Custom Electric Guitars Shaped Like Spaceships From ‘Star Wars’

by Justin Page

Star Wars Guitars

UK-based Tom Bingham, a 64-year-old retired printer, created an impressive collection of custom made electric guitars in the shape of various spaceships from Star Wars (Y-wing Starfighter, Millennium Falcon and B-wing fighter). According to The Sun, Tom spends approximately three months building his guitars and uses items that he buys from car boot sales.

“I saw a picture of a Millennium Falcon on the internet years ago and did my own version. I used a replica and attached a neck to it. With the Falcon I even put flashing LED lights in the back. It lights up blue in the dark, it gives it a hyperdrive look. The kids love it. The important thing is you have to make the body very rigid. I had to take the Millennium Falcon kits apart to their 140 odd pieces and rebuild it so it supports the neck I attached it to. It isn’t easy and took hours painstakingly building it every day.”

Here is a great video from SWNS.com showing Tom’s Millenium Falcom guitar (plus many others) in action.

Shadowrun Returns' non-Kickstarter reward DLC to require Steam, DRM

by Jordan Mallory

LOLOLOLOL OF COURSE
WEISMANNNNNN~

Shadowrun Returns' postBerlin Campaign DLC to require Steam, DRM During last year's Kickstarter campaign for Shadownrun Returns, developer Harebrained Schemes was dutiful in noting that every pledge level included a DRM-free version of the game. While that technically remains true, Harebrained Schemes has recently announced a slight caveat: All post-Berlin Campaign DLC will have DRM, and will require Steam.

It shakes out like this: Backers will receive both a DRM-free version and the Steam version of Shadowrun Returns (which does have DRM) when the game launches in June. Additionally, anyone who pledged enough to receive the game's Berlin Campaign DLC will also be given permanent access to both versions. After that, however, all DLC will be distributed exclusively through Steam, DRM in tow.

"The reason is that our license to develop Shadowrun Returns actually requires that the game and its DLC be distributed under DRM," a Kickstarter update on the situation reads. "This didn't come up earlier because the situation was complicated by the number of parties involved in the license and because the process was 'ongoing.'"

"Ultimately," it continues, "we were able to successfully negotiate an exception with Microsoft for us to provide our Backers with a DRM-free version of the Kickstarter rewards (specifically the game and the Berlin Campaign) but that exception does not extend to non-reward DLC. So unfortunately, we cannot sell or give away DRM-free versions of the game or DLC on stores like GoG, and that's why any future Shadowrun Returns DLC will only be available for purchase on Steam."

A table posted by Harebrained Schemes, illustrating the specific differences between the Steam and DRM-free versions of the game, has been embedded after the break.

[Thanks, Travis!]

Repo Man Director Alex Cox Plans To Edit Next Film With OpenShot

by timothy
New submitter JonOomph writes "Director Alex Cox, the creator of Repo Man and Sid and Nancy, is making plans via Kickstarter for his next film, Bill, the Galactic Hero, a feature-length science fiction comedy set in the far reaches of our galaxy. He is challenging the norm by shooting the film on 35mm monochrome (black and white) film, possibly the last film to ever attempt this, and possibly the first feature film to be edited with popular open source video editor OpenShot." If you don't like spoilers, I suggest reading this short but fascinating piece on Repo Man (one of my all-time favorite movies) only after watching it.

"my head is spinning from the pain meds and I’m wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what’s the purpose of social media if I won’t bring it to you Real No Image??"

This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I’ve done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I’m supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??

I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me…Then again maybe not! It’s 3:30am, my foot feels like dead weight, my head is spinning from the pain meds and I’m wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what’s the purpose of social media if I won’t bring it to you Real No Image?? Feels good to vent, let it out. To feel as if THIS is the WORST thing EVER! Because After ALL the venting, a real perspective sets in. There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever.

One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day.

“If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear”. Ive always loved that quote. Thats “mamba mentality” we don’t quit, we don’t cower, we don’t run. We endure and conquer.

I know it’s a long post but I’m Facebook Venting LOL. Maybe now I can actually get some sleep and be excited for surgery tomorrow. First step of a new challenge.

Guess I will be Coach Vino the rest of this season. I have faith in my teammates. They will come thru.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. Much Love Always.

Mamba Out

Korg M01D waits for the drop on 3DS eShop this summer

by David Hinkle

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Korg M01D synthesizer coming to 3DS eShop
The Korg M01D synthesizer suite for 3DS is coming to the eShop this summer, Detune has announced.

M01D is a full music-creation tool with lots of sample beats and sounds to draw from. You can share music files over Wi-Fi and even save files to an SD card for quick importing into your favorite editing program.

Detune has revealed no price for Korg M01D at this time, but it's set to launch in Japan next month so perhaps that will give us an idea. Korg M01D is an improved version of Korg M01, which launched in Japan back in 2010 and never made its way over to the States. Korg M01D's predecessors include the DS-exclusive Korg DS-10 and improved Korg DS-10 Plus, both published in North America by XSeed.

Starbound Pre-Orders Prove Somewhat Popular

by Jim Rossignol

By Jim Rossignol on April 13th, 2013 at 12:46 pm.

Starbound, which we’ve talked about previously, is said to be a “spiritual successor” (although not directly affiliated) to the enormously popular Terraria. This sentiment bodes well for the game as its pre-orders, which have only been open since last night, have already raised an exceptional $159,799 at the time of writing. That’s a figure that’s fast increasing. That’s a figure that – hand in hand with Prison Architect – show that you don’t need to rely on Kickstarter if you have the right game. Starbound is due to have a beta this year, and pre-ordering persons will gain access when that appears.

Below here lies a video that will give you a taste of what’s in store.
