The app, ReadWrite has confirmed, strips out YouTube ads when it plays back videos and allows users to easily download video by way of a prominent 'download' button."

Tesla’s Elon Musk Leaves Zuckerberg’s Fwd.us - NYTimes.com:

The advocacy group, Fwd.us, is spearheaded by Facebook’s co-founder and chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, and counts many tech industry executives among its supporters. To drum up political support for overhauling immigration law, the group has bankrolled ads for lawmakers who support the Keystone XL oil pipeline, a lightning-rod issue for environmentalists.

¶ A spokeswoman for Mr. Musk’s second company, SpaceX, a rocket manufacturer, confirmed that he was no longer involved with Fwd.us, but declined to elaborate. The news was first reported Friday evening by Reuters.

¶ The Reuters report said that David Sacks, chief executive of Yammer, a social networking company, had also withdrawn support.

Brand Eating is reporting that Taco Bell is testing out a sweet and savory Waffle Taco on its breakfast menu in at least one Southern California location. On Instagram, fast food aficionado Sarah Chavez posted a photo of the test product which she says she shot at the Taco Bell on Jamboree Road in Newport Beach, California. Brand Eating says the Waffle Taco is a folded waffle (to form the ‘taco shell’) filled with sausage and scrambled eggs and comes with a packet of syrup on the side. Chavez says, “It was awesome!”

After coming under fire by animal rights activists and receiving numerous threats, the Tampa, FL restaurant Taco Fusion decided to discontinue its $35 taco made with meat from a lion.

Less than a year after a masked gunman killed 12 people and wounded 58 others at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, the management of a Missouri theater paid an actor — or, rather, actors — dressed in tactical gear and carrying fake guns to walk into the multiplex last weekend to promote the opening of Iron Man 3. Needless to say, it wasn’t well-received by everyone, including the police.

Columbia, Missouri’s ABC 17 News reports Jefferson City police responded to a series of 911 calls from moviegoers stating “that a man dressed in all black and body armor and a rifle was walking into Capital 8 Theaters.” However, instead of confronting the active shooter that they expected, Capt. Doug Shoemaker said police arrived to find a publicity stunt orchestrated by the theater.

“Everything was in place, it’s the opening night of a superhero movie, it’s somebody walking in all-dark clothes, everything pointed to bad things about to happen,” he told the news station. “There’s really no good that can come of this.”

According to a commenter on the station’s website, the theater actually hired multiple actors, including one in an Iron Man costume, to appear over several evenings, and that, “Their fake guns were obviously plastic, with bright orange tips and one with a completely clear outer case.” Although the news coverage doesn’t reflect any of that, there are photos from at least one of the nights (via Reddit) showing the actors posing together.

Theater manager Bob Wilkins is unapologetic, and apparently oblivious to the tragedy that could have unfolded at the premiere. He told ABC 17 he had no regrets about the publicity stunt, which had been planned well in advance of the screening. “No, my job is to entertain people,” he said.

Shoemaker, whose department held an active-shooter training at the theater only months earlier, said it was fortunate an off-duty officer wasn’t at the multiplex, as the cop likely would’ve engaged the “gunman.” It’s not difficult to imagine how events might’ve unfolded from there.

“It’s an unfortunate lack of wisdom in this particular judgment that hopefully will never occur again,” Shoemaker concluded.

ClippingMagic is a browser-based tool created by James Diebel and Jacob Norda that allows users to remove unwanted parts of an image — for example the background — using simple red and green masking brushes. Users can then save the edited image and share a download link with others. ClippingMagic is currently in Alpha, and its creators are working to improve functionality with hair, blurry boundaries, and other visually complicated scenarios.

Former Sony Computer Entertainment chairman and CEO Ken Kutaragi has joined Marvelous AQL as an External Director, according to a Nikkei report. Kutaragi played a significant role in the PlayStation's formative years, and later headed up development of the PlayStation 2 and PS3. He retired from Sony in 2007, but remained as an advisor and SCEI's honorary chairman until 2011.

Marvelous AQL co-developed the recent PS Vita release Soul Sacrifice, and created 2012's 3DS farming sim Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning. Marvelous subsidiary Xseed recently purchased Atlus Online, rebranding itself as Marvelous USA earlier this month.
