alike To This CNN Anchor
Philip.paulssonHahah they all do look alike in Brooklyn. Which is particularly funny because they are all trying *so hard* to be unique.
“You go to Brooklyn, everybody’s got a beard and plaid shirt. They may be able to tell each other part but they kind of all look alike to me.”
An OutFront segment about the viral clip of Sam Jackson reacting to a reporter who mistook him for Laurence Fishburne featured CNN's own Don Lemon who told host Erin Burnett "people do look alike," adding that he has trouble telling some groups of people apart.
Using himself as an example, Lemon said that people used to confuse him with former CNN employee T.J. Holmes all the time, but he'd just laugh it off and say, "I'm the other black guy."
Burnett's take was that Jackson handled the situation "beautifully," but she probably gets mistaken for Emily Deschanel a lot, because; "Two white women with blue eyes, there you go."

Which Old-School Pro Wrestling Legend Are You?
Philip.paulssonI am the Undertaker: "You’re a clutch performer. You’re at your best when the lights are brightest and mere mortals would buckle under the pressure. Your consistent excellence means no one is more respected than you. But deep down you have a nice side not many get to see. You’re always there for a friend because after all, maybe your biggest flaw is that you care too much."
I was really hoping for Andre the Giant.
You got in trouble for suplexing, elbow dropping, and pinning your siblings/classmates, but no one understood it was because you had a legend inside you.

Which Unfortunate Canadian Stereotype Are You?
Philip.paulssonHaha...I'm "way too cooperative: Stop working so well with others. People hate that you work well with others. F*ck you. (If you are unhappy with this result, we apologize! Please forgive us. We are so sincerely sorry.)"
So you think you can Canada, eh?
So, at this point it might be simpler just to list the businesses who have NOT had their computer security breached to allow hackers to access your credit card account data [Scary]

A Suicide Bomb Instructor In Iraq Accidentally Killed His Students
Philip.paulssonShared for two reasons. First: Ha-Ha! (/nelson voice)
Second: ISIS?!?!
Twenty-two members of a militant group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria were killed during a suicide bombing training class. Fifteen others were wounded and eight were arrested.
Days after bombings killed at least 16 people in Baghdad, 22 people were killed during a suicide bombing training class after the instructor's belt detonated.

The blast killed 22 members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and injured 15 others. Eight members of the group were captured while trying to escape.
The group has been targeting the Iraqi army, which is predominantly Shiite. The man teaching the class was described as "a prolific recruiter who was 'able to kill the bad guys for once.'"
ISIS has had an established presence in Iraq since the beginning of the year.
Stringer/Iraq / Reuters
ISIS militants drove into Falluja and the nearby city of Ramadi, both in Anbar Province, earlier this year with heavy weaponry, taking control of key intersections and offices of local authorities.
Local security forces and tribes have since re-established control in Ramadi.
But Iraq is developing a plan, with help from the United States, that would have Sunni tribes take the lead in ending the standoff with ISIS in Falluja, with the Iraqi Army in support, a senior State Department official told Congress last week.
The official, Brett McGurk, said that ISIS had about 2,000 fighters in Iraq, and that its longer-term objective is to establish a base of operations in Baghdad, led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who has been officially designated as a global terrorist by the State Department.

A Young Giraffe At The Copenhagen Zoo Was Publicly Killed And Fed To Lions
Philip.paulssonHahah I love how they invited people to watch the autopsy!
“I don’t think anyone would have lifted an eyebrow if it was a pig,” a spokesman said.
Marius, an 18-month-old giraffe at the Copenhagen Zoo, was killed and dissected in front of zoo visitors this morning, in order to prevent the giraffes from inbreeding.

A spokesman for the zoo said that there were already a lot of giraffes with genes similar to Marius in their international breeding program, according to TIME.

“The purpose of the breeding program is to have as healthy a population as possible, not only now, but in the future,” said the zoo’s scientific director, Bengt Holst. “As this giraffe’s genes are over-represented in the breeding program, the European Breeding Programme for Giraffes has agreed that Copenhagen Zoo euthanize him.”
Many people attempted to save the animal -- more than 20,000 signed an online petition, two zoos said they would take him and an individual offered 500,000 euros to stop the killing, but the zoo anesthetized Marius then killed him with a bolt pistol.

The Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Britain already has Marius' brother, so Holst said the park's space should be used to acquire giraffes with more valuable genetics. The other zoo, in Sweden, couldn't offer a promise that they wouldn't sell him later.
Robert Krijuff, the director of a wildlife park in the Netherlands, had made a last-minute offer to take the giraffe that was rejected.
"I can't believe it," he said. "We offered to save his life. Zoos need to change the way they do business."

Visitors, including families with children, were invited to watch while technicians performed an autopsy. The giraffe was skinned, dissected, broken down and eventually fed to the zoo's lions.

Every year, 20-30 animals are put down at the Copenhagen Zoo in order to manage the populations and keep them healthy, Holst told the BBC.

How Much Would Ron Swanson Hate You?
Philip.paulssonAwww, he would just "tolerate" me: "You’re not going to be invited to fish, or camp, or even interrupt Ron’s peaceful reverie. Your mind and your stomach are soft and you’ve probably never whittled so much as a toothpick. But you can stay, as long as you keep quiet."
People are idiots.

How A Google Glass App Could Spell The End Of Anonymity
Philip.paulssonWait, google is banning this app?! This is the only reason I want something like google glass in my life! To avoid those awkward "Sorry, what's your name again?" conversations.
NameTag allows you to identify any stranger in your field of vision.
A storm has been building around the NameTag app since the end of last year.

The initial headlines envisaged it as a way for online and offline dating to merge, but the wider implications quickly became clear.

Surreal Photos Of A House Nearly Getting Destroyed By A Giant Boulder
Philip.paulssonIn the 2nd pic is that a rock that was already there from a previous landslide (like, before they built the house?)
There are close calls, then there’s the “whoa, that giant rock almost took out my whole house” close calls.
This farmhouse in northern Italy narrowly escaped total destruction by an enormous boulder. The massive slab of rock barrelled through the countryside during a Jan. 21 landslide near the village of Ronchi di Termeno. Luckily, no one was hurt.

The giant rock destroyed the house's barn before coming to a stop in the vineyard. However, it could have been way worse...

AP Photo/Markus Hell, Tareom.com
How much worse than a totally destroyed barn, you ask?

A second boulder came to a halt a mere foot from the house. Whoa.

Everything You Need To Know About That Insane Online Space Battle That Cost $300,000
Philip.paulssonI got a free couple month membership in this, and it's the first MMO I've ever played. While I like the idea of it, it wasn't my cup of tea. I am not sure whether it's the persistent world thing, or the monthly payment thing, but one of those leads to you being stuck more than half the time doing boring shit like traveling to and fro, instead of doing anything actually, you know... fun.
Two days in the wild and wonky world of EVE Online .
EVE Online is a massively multiplayer online science fiction role-playing game.

It's been around since 2003, and boasts more than 500,000 subscribers.
Even within the complicated world of MMORPGs, EVE is known as incredibly wonkish.

The game boasts a real, shockingly complicated economy and trading system, and is well known for its highly-evolved grand-scale political strategy, complete with diplomacy and espionage. One of the American diplomats killed in Benghazi, Sean Smith, was an avid EVE player and diplomat.
Basically, the game revolves around garnering enough currency (ISK) to build bigger and better spaceships.

This is a comparison of ship sizes from many different sci-fi worlds. The two I've marked are from EVE.
Dirk Loechel / Via dirkloechel.deviantart.com
You can earn ISK through time-consuming missions and resource-gathering.

Or you can buy it with real money. Right now a "PLEX" of 600 million ISK costs about $18 USD.
