Asus har tagit sina kameleont- och konvergensenheter till nästa nivå i och med nyss tillkännagivna Transformer Book V. Tillverkaren har lyckats klämma in en Windows 8.1-latop, en Windows-surfplatta, en Androidtelefon, en Androidplatta och en Androidlaptop i en mångfaldig helhetslösning.

Transformer Book V består dels av laptop med HD-upplöst 12,5-tumsskärm. Dess tangentbord kan kopplas bort för att göra enheten till en surfplatta. Genom en särskild hårdvaruknapp kan användare växla mellan Windows Phone 8.1 och Android 4.4 KitKat som operativsystem. Windows 8.1-enheten har uppemot 1TB lagring.

Tredje pusselbiten består av en smartphone med 5-tumsskärm. Telefonen behöver sitta i plattan eller laptopen för att den kunna köra Android som OS, då den utgör hjärnan. Både mobilen och plattan har utrustats med Intel-processorer.

Asus skriver att ”tillgänglighet varierar”, så det återstår att se ifall företagets senaste hybrid når fram till Norden.
