Review: Windows 10
jlrgdsAn interesting pro-windows 10. Might need to get a microphone for cortana.

Windows 10 fixes what ailed Windows 8, and tries some big new things too.

Google Drive syncs files directly from Windows Office apps
jlrgdsNice, i like this better than importing and converting from drive files to office files. It's easy to do, but then you have copies of both floating around places. Nice to see more integration.

Lenovo is the latest to hop on the PC-on-a-stick bandwagon
jlrgdsNeat. Weak computer specs, but maybe a better option than lugging a laptop around whenever we go places. We'd only really need wireless mouse and keyboard. For only ~110 bucks, it seems like an okay deal.
Hulu hooks up with Showtime to make internet TV more like cable
jlrgdsa thought, at a premium, i wonder if there'll be a huge backlog of shows, or if we'll need to keep up with the current series like the standard hulu model currently is.

Rape Scenes Aren’t Just Awful. They’re Lazy Writing

Here's why rape storylines are a bad idea---and just plain lazy.

Go See Terminator Genisys—Then Promptly Forget About It
jlrgdsTime travel movies always creates self-imploding plot holes.

The latest humans vs. Skynet flick is a cat's cradle of confusing storylines, but it's also a decent way to spend two hours.

Facebook lets users 'celebrate pride' with rainbow filter
jlrgdsI like the support, don't get me wrong... but I feel like... this support happens after the ruling... Where was this support when it still was/is an issue, before the fact. i.e. Facebook should have opted this option before the court rule to drum up support.

Amazon hopes to mend its image by backing a giant solar farm
jlrgdsThink it's odd that Amazon is getting shit for not having green energy. I mean, it used coal? So does the half the country. It's inevitable. But they need to make an image? I'm glad that they are doing it, but this makes it feel like an ingenuous pr stunt.

Charter and Time Warner Cable agree on $55 billion merger
jlrgdsMeh, I'm glad the Comcast TWC deal fell through, but I don't like the idea of Charter and TWC connecting forces either. I'm glad it's not Comcast and Charter in bed together however as TWC is the lesser of the evils. I prefer to keep them separate and maintain the illusion of a lack of a monopoly. More competition is always better for the consumers.
WTF, 'Clickbait' and 'Emoji' are now officially words?
jlrgdsThere's a part of me that groans with the additions of words added to the dictionary. I remember laughing when "Jiggy" got added back in the late 90s when Will Smith's song "Jiggy with it" came out. But there's something that I like about it too. That our current language is still alive and evolving, there's a beauty in that as well. I may scoff at using "YOLO" which is really an acronym, but I like the differences between written and colloquial english lines blur as internet and texting muddy the water. I like seeing the english language almost as a living, breathing, evolving entity.

Surprise: Frank Miller Is Returning to the Dark Knight Saga
jlrgdsI've read and reread The Dark Knight Strikes Back... well over a dozen times. I coveted it as one of the few comic books I had growing up. Never realized that there was a sequel to it which I haven't read. "The Dark Knight Strikes Back" which came out in 2004, (while I've seen the cover), completely slipped out of my radar. And 11 years later will be the 3rd part in the series. Yikes. Am excited, gotta catch up.

Thirty years after his seminal Batman miniseries The Dark Knight, the comics legend is coming back to wrap up the Crusader's darkest timeline.

LED Bulbs Are Now Two for $5—Officially Too Cheap to Ignore
jlrgdsKeep an eye out 2/$5 is crazy good, supposedly also up to 5000k color temp as well. @Home Depot, not sure if available online either. Either way, a stockup of these will be nice.

A new 60-watt equivalent LED bulb from Philips could be what finally convinces you to upgrade your lamps.
