News in Brief: Beefy Little Boy On Boogie Board Misses Fourth Wave In A Row

Philip.paulsson

Hahah sad.

GARDEN CITY, SC—Struggling to propel his husky frame through the water with the correct momentum and timing needed to be carried toward shore, a beefy little boy on a boogie board at Garden City Beach reportedly missed his fourth wave in a row Monday afternoon. Witnesses confirmed that the little butterball, who reportedly began huffing and puffing after barely wading into the water up to his roly-poly waist, was seen heaving his entire fleshy stomach onto his board either a second too early or too late to catch the crest of each wave that came rolling by. Although the total chubster’s beady little eyes are said to have grown wide with anticipation at the sight of every oncoming wave, the porker’s practice of taking a huge breath, scrunching up his whole piggy face, and vaulting his hefty body forward had reportedly failed in all four attempts. Watch the incredible Koenigsegg One 'megacar' set new speed record (and it was only practising for a record attempt)

Philip.paulsson

Swiss != Swedish
More like DailyFAIL amirite???

  • Koenigsegg One:1 Megacar, reached 0-300-0 kmh in just 17.95 seconds
  • Time cuts 3.24 seconds from what was considered to an unbeatable time
  • 1340bhp car will go from 0-250mph in 20 secs - and just six will be made

A Swiss 'megacar' has smashed the world speed record for a production car - while practising for a record attempt.

The car smashed the existing production car record by accelerating from standstill to 0-300kmh, and back down to zero again, in just 17.95 seconds.

The Koenigsegg One:1 Megacar should go even faster in the future, its makers say - but only six will be made, and they have all been sold already.

The Swiss car smashed the existing production car record by accelerateing from standstill to 0-300kmh, and back down to zero again, in just 17.95 seconds.

ONE:1 SPECS

'The time achieved by the Koenigsegg One:1 cuts a full 3.24 seconds from what was already considered to be an unbeatable time,' the firm said.

It refuses to reveal the cost of the car.

The record-beating run was one of a series of runs conducted in a practice session at the Koenigsegg test track in Ängelholm, Sweden.

Koenigsegg first took the record in September 2011 when it set a Guinness World Record time of 21.19 seconds for the 0-300-0 kmh run in the Koenigsegg Agera R.

This latest session follows recent track testing that revealed impressive performances and unofficial production car lap records at Suzuka Circuit and Spa-Francorchamps.

'It should be noted that this run was just one of many in the four hour session and that faster individual stages, e.g. 0-100 and 100-200, were recorded through the session.

'In fact, if we piece together all the fastest individual acceleration and deceleration stages from the day, the theoretical 0-300-0 kmh time would be a staggering 17.49 seconds.'

The firm also said it had room for improvement in future runs.

'Note, too, that the One:1 development car is actually around 50kg heavier than customer cars due to the roll cage and other weight savings that were made to customer cars in series production.

'The roll cage in our One:1 development car is there for safety reasons.

'We think that an even lower time is a distinct possibility with the Koenigsegg One:1 and we will do our best to schedule another session in the near future.'

The session was conducted on Monday, June 8 2015, from 6pm to 10pm.

The driver was Koenigsegg factory test driver, Robert Serwanski.

The Koenigsegg test track is a straight 1.5km runway surface with no gradient along the length of the track.

The track was dry and the run shown in the video was conducted at 9:53pm on June 8, 2015.

The One:1 was introduced in 2014 and was built in 6 examples, plus one prototype during 2014 and 2015.

It was one of the most exclusive production car programs ever envisaged in the car industry

The hp to kg curb weight ratio is an astonishing 1:1.

This is the 'dream' equation, previously thought impossible when it comes to fully road legal and usable sportscars.

On top of this, the One:1 is the first homologated production car in the world with one Megawatt of power, thereby making it the world´s first series produced Megacar.

It has large air vents for improved cooling, a roof air scoop to support the 1 Megawatt of power, 8250 RPM rev limit.

It also boasts custom made Michelin Cup Tires, upgraded rear triplex suspension with carbon bevel springs and active shock absorbers and ride height, combined with upgraded revolutionary Koenigsegg Aircore carbon fiber wheels.

This Hapless Tourist Almost Got Trampled By The Queen's Guard Outside Buckingham Palace

by Richard James

“Being ex-military myself I’m more embarrassed than anything else.”

A tourist has spoken of his embarrassment after almost being flattened by a troop of Queen’s Guard soldiers outside Buckingham Palace.

youtube.com

A video of the incident in central London at the weekend has already been watched 1.5 million times on YouTube.

The man in the viral clip has been named as 58-year-old Gerry Weatherhead, MailOnline reported.

The retired RAF engineer from Haverhill, in Suffolk, told the website he had been in London with his wife and they'd decided to go see the Trooping of the Colour.

He took some photos of the royal family at The Mall and then walked through St James's Park, he said.

“To be honest with you I was dying for a pee and with all the noise and the chatter I didn’t hear them [the soldiers] coming – and that’s when all hell broke loose,” he told MailOnline.

"When the soldier bumped into me I initially thought a horse had walked into me."

Weatherhead was rather red-faced about the incident due to his previous occupation. "Being ex-military myself I'm more embarrassed than anything else," he said.

The 58-year-old said it could have helped if the soldiers have alerted him sooner, but conceded it had been his fault the collision occurred.
