When Play It Again, Dick — a web series revolving around Ryan Hansen's fan favorite Veronica Mars character, Dick Casablancas — was announced in January 2014, creator Rob Thomas described the project like this: "The web series will have more in common with Party Down tonally, but it will be about Ryan Hansen, or at least a version of Ryan Hansen, deciding to capitalize on the current Veronica Mars heat to get his own series on the air. He'll try to pull his actor pals into the venture with varying degrees of success."

In the subsequent seven months, Thomas has been silent on the series. But with filming on the eight-episode series recently completed, BuzzFeed can now reveal the actors who will join Ryan Hansen — who plays Dick Casablancas and a fictionalized version of himself — in the super-meta series.

This Married Couple Apparently Found Out They Have The Same Mother

The half-siblings were reportedly abandoned as children.

A woman has discovered during a live radio segment that her husband is in fact her half-brother.

The pair, who have a 6-year-old daughter together, had both been searching for their mothers for years after being abandoned as children.

They both knew they had mothers with the same name but put it down to coincidence.

In its report, the radio station changed the names, dates, and locations of those involved to protect the couple's identity.

At the end of the segment, the mother, Maria, revealed to her daughter, Adriana, that she also had a son called Leandro with a different man than her father.

"I don't believe that you're telling me this," the woman said. "Leandro is my husband."

Only death is going to separate us. All this happened because God wanted it to happen. 

At first we were really knocked by it all, but we had a family meeting and told everyone that we are going to stay husband and wife, whatever anyone might think.

Lyft: Uber scheduled, canceled 5,000 rides to hassle us [Updated]

CNN reports that people associated with car-on-demand service Uber have been attempting to sabotage an Uber competitor, Lyft, by ordering and canceling as many as 5,000 rides since October 2013. Lyft drivers have also complained that Uber employees will call them to take "short, low-profit rides largely devoted to luring them to work for Uber."

Uber reportedly used the ride request-and-cancellation tactic earlier this year on another competitor, Gett, to the tune of around 100 rides. Those ride calls were placed by employees as high in the company as Uber's New York general manager, Josh Mohrer. The calls serve a number of purposes: frustrating drivers, wasting their time and gas approaching a fare that won't come through, and occupying them to artificially limit driver availability, if only temporarily.

Lyft claims to have sussed out the fake requests using phone numbers used by "known Uber recruiters." Lyft claims that one Uber recruiter requested and canceled 300 rides from May 26 to June 10, and it said that recruiter's phone number was associated with 21 more accounts with 1,524 canceled rides between them. However, in this instance, there's no evidence that the cancellations were suggested by Uber corporate, according to CNN.

WASHINGTON — Cat litter trays featuring the faces of authoritarian leaders from around the world are now on sale as a way to raise money for a campaign against internet censorship.

A VPN (virtual private network) provider called HideMyAss has launched a "Pussycat Riot" campaign to raise money for the Index on Censorship, a non-profit. Cat owners can now buy litter pans with the faces of Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russia's Vladimir Putin, Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro, North Korea's Kim Jong-Un, and Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Scratching posts shaped after Putin and Kim are also available. Leaders were chosen based on their poor records on internet freedom.

"Our first run of cat litter trays featuring Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un have sold out and we've got a second batch arriving in the next few days," said Gloria Trapezaris, a spokesperson for the campaign. "We've also sold a few Erdogans and one El Sisi."

The scratching posts are being produced in a smaller batch — just one Putin and Kim. They cost £4,500 ($7,565) each.

"I'm aware it's pretty steep compared to what you'd normally pay for a scratching post!" Trapezaris said. "But they are unique artworks, not mass-manufactured products — hand made and hand painted, all designed to be 100% cat-proof and last just like a normal scratch post would."

Over the last several days, Facebook has been notifying users that they will only be able to message their friends and "the people you care about" — according to the app description on iTunes Store — via Facebook Messenger, the formerly optional external app the company rolled out in 2011.

And users are none too happy about it.

Facebook Messenger, now the top free app on iTunes, has 17,644 ratings and 13,369 reviews, and is averaging a lowly one star.

Sierra Games returns with new King’s Quest and Geometry Wars titles

If you're a PC gamer of a certain age, the name Sierra On-Line (or Sierra Entertainment) revives memories of some of the most classic point-and-click adventures of the late 20th century. New corporate owner Activision is set to reactivate those memories today, reviving the brand as "Sierra Games" and promising new games in the King's Quest and Geometry Wars franchises.

The new Sierra name will apparently serve as an umbrella for a number of independent studios to reinterpret some classic gaming franchises. The newest King's Quest entry is being developed for 2015 by The Odd Gentlemen, best known for esoteric puzzle platform game The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom. Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions, meanwhile, is being worked on by mobile/portable developer Lucid Games for this holiday season. No platforms have been announced for either title.

“Sierra’s goal is to find and work with gifted up-and-coming indie developers working on their own amazing projects or who are passionate about working on great Sierra IP,” a Sierra representative told GamesBeat. “We’re in talks with a large number of other indie devs, and we can’t wait to share more details with fans in the near future.”

Last Friday, Barnes & Nobles all over the country held a "Frozen Friday," where employees dressed up like characters from Frozen for the children in the area. This was one store's Olaf...

Users on Reddit started sharing some of their "Frozen Friday" horror stories. Some parents said they waited in line for two hours, only to see some not exactly enthusiastic cosplay.

This is also supposed to be Olaf.

This was a nationwide event which means that every store has to host one. The company sends a few things and then suggests 'optional' enhancements which the district manager can choose to reimburse or not. Ours didn't, and the event unfortunately is rated not by the fun people have or how many people, but by the sales bump it creates. We knew we were going to have 100+ people and I didn't want to have this terribly embarrassing event so I handmade 100 snowflakes, table signs, a costume, and wigs and we printed out and assembled tiaras and reindeer antlers for the children.

A Girl Swept Away In The 2004 Tsunami Has Amazingly Just Been Reunited With Her Family

A 14-year-old girl from Indonesia who was swept out of her house with her brother when the devastating 2004 tsunami struck Sumatra has incredibly been reunited with her parents this week.

Raudhatul Jannah’s family, who live in the West Aceh district, searched for her and her brother Arif Pratama Rangkuti for a month before giving up and believing they had been lost forever.

However in June of this year, the girl’s mother Jamaliah was told by her brother that miraculously her daughter might still be alive.

He had seen a girl walking to school who looked similar to Raudhatul, who was four years old when she was swept away.

The girl was reportedly found by a fisherman following the huge tsunami, which left thousands of people dead. He then handed her over to his mother who lives in the Aceh Barat Daya district.

Jamaliah traveled to the area following the tip-off and claimed the girl, now 14 years old, was indeed her daughter.

The family were reunited on Wednesday.

Speaking to AFP, Jamaliah said: "I am so grateful to God for reuniting us with our child after 10 years of being separated.

"My heart beat so fast when I saw her. I hugged her and she hugged me back and felt so comfortable in my arms.”

Jamaliah has said she is willing to undergo DNA tests if people doubt Raudhatu is her daughter.

She also believes he son survived the tsunami after Raudhatul told her they had been stranded on Banyak Island, 40km off the coast, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

"We will look for him on Banyak Island because we believe he is still alive," she is quoted by DPA News as saying.
