A Dog Used A Trampoline To Escape His Yard And Follow His Owner To Work

Philip.paulsson

Hahah nice.

Thomas McCormack was sitting on his train when his pup, Paddy, just came and sat down next to him.

SWNS

"I was just on my way to work and went to the train station," he told the Kirkintilloch Herald. "I jumped on the train and the next thing I know Paddy comes in and sits on the seat next to me. I was shocked. He just looked at me as if he was saying 'Where are you going?'"

McCormack and Paddy reenacted his journey in a video for SWNS.

The pup apparently had used a trampoline to hurl himself over a fence, and then tracked his owner all the way to his train car.

Review: Tesla’s new Model S P85D—double your engines, double your fun

by Lee Hutchinson
Philip.paulsson

Wow, that thing is FAST.

In its December 1997 issue, Road & Track published the first US road test of the otherworldly McLaren F1. The issue became one of the most famous in R&T’s history due to the 12+ page review of a car with which the stateside automotive press hadn’t yet had a chance to spend a few days of unchaperoned time. I can still remember the awe I felt learning daily-driver details about the famous 240mph Lamborghini destroyer. The review, done with a privately owned F1 on loan to the magazine, contained superlative after superlative; I remember reading with wide eyes about how the F1’s 627bhp BMW-built V-12 could rocket the car from 60 miles per hour to 160 miles per hour in the time it took to pour a glass of water.

"Surely," I thought as I read and re-read the review with the fervor that only a teenage boy could have for the hottest of hot cars, "I’ll go my whole life and never get the chance to drive anything even remotely that fast."

Turns out I was wrong—I had to wait 18 years.

What Happened When Brother Orange Came To America Is Almost As Crazy As The Rest Of This Insane Story

I took him to Chipotle, to meet my parents, and most importantly…told him something I should have told him from the very beginning. Is this even real life anymore? [This is the epic conclusion (?) to “I Followed My Stolen iPhone Across The World, Became A Celebrity In China, And Found A Friend For Life.”]

Will Varner/BuzzFeed

The hardest thing for me to wrap my head around with this whole saga (I'm calling it a saga now) is that it all happened because I lost my cell phone at a bar. The fact that a lost phone in a bar literally changed my life is actually insane. A LOST CELL PHONE made me famous in China, gave me a trip to China where I was treated like a straight-up deity, and most importantly (and strangely) started a friendship with a middle-aged Chinese man named Brother Orange. My best friend for the past two months is a man named Brother Orange.

Thank you, Steve Jobs!

My iPhone

My last moment in China was like an ending to one of those movies where a normal person gets caught up in some *insane experience* and spends the whole movie killing a pack of aliens or something. They stop at a gas station and they're buying a soda and a Slim Jim when the cashier says, "Hello, young man! How's it going today?" The normal person who literally just killed 100 aliens and saved all of humankind says something like, "Oh, it's been good day." They look to the camera and wink. The scene fades out. "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" plays. *Credits roll*

That's basically what happened to me when I left China...the first time.

After flash floods devastated a Colombian town earlier this week, police scrambled to rescue a dog caught in rushing waters.

This week heavy rains triggered a landslide that rushed through Salgar, Colombia. At least 60 people have died, the BBC reports.

Here's Who Spotify Thinks Is Going To Win Eurovision 2015

Who should you put your money on to win Eurovision? Here the top ten most streamed songs on Spotify – which could be a useful guide to how Europe might vote.

Spotify compiled the data to exclude streams from an artists's home country (because, of course, they can't vote for themselves) – so it's probably a pretty good guide to which songs Europe likes most in advance of the final.

But then again, Spotify wasn't the best guide to how people would actually vote last year – it only had Conchita Wurst coming in eigthth place, and tipped Denmark's entry to win (they eventually came in ninth).

Also, yesterday we looked at which artists were the most Googled in each country across Europe (which predicted a bit win for Russia.)

Andres Putting (EBU)

Sweden – Måns Zelmerlöw, "Heroes"

Sweden – Måns Zelmerlöw, "Heroes"

Måns is also the bookies' favourite to capture the third Scandinavian win in four years. Big chorus. Opening line is "Don't tell the gods I left a mess."

Per Kristiansen

Australia – Guy Sebastian, "Tonight Again"

Australia's entry is obviously attracting a lot of attention, what with them NOT BEING IN EUROPE OR ANYTHING. Upbeat, budget Bruno Mars vibe. Stands a decent chance.

An extra 6,500 words have been added to the official Scrabble wordlist, including a host of modern terms such as ridic, lolz, emoji and sexting.

The list of approved terms in the popular board game now includes a quarter of million words, The Guardian reported.

The new words, announced on Thursday, mainly come from sectors such as technology, social media and sport.

Other additions include cakehole (17 points), podiumed (14 points) and tunage (8 points).

Dench (11 points), a term coined by the rapper Lethal Bizzle to mean "excellent", has also made its way in.

“Dictionaries have always included formal and informal English but it used to be hard to find printed evidence of the use of slang words,” Helen Newstead, head of language content at Collins, said.

“Now people use slang in social media posts, tweets, blogs, comments, text messages – you name it – so there’s a host of evidence for informal varieties of English that simply didn’t exist before.”

Google reportedly cutting photo service loose from stagnating Google+

by Ron Amadeo
Philip.paulsson

Welcome back, Picasa?

A report from Bloomberg claims that Google is close to revamping its photo service and will "probably" launch the new product at Google I/O.

Currently Google offers a photo service called "Google+ Photos," which ships with every Google Play Android device and automatically backs up pictures to Google cloud storage. Bloomberg says the new photo service will no longer be part of Google+, though, making Photos the latest in a string of features that have been parted out from the struggling social network.

With the Google+ dependency out of the way, the new photo service will integrate with other social networks, letting users post to Facebook and Twitter. Google+ Photos also recently integrated with Google Drive, allowing users to easily download their photos on a desktop computer.
