World Cup Material Here, For Sure
Spotted this video on Tastefully Offensive. They say this is Tsubasa-kun The Penguin, showing off some mad soccer skillz at the Matsue Vogel Aviary Park in Shimane, Japan. And that’s fine. But..we ran the YouTube text through the trusty Google Translate, and got:
It was held the football World Cup Brazil tournament. In order to support the Japanese representative in Matsue Vogel Park, the Samurai Blue uniforms and we have a walk dressed. Meanwhile, I was taken with exceptionally great show playing penguin videos because we (the name is Tsubasa-kun!!) stomach.

Hobbit Sword Glows in the Presence of Unsecured WiFi
(Image: Spark IO)
In The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins owns a sword named Sting. This magic sword glows in the presence of Orcs or goblins. Pictured above is a modern version: the WarSting. It glows when it detects unsecured WiFi networks.
(Image: Warner Bros.)
Spark IO built it into the body of a toy model of Sting. It's an educational tool designed to encourage people to encrypt their WiFi networks. Krista Peryer of Make writes:
And when you slash WarSting through the air near a unsecured Wi-Fi network, WarSting jumps on that network and publishes a message: “{YOUR WI-FI NETWORK} has been vanquished!”

'The Interview' Generated Over $15 Million In Online Sales

Sony announced Sunday night that "The Interview" was downloaded or rented online more than 2 million times, generating over $15 million in sales.
After initially pulling the movie from theaters, Sony decided to release it online instead. "The Interview" premiered December 24 on YouTube, Google Play, Xbox Video, and Sony's own site, SeeTheInterview.com.
On Sunday, Apple made the movie available for rent or purchase on iTunes.
"The Interview" costs $14.99 to own or $5.99 to rent.
A source familiar with the movie's online sales told Business Insider the "vast majority" of rentals and downloads came from Google Play and YouTube.
The movie was also shown in a little over 300 independent movie theaters in the US. The major movie theater chains have refused to show it. It's generated about $3 million in estimated sales at the box office so far.
A week earlier, Sony canceled the Christmas Day premiere of "The Interview" after five of the top theater chains declined to show the movie following threats by a hacker group called Guardians of Peace (GOP). Sony gave no indication the movie would be released at all until President Obama called Sony's decision a "mistake."
Keep in mind this doesn't mean "The Interview" is a success. It cost an estimated $100 million to make, including marketing costs.
Meanwhile, "The Interview" was pirated an estimated 1.5 million times in its first two days, according to Torrent Freak.
Here's the full announcement from Sony:
Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced the total number of online rentals and purchases for The Interview through the first four days of the holiday weekend.
Through Saturday, December 27, including all of its online distribution platforms, The Interview has been rented or purchased online more than 2 million times. Total consumer spending through Saturday for The Interview online is over $15 million.
In addition to the strong turnout for its limited theatrical release over the holiday weekend, after only four days, The Interview already ranks as Sony Pictures #1 online film of all time.
The Interview was made available online across the United States at 10AM PST on Christmas Eve to rent in HD on Google Play, YouTube Movies, Microsoft’s Xbox Video and the dedicated website www.seetheinterview.com at a price of $5.99. The film was also available for purchase in HD for $14.99. Online distribution was expanded to Canada through Google Play, YouTube Movies, Microsoft’s Xbox Video starting later that afternoon.

1977 Datsun 620 King Cab
This 1977 Datsun 620 King Cab wears its original blue California plates and is described as a rust-free driver with some bumps and bruises, the worst of which seem to be confined to the bed and rear bumper. Overall cosmetics are nice for an old truck, and we like that it retains stock hub caps and a decent interior. We’d have seats reupholstered in OEM like materials and lose the tint, however. Find it here on Craigslist in Upland, California for $6,900.

World’s First Transgender Doll? See The Toy That Many Parents Find ‘Shocking’ [Video]
D Gthose sexualizing little kids have a special place in hell reserved for them.
On the surface, the doll being sold in an Argentinian toy shop known as Once seems like a number of any other dolls, with her shiny synthetic hair, brightly colored outfit, large doe eyes, and pursed rosebud smile. But underneath the clothing, many parents are shocked to find what seems like extra genitalia on the doll, causing many to wonder if this is the world’s first transgender doll.
For a picture of the part of the doll that is causing so much controversy, watch the video below.
The toy, which is a “discount” fairy doll marketed under the name of Fashion Happy, is being sold in Argentina, but is actually made in China, and as of now, it is uncertain as to whether what seems to be extra genitalia is intentional on the manufacturer’s side, or if it’s a factory defect.
The mother of a girl who had been gifted one of the dolls posted a picture of the toy online, and said she found it “shocking.” The image, and the story that goes with it, quickly went viral, causing a stir around the country as many weigh in.
Many of the parents in Argentina worry that the transgender doll could somehow influence their child’s sexuality. Others simply find a doll with genitalia to be inappropriate.
One Argentinian parent weighed in on the debate by saying, “It’s very difficult to give an opinion because I’m conscious that it’s a taboo subject in society… but yes, obviously, it’s shocking.”
The transgender community in Argentina, though, support the doll. Many have indicated through newspapers, TV, and radio interviews around the country that the doll could actually be used as a positive representation of sexual diversity for children. Having access to a transgender doll as a child, many in the community note, could have made their own childhoods easier.
As for what sort of impact owning and playing with a transgender doll could have on an actual child, child psychologist Ricardo Rodulfo commented, “It doesn’t matter to a child whether their toy has male genitalia or not.”
He pointed out that it wasn’t the children who were having difficulty accepting a doll with what may be extra genitalia.
“The idea causes more disturbance among adults,” he said.
The so-called “world’s first transgender doll” is still being sold at the toy shop in Argentina.
What do you think? Is the idea of a transgender doll shocking or inappropriate? Is it just a positive way to introduce more diversity, and provide children who may be transgender themselves with a positive outlet and representation?
Or is what clearly looks like male genitalia on an outwardly female doll a factory mistake?
Just last month, another toy stirred controversy when a little girl’s mother purchased a fairy wand, only to find an unexpected and frightening twist to it. To read more about that, click here.
