Your mother always told you to pay proper attention to your packing, didn’t she? But did you listen? No, you did not, and now look what’s happened. You’re in Reykjavík, the things on the end of your legs that used to be feet are now frozen lumps of meat covered in canvas Converse, your skinny jeans are soaked up to your knees, and everyone is pointing and laughing.
Dry those stinging tears of embarrassment and slosh over to SUIT on Skólavörðustígur 6, where they have all the necessary gentleman’s apparel to have you looking the business again. The shop has been designed by HAF Studio – fast becoming one of our favourite Reykjavík studios, and the talent behind the city’s Lights Hotel and seafood restaurant MAR – and the idea was to mirror the clothing brand’s raw and rough character in the interior. To that end, OSB wood cladding and matte metal cage-like lattices have been paired with ceramic tiles to put a bit of gloss on proceedings.
