At the Australian Bat Clinic and Wildlife Trauma Centre, Trish Wimberley cares for orphaned bats and “rears them until they can be released into the wild.” The bats in this video were orphaned after a natural disaster.

It’s a tireless, never ending job which keeps her awake all hours (she apparently went 3 nights without sleeping once). A typical day may include feeding (the food is about $1000 a week), health checks, doing their laundry (the dryer and washing machine electricity bill costs up to $8000 every 3 or 4 months!), bat transportation for release — everything they need in order to survive. You’d think she’d need an army of people to help but she makes do with only a few loyal volunteers. It just goes to show, motherhood can transcend between all species and Trish is happy playing that role to assist a creature that is vital to the Australian ecosystem.

“Favorite Memes” is a humorous ode to internet memes done in the style of Journey’s song, “Faithfully.” It was written and directed by David Ward for Humordy and stars Russell Groves as the meme-lovin’ and mustached Steve Perry. The song’s full lyrics are available at YouTube.

Former Journey frontman Steve Perry only recently learned about internet memes. We think he may love them a bit too much.

American designer James Piatt has taken the “Chinese finger trap puzzle” and brought it to his Finger Trap line of handbags (full size, Mini). Fingers can be slipped into the woven leather puzzle handles and “trapped” to carry the bags. The larger version comes with a detachable shoulder strap.

The Chinese finger trap is a common metaphor for a problem that can be overcome by relaxing.

My friends M and Jovino over at Bunnywarez make many cool fashionable furry items at their Oakland, California warehouse including Ninja Bunny hats, stealth black fleece hats that have secret pockets hidden in the ears. Artists Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman of DKNG Studios designed a beautiful Dave Matthews Band gig poster back in December for the band’s show in Ontario, Canada. DKNG Studios has recently released a follow-up art print edition titled Elk that is without show information. A limited edition of 300 prints are available to purchase online.

When we released our Dave Matthews Band Toronto poster, we mentioned that we’d be following it up with an art print edition. We’ve made some minor adjustments to bring out the warm Fall colors of the print and the art print edition is printed on French Speckletone Madero Beach paper.

Italian design studio Santambrogiomilano created this stunning concept for a house that, save for its ground floor, is made entirely of glass. Built of inch thick ultra clear tempered glass, the house is designed to immerse the inhabitants in their surroundings. Variants exist for a variety of natural environments, from woodlands to coasts. The house also serves as a showcase for Santambrogiomilano’s Simplicity line of glass home furnishings.
