Ivan Watson, a correspondent for CNN reporting from Istanbul, Turkey, was delivering a report on the heavy police presence on the one-year anniversary of the Taksim Square protests, when he was taken in by authorities on live TV.

I have no idea if there’s any plans for anything like that at all, unfortunately. My understanding is that Gotham Central is currently out of print (which seems silly to me, as it’s been an evergreen for them, and if nothing else, it’s got Brubaker’s name on it, which kinda guarantees it’ll sell), but that may be due to the upcoming Gotham show. Hopefully they’ll re-release the series when that debuts.

I don’t know Zirin’s work, at least not by name. The book sounds fascinating, and probably depressing as all hell. I’ll make a point of seeking it out — thank you!

I MEAN WORDS FAIL. This is a promo for FASA’S tabletop cyberpunk themed RPG game “Shadowrun”. Utilizing a cable access/porn aesthetic this promo makes a valiant attempt at capturing the gritty and urban feel of the game’s futuristic and bleak setting. It has charm if nothing else. I am a huge fan of the SNES Shadowrun video game released in 1993 and I still play it today. I haven’t gotten around to trying out the recently released Shadowrun Returns but I am itching to play it. 

I wanna play Shadowrun so bad…

An anonymous reader writes "Peter Sunde was arrested today in a police raid in southern Sweden. The Pirate Bay co-founder was wanted by Interpol as he had yet to serve prison time for his involvement with the site. Sunde's arrest comes exactly eight years after the police raided the Pirate Bay servers, which marked the start of the criminal prosecution against the site's founders." From the article: "While details are scarce at the moment, the Swedish newspaper Expressen reports that the arrest has been confirmed by the Swedish authorities. According to Peter Althin, Sunde’s lawyer, the news means that his client will most likely be sent to prison to serve his 8-month sentence. This script is a response to a comment by Omer Shapira that the presence of Google Glass worn by audience at an ITP graduate exhibition left him feeling understandably uneasy; it was not possible to know whether they were recording, or even streaming what they were recording to a remote service over WiFi.
