This Video Of Babies Tasting Lemons For The First Time Is Hilarious
Philip.paulssonHahah poor babies.
Remember this photo series? Well now it’s a delightful video. (H/T Petapixel ).
Pucker was a photo series by April Maciborka and David Wile.
It showed babies reacting with everything from joy to terror as they tasted lemons for the first time. Now you can watch them at 300 frames per second.

Today, it's the last day of my sign language class. At the end of the class, my teacher surprised us by speaking for the first time, also surprising everyone that she wasn't actually deaf. It wouldn't have been so bad had I not just given someone an answer to the test, thinking she couldn't hear me. FML
A Cop Pulled People Over But Instead Of Giving Them Tickets He Gave Them $100
Philip.paulssonThat is kinda awesome.
Best. Cop. Ever.
"Do you know why I pulled you over? I pulled you over because you made a complete stop."
As part of their Prank It Forward campaign, Break took to the streets of Los Angeles to pull over drivers and reward them for driving safe.

When the officer asked the confused drivers if they knew why they were being pulled over, no one had a clue.

And when he told them it was because they made a complete stop, wore a helmet, or didn't talk on their phone, they were all pretty shocked.

Footballer Credited With Saving Opponent’s Life On Pitch After Horrific Collision
Philip.paulssonGah! He swallowed his own tongue? How does that even work??
Jaba Kankava rushed to save Oleg Gusev after he was knocked unconscious.
In the 22nd minute of a Ukrainian Premier League match, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk goalkeeper Denis Boyko came to claim a high ball and collided with Dynamo Kiev captain Oleg Gusev.
The Dynamo captain was immediately knocked unconscious after being accidentally struck by Boyko’s knee.
Having witnessed the collision, Kankava rushed to his opponent’s aid and managed to clear Gusev’s airway by reportedly pulling his tongue back out of his throat after the midfielder swallowed it.
Gusev regained consciousness soon after Kankava's intervention and after being stretchered away was later taken to hospital.

A statement on the Dynamo Kiev website on Monday said the player suffered “serious injuries” and is currently being examined by doctors who will later decide on how to treat him.
A banner has also be created for fans to sign to send the club’s captain their best wishes and support.

This Browser Tool Lets You See Anyone's Email Address Via LinkedIn
Philip.paulssonScary!
A marketing company is hijacking LinkedIn to promote its data services. And it’s scarily easy. Update: Sell Hack has taken the tool down.

Via sellhack.com
If you use LinkedIn, your email address can easily be exposed to anyone with access to a web browser, thanks to a Chrome extension called Sell Hack.
The tool, first noticed by Yahoo Tech, is easy to install after a quick visit to Sell Hack's site. Once installed, a small "Hack In" button will appear on any LinkedIn profile. Users will then be able to dig up an email address associated with the user's account even if they're not "connected" via LinkedIn. A recent Sell Hack blog post notes that the site was created for marketing professionals "as an internal email finder tool for us to use when prospecting."
It's important to note that Sell Hack isn't mining LinkedIn's private data; rather it takes publicly available data (like name and work information) and then references that other publicly available data across the web to find an email address. In short, Sell Hack using is LinkedIn's brand and visibility to sell its data service.
Here's how Sell Hack describes the process :
The data we process is all publicly available. We just do the heavy lifting and complicated computing to save you time. We aren't doing anything malicious to the LinkedIn website. We think browser extensions are the best way to personalize an individuals web experience. We love LinkedIn and are trying to make it better for the community.
I tried it with my boss, since we're not connected on LinkedIn. Once Sell Hack was installed, all I had to do was click the button...

After a few seconds, this started to happen...

U.S. Near Top Of List Of Countries That Carried Out The Most Death Penalties Last Year
Philip.paulssonWoah China. And also, ABOLISH THE GDAMN DEATH PENALTY ALREADY AMERICA!
The countries that carried out the most death penalties in 2013: the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, and China, according to a report by Amnesty International.

Amnesty International
In an annual report released Thursday, Amnesty International found a 15% increase in the number of death penalty sentences carried out in 2013 from the year before.
It found that at least 778 people were reported executed in 21 countries — not including China, because China does not disclose such figures.
The report found an increase in executions in Iran and Iraq, who along with Saudi Arabia accounted for almost 80% of all reported death penalty sentences. Some of the report's findings are based on limited information: numbers for Egypt, Syria, and Oman were unavailable, while Amnesty estimated that for countries like China and North Korea, where transparent facts are near-impossible to access, the findings are likely significantly higher.
The report found that in some countries the death penalty was applied for a range of non-lethal crimes, including drug-related offense and robbery, as well as acts like "adultery" and "bribery."
In 2013, Indonesia, Kuwait, Nigeria and Vietnam resumed their use of capital punishment. By the year's end, 98 countries worldwide had also officially abolished the death penalty (up from 85 in 2004.)
Here's a look at the 22 countries still executing in the name of justice.

Watch The Beautiful Moment A Woman Who Was Born Deaf Hears For The First Time
Philip.paulssonIf you've been deaf since birth, would you be able to understand spoken language immediately upon turning one of these on?
After 40 years of silence, hearing the days of the week read aloud would be pretty overwhelming.
Joanne Milne suffers from a rare condition called Usher Syndrome. The 40-year-old has been deaf since birth, and lost her sight to the disease in her mid-20s.
youtube.com / Via dailymail.co.uk
After being fitted with a cochlear implant last month, Joanne had to wait four weeks before her doctor could turn on the device and make sure the operation had been a success. As you can imagine, she was overwhelmed upon first hearing her doctor's voice.

"Hearing things for the first time is so emotional from the ping of a light switch to running water. I can’t stop crying and I can already foresee how it’s going to be life changing," Joanne told The Daily Mail.
