Nest Folders Inside of Folders in iOS 9
ThePrettiestOneArticles like this one are a sterling example of why I'm disinclined to move from using a desktop computer to anything mobile. Seriously, the idea that this is an "advance" is terrifying.

With every release of iOS, we seem to get a new way to nest folders inside of folders. With iOS 9, Youtuber videosdebarraquito shows that it’s easier than ever.

i would literally rather have darth vader be our next president than donald trump. if darth vader ran in the 2016 elections, and it came down to him and donald trump, i would vote for darth vader without even thinking
this post is interesting because it implies a future in which darth vader won the democratic primary
No but this could totally be a thing.
Like he’d look at gay marriage and be like “I too have known what it’s like to not be able to get married simply because of who you are.” Marriage for everybody.
He’s pro gun-control. Light sabers are much more elegant weapons, anyway.
He’d probably be for raising the minimum wage. He grew up a slave, living in the worse kind of poverty. He knows how important it is for single mothers to be able to support their children.
Darth Vader: a Force We Can Count On.
can this be real?
Darth Vader was a better human being than Donald Trump and that is truly amazing
he murdered children with a laser sword
We don’t have any real proof that Trump hasn’t murdered children with a laser sword. He needs to provide documentation on that. Some kind of certificate. Until then, I won’t believe him. America deserves the truth.
i guarantee you trumps corporate practices have murdered more children than anakins laser sword ever did

"The chances of getting shot by a female cop are slim, and it’s not just because there are so few..."
The chances of getting shot by a female cop are slim, and it’s not just because there are so few women in police departments. Data show that female cops discharge their firearms at rates far below their male counterparts, face significantly fewer civilian complaints and are less likely than men to resort to unnecessary physical force when arresting someone.
The evidence is not just statistical. As a veteran female officer explained recently, speaking on condition of anonymity to avoid damaging relationships with her colleagues, “I’ve never been in a fight on my own, because I never had to. I’ve only been in fights instigated by my male counterparts.”
Studies also show that female police officers are more inclined to view their job as a public service than men do and are better at communication, de-escalation and trust building — all hallmarks of community policing.

Why in the hell did it take a random viral video for McGraw-Hill to fix this mistake on slavery?
ThePrettiestOneOK, I can't apologize for Texas. They know what they've done. There's no excuses there.
Disgusted at what she saw in her ninth-grade son's high school geography textbook, Roni Dean-Burren took to Facebook to express how outraged she was to see the horrors of American slavery glossed over and rewritten. Her video, seen below, has received nearly 2 million views, sparked a serious nationwide dialogue, and finally garnered a response from McGraw-Hill, the maker of the textbook itself.

Why I stand with Planned Parenthood
ThePrettiestOnePlanned Parenthood is amazing.
Multiple gynos refused me an IUD because “oh, it hurts so much to put in when you’ve had kids! We don’t want to put you in pain!!”
I was at a 7-9 on the pain scale regularly for my periods, and the docs were determined to make me run the gauntlet.
“But what about the pill?”
“Symptom-swap.”
“Have you thought about depo?”
“Mood drop.”
“And the patch?”
“Family history of breaking out in rashes.”
“Well, what about the nuva ring?”
“How will that NOT give me the same symptom-swap issues?”
“…”
“Look, I’m in pain so bad I wake up in the middle of the night. I’m in pain so bad I didn’t know I had appendecitis. I need SOMETHING.”
“Have you tried an ibuprofen protocol?”
“YES.”
“There are yoga poses that help with cramping.”
“I can’t uncurl from the ball of pain I’m in. How the hell am I supposed to hold position?”
“Well, how much caffeine do you drink? That could be a factor.”
“I have three cups of coffee a day and drink lots of water.”
And so on.
Then, one day, I made an appointment and went to Planned Parenthood.
“Yeah. Hi. I have incredibly painful periods that are fucking crippling me, and I need an IUD.”
“Okay. Do you have a chart of your periods I can look at?”
“Yup.”
“Okay. Looks like you have regular, heavy periods where the pain is worsening. Is that right?”
“Yup. And the fatigue. And the mood swings. And all of it.”
“Fatigue and mood swings, too?”
“Yup.”
“…is there any history of endometriosis in your family?”
“Yup. I’ve never been diagnosed, though. They say it takes a biopsy.”
“The biopsy can confirm tissue, but if you don’t have excess tissue, it doesn’t really help. You can have endo without excess tissue.”
“Okay. So, what are my options?”
“I suggest Mirena. Paraguard can make period symptoms worse even though it’s got no hormones while Mirena has a low-dose hormone that should help with all your pain and other issues. Here’s all the info on both of them. Here are models of both of them. Why don’t you take everything with you, read through it, then call if you have any questions? We can go ahead and schedule for insertion before you leave, and you can just call and say which type you want after you’ve read up. Is that okay?”
“…Yeah. That’s. That’s fine.”
“Do you have any questions right now?”
“Um, I got told a bunch I shouldn’t get an IUD because the insertion will hurt too much because I haven’t had kids.”
“Looking at the pain you’re usually in, I think you can handle it. It will definitely hurt, but it should only last about twenty seconds.”
“Twenty seconds?”
“Yes.”
“I’ve been refused the best option for dealing with my symptoms because of TWENTY SECONDS?!”
“Sadly, we hear that a lot.”
Planned Parenthood treated me like a PERSON who was in pain, not a walking uterus bitching and moaning about womanly things. Planned Parenthood showed me respect and kindness and respected the knowledge I brought of my own medical history to the conversation. Planned Parenthood respected my autonomy where other doctors rarely had and paid attention when I explained why I felt the IUD was the best choice. Planned Parenthood showed me I mattered, and I want to show how much they matter to me.

Gorgeous Vertical Panoramas That Offer an Extraordinary View of Churches Around the World
ThePrettiestOneWell, that was a rather dizzying scroll
Photographer Richard Silver has created the amazing photo series “Vertical Churches” that encompasses absolutely gorgeous vertical panoramas of the beautifully ornate houses of worship that he’s visited around the world. Silver started this project in 2012 in his hometown of New York City and has since visited at least 75 countries and 220 cities.
Back in 2012 I figured out this unique way of photographing Churches, it all started in New York. Since then I have traveled to many different cities and countries around the world and have continued to work on this project. This is many of my completed works over the past year or so.

poopcop: salon: A few years ago I was invited to speak to a...

A few years ago I was invited to speak to a group of employees at a power plant who were considering whether to form a union. One young man who intended to vote against it told me he was worth no more than the fourteen dollars an hour he was then paid. “I say for these people making their millions, that’s fantastic. I could have done the same thing if I went to school and had the brains for it. I do not, so I’m a laborer.”
The man apparently had no knowledge of the 1950s, when more than 30 percent of the nation’s private-sector workforce was unionized. That gave the nation’s blue-collar laborers enough bargaining power to summon the equivalent (on average, and in today’s dollars) of thirty dollars an hour—even though many hadn’t finished high school. It wasn’t their brains that accomplished this. It was their bargaining clout. But the power of trade unions to negotiate good wages for hourly workers has declined markedly since then. That’s why the young man I met was “worth” no more than fourteen dollars an hour.
Yet the notion that you’re paid what you’re “worth” is by now so deeply ingrained in the public consciousness that many who earn very little assume it’s their own fault. They feel ashamed of what they see as a personal failure—a lack of brains or a deficiency of character. The same notion allows those who earn vast sums to believe they must be extraordinarily clever, daring, and superior; otherwise, they wouldn’t be doing so well. This reassuring conviction seemingly justifies not only their great wealth but also their high status in society. They would prefer not to view their money as winnings in an economic contest over whose rules they and others like them have disproportionate influence. Presumably they would prefer the public not to see it that way, either.
The rich aren’t smarter than us and they don’t do more for society. We must rethink how people get paid…
The fact that that guy thinks he’s only worth 13 dollars an hour essentially bc he didn’t go to college or “work hard enough” (I guarantee you he works a hundred times harder than those pricks up there) makes me really really sad and angry
