by Guilherme Dantas

Which Eccentric Millionaire Will Buy This Nearly Complete Diplodocus Skeleton That's Going Up for Auction?

by Andrew Liszewski on Gizmodo, shared by Cheryl Eddy to io9

Thanks to modern paleontology techniques, finding dinosaur fossils isn’t as difficult or random as it once was. There are now more skeletons to go around, but unfortunately, based on an upcoming auction at the Parisian auction house Aguttes, you’ll still need a couple million dollars of disposable cash to add a…

Highly Watchable: Low Budget Remake Of Scenes From The Matrix

This is 'The Matrix low cost version' from Youtube channel Studio 188. It's a series of Sweded scenes from the movie. If you're into this sort of thing I also included some of the other movies and trailers they've recreated, including Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King, Terminator 2, Star Wars: A New Hope, The Fifth Element, and The Avengers: Engame. There are even more than that though so feel free to go nuts watching them all and not even do any actual work at work today. I mean, not that you were going to anyways. *elbow nudge* Am I right? "I take my job very seriously." Oh, totally, me too *Xeroxes butt, faxes to Russia* Keep going for the videos.

Clever Girl: Australian Sheperd Dog Plays Jenga With Owner

This is an Instagram video of Australian Sheperd and very good girl Secret (previously seen taking herself sledding) playing a game of Jenga with her owner Mary. Granted neither is returning the blocks to the top of the tower after pulling them, but I guess they're playing by dog rules. For reference, my dogs would chew all those blocks to splinters because they hate losing and are just poor sports in general but I love them dearly and wouldn't have it any other way. Besides, there's no question they learned that from me anyways. Keep going for the video.

Whee!: Jellyfish Gets Caught In Rapidly Spinning Bubble Ring

Seen here in what I assume is a leaked scene from Finding Nemo 2: Dammit, I Thought I Told You To Stay Put , this is a video of a little jellyfish getting caught in a rapidly spinning bubble ring blown by a snorkeler off the coast of Spain. Now I'm not saying that snorkeler intentionally blew that bubble ring at that jellyfish, but they 100% did. And people wonder why the oceanic deep state is committed to raising earth's temperature and flooding the planet again. Keep going for the video.

The Idea Behind Russell T Davies' New Dystopian Drama Was Almost a Torchwood Ending

by James Whitbrook

Russell T Davies’ new drama series Years and Years is based on an idea the writer has had for decades. He’d always imagined it to be its own project, but when trying to find an ending to Torchwood’s third season, the miniseries Children of Earth, there was a brief moment when his long-gestating idea almost became a…

Scientists Are Stuck on the Mystery of Tape

by Ryan F. Mandelbaum on Gizmodo, shared by Cheryl Eddy to io9

There’s a certain patience required for studying sticky tape. Sure, sometimes experiments require peeling, but other times, researchers must simply sit around and wait for the adhesive to fail. These experiments are bringing scientists closer to something that doesn’t yet exist: a unified theory of tape.

by Arieta Pheula

The Giant Heads of Easter Islands Have Bodies

by Franzified

Most, if not all of us, have encountered a picture of the giant stone heads in Easter Island at least once in our life. But to those who have seen those pictures, did you know that these heads have torsos as well? It was just buried the whole time (well, until the archaeologists excavated them).

The large stone statues, or moai, for which Easter Island is famous, were carved during the period A.D. 1100–1680 (rectified radio-carbon dates). A total of 887 monolithic stone statues have been inventoried on the island and in museum collections.
Although often identified as “Easter Island heads,” the statues have torsos, most of them ending at the top of the thighs, although a small number are complete figures that kneel on bent knees with their hands over their stomachs. Some upright moai have become buried up to their necks by shifting soils.

Video game architecture is an art form within itself.

Video game designers aren't faced with the same limitations of real-world architects, allowing them to create jaw-dropping buildings. From medieval towns to post-apocalyptic cities, these structures make the video games immersive, credible and memorable.

This project celebrates the architectural achievements of some of the most influential video games around – in voxel art style.

Heck Yeah: Video From This Year's Easter Fireworks Battle In Chios, Greece

Because church isn't entirely about getting reprimanded for drinking too much blood at communion, this is a video of the annual Rouketopolemos fireworks battle between two rival congregations on the Greek island of Chios. The 50,000+ firework battle takes place the night before Easter every year and, from what I gathered from the video, the object is to try to hit Hogwarts Castle as many times as possible.

by Daiane de Mario

Se o seu instrumento de escrita não custou tanto quanto um automóvel de luxo, você não tem o Game of Thrones “Winter is Here” Montegrappa 18k Gold Pen. Sim, esta caneta “Winter Is Here” é linda – e cara.

Game Of Thrones Inspired 3-D Printed Fire Breathing Dragon Lamps

fire-breathing-dragon-lamp-1.jpg This is one of the $52 Game Of Thrones inspired fire breathing dragon lamps 3-D printed and sold by Bulgarian Etsy shop Kvant3dPrinting. They're available in fire breath colors of blue, red, or white, and, unfortunately for anybody who doesn't live in a country that uses F style electric plugs, will require a converter to use. Plug options would have been nice. And I'm not just saying that because the last time I tried making my own adapter out of fork tines that things didn't go according to plan, but-- "Fireworks?" Like the 4th of July in my hand. Keep going for a handful more product shots.
