C'mon and SLAM! There's an NBA2k13 Space Jam mod

by Steven Hansen

I'm not sure how this eluded me for three months, but I am here to make amends.

Why there's no Quad City DJs pumped over the boring in-game audio I don't know, but this is a thing of beauty all the same.

Game jams are such a huge thing these days -- let's see a Space Jam game jam, please.

This Customer Can Go Truck Himself

Pizza Place | Boise, ID, USA

Caller: “I want to order pizza. I’m f***ing hungry.”

Me: “Okay, let’s get your details. What’s your address?”

Caller: “Exit 49.”

Me: “Um, that’s not a complete address. Unfortunately, I can’t complete an order unless it has a complete address, due to the POS system that we have installed.”

Caller: “I’m in a f***ing semi, and I’m f***ing hungry. GET ME A F***ING PIZZA!”

Me: “Unfortunately, I can not complete your order unless you have a complete address. Perhaps you could come pick it up instead?”

Caller: “Well, F*** YOU! I’m in a F***ING SEMI and I’m F***ING HUNGRY! There is no F***ING way I’m driving my F***ING truck all the way out there!”

Me: “Unfortunately, I can not help you there. Besides, Exit 49 is outside of our delivery area. Have a good day, sir.”

(The caller hangs up immediately and I quickly inform my manager. The caller calls back less than a minute later.)

Caller: “I want to order pizza. I’m f***ing hungry!”

Manager: “Were you the one who called earlier, asking for a delivery to a semi?”

Caller: “YES! And the other chick wa—”

Manager: “She does not get paid enough to deal with a**holes like you, and frankly, neither do I. Have a good day!” *click*

Feds arrest ATM thieves after discovering $800,000 stuffed in a suitcase

by Dan Goodin

Federal authorities have arrested five more men accused of taking part in a 21st-century bank heist that siphoned a whopping $45 million out of ATMs around the world in a matter of hours.

Prosecutors said the men charged on Monday were members of the New York-based cell of a global operation and contributed to the $45 million theft by illegally withdrawing $2.8 million from 140 different ATMs in that city. The arrests came after the defendants sent $800,000 in cash proceeds in a suitcase transported by bus to a syndicate kingpin located in Florida, US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Loretta E. Lynch said. Photos seized from one defendant's iPhone showed huge amounts of cash piled on a hotel bed and being stuffed into luggage, she said.

The heists took place during two dates in December 2012 and targeted payment cards issued by the National Bank of Ras Al-Khaimah PSC in the United Arab Emirates and the Bank of Muscat in Oman respectively. Prosecutors dubbed the heists "unlimited" operations because they systematically removed the withdrawal limits normally placed on debit card accounts. These restrictions work as a safety mechanism that caps the amount of loss that banks normally face when something goes wrong. The operation removed the limits by hacking into two companies that processed online payments for the two targeted banks, prosecutors alleged in earlier indictments. Prosecutors didn't identify the payment processors except to say that one was in India and the other was in the United States.

See some of the changes in A Link Between Worlds

by Steven Hansen

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is out this Friday. Anyone who wants their hit of nostalgia early can scope this direct comparison video that places A Link Between Worlds' recreated world side by side with the original A Link to the Past.

I wonder if Chris is still catching enough flak for his "alright" review that I can mention that I prefer A Link to the Past's art style without starting a million comment thread. I appreciate Between Worlds' pretty interiors, but I'm not crazy about its outdoors or 3D characters.

Anyone picking this and Super Mario 3D World up this Friday, or is the Xbox One and its apparently good launch games too tempting?

The 6-Sided Harmonica

by John Farrier

(Photo: Musician's Friend)

This rare musical gem is the 6-sided harmonica. Hohner, an instrument company with a long history of manufacturing harmonicas, accordions and organs, built it during the early Twentieth Century. Here’s what one sounds like:

(Video Link)

The harmonica consists of 6 tremolo harmonicas fused together. The result is a massively expanded tonal range.

BITCOIN SPIKES TO $788

by Sam Ro

The Bitcoin craze keeps getting crazier.

Moments ago, the digital so-called crypto-currency spiked to a high of $788. This is up 51% from its intraday low of $519, according to Bitcoin site Mt. Gox.

Earlier today, the U.S. Senate heard testimonies on the state of digital currencies.

"Presiding Sen. Tom Carper compared the current moment in digital currencies to the early days of the Internet, and Secret Service agent Edward Lowery made an indirect analogy to attitude towards credit cards during their '80s boom," reported BI's Rob Wile.

"[W]hile these types of innovations may pose risks related to law enforcement and supervisory matters, there are also areas in which they may hold long-term promise, particularly if the innovations promote a faster, more secure and more efficient payment system," said Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.

Healthcare.gov site advertising SQL injection attacks

by Neil Stevens (Diary)
D G

what kinds of idiots made this website and why aren't people going to jail for it?!

healthcare injection

Via Alex Hern on Twitter, we find that the Obamacare website has attempted website attacks in its search box, automatically prompted for you if you type or mistype the right letters or punctuation.

This tells us a few things: there is a lack of polish in the Healthcare.gov website, there are many people who want to break into the website, and there isn't much confidence in the security of the website. All of these things should be troubling to people with data in that system.

Composite Shot Of Elbowed Squid's Lengthy Tentacles

long-squid-tentacles.jpg This is a composite photo of the crazy elbowed squid (actually a bigfin squid) captured in that video taken by the Shell Oil Company near one of it's drilling platforms. You remember that video? Of course you don't, I posted that almost five years ago. A lot has happened since then. Friends have come and gone, relationships have bloomed and wilted. But you and I? We've stuck together. We're like family. "I can't stand you." Exactly! And I'm trying to sabotage your life behind your back. Keep going for the original video in case you forgot about it.

I Needed That: 4-Min Of Jerks Getting What They Deserve

karma-police.jpg This is the '2013 instant karma fails' compilation created by Uniformedia. I've had a pretty piss-poor couple of days, so I really needed that. You know how I feel about jerks and @$$hole getting what's coming to them -- that is like, MY THING. Granted in some of the clips I couldn't really tell what was happening, but I could sense the pain, and that's what matters. Keep going for the video, then tell me what the hell happened to cause the explosion in the last one.

Girls Are Assholes: At a Bar

by Georgie

Okay, before you get all huffy and puffy about the title of this post, let me explain…

1. That is the title of this very funny sketch, and not a title I gave it.

2. This is satire.  Girls are not assholes.

3. Girls are not assholes.  This sketch just accurately proves the greatest double-standard of all time– if a guy is not attractive to you and he hits on you, he is creepy.  If a guy is attractive to you and he hits on you, he is super hot and he can do no wrong.

4.  That’s just true.

“Your period ended on Tuesday so you really have no excuse.”  – Let’s face it, if Ryan Gosling said this to you, you would find it hilarious and charming.  YOU KNOW YOU WOULD BECAUSE YOU ONLY SEE WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE, KAREN!

It’s the hoodie.  It’s just the hoodie.

Polaris Sportsman Airless Tire ATV Hits The Market

by Patrick Frye

Polaris Sportsman Airless Tire

The Polaris Sportsman airless tire ATV have hit the market, offering a GI Joe grade quad for us regular Joes.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, ATV’s can be dangerous, as recently seen when a Nebraska teen died in an ATV accident

Airless tires have been rumored for decades, but only recently have they become a distinct possibility. Polaris Sportsman WV850 H.O is the first of it’s kind. It boasts a non-pneumatic tire system (NPT), and is based on military-spec MV850. It also claims a 1,500 pound towing capacity, winching setup purportedly able to lift 3,500 pounds, a 11.75 gallon fuel tank, and a single-speed transmission

But let’s just focus on those rad tires! The airless tires can run for 1,000 miles after a railroad spike and speed away for another 350 miles after taking a hit from a.50 caliber rifle. The Polaris Sportsman presents it’s offering to the target audience of “active Army, National Guard, Reserve, Civilians, Retirees, Government Civilians, Wounded Warriors, Veterans and family members.”

Off-Road division VP David Longren talks about the Polaris Sportsman:

“We have seen great success with NPTs in military and disaster relief scenarios and are excited to bring this technology to the consumer market for extreme work applications.”

The NPT’s are being called “Terrain Armor” and Polaris claims they also offer a lower center of gravity, improving stability and cornering. The tires are made of a tread band in a polymeric web, instead of the standard air filled inner tube. It’s also got a military grade transmission and has standard Electronic Power Steering, shift lever lock, push bumper, steel exoskeleton and wider foot wells. Polaris says they plan to use the NPT for other ATV’s as well.

At $14,995 it can be yours, so you can be ready for anything that life throws your way, including bullets and road spikes, apparently. Quantities will be limited, so preppers beware, you better get one now!

So what do you think; are you going to get your Polaris Sportsman airless tire ATV? The apocalypse might be closer than you think, and one of these could really come in handy!

Burger King Sign Racist? ‘Now Hiring, Must Be Mexican’ [Video]

by Patrick Frye

Burger King Sign Now Hiring Must Be Mexican

A Burger King sign that read, “now hiring, must be Mexican,” has the company apologizing for the alleged racism.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Burger King recently released a Dollar Menu “French Fry Burger.”

After you recover from your 19 grams of fat, 360 calorie French Fry Burger-induced heart attack, brace yourself for the latest in Burger King news. This time the company comes under fire for an offensive sign that was put up by an employee in Ephrata, WA. Burger Ling states the sign was placed by an angry employee without the approval of the franchise.

Burger King updated its Facebook page letting friends know that employees actions were not condoned in any way by the company:

“The sign in question was posted briefly last summer, without approval at a franchise-owned and operated restaurant. Please know the franchisee has informed us that the employee who posted and photographed this sign was immediately terminated as a result. The Burger King team is dedicated to diversity and inclusion.”

But the damage has already been done, and made its rounds of the internet. Burger King has already received negative attention from Mexican people. In 2009, the Texan Whopper used the Mexican flag in advertising, angering the nation and causing commentary from Mexico’s leaders.

Local radio station KFFM held a poll asking listeners if they thought the sign was offensive, to which 80 percent of responders replied yes.

What do you think of the Burger King Sign? Should the company pay for the actions of one employee?
