How Man Of Steel Should Have Ended
Scientist close to solving the mystery of Colony Collapse Disorder
Scientists have been frantically trying to solve the mystery of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) for the better part of a decade. CCD is a disastrous situation within a bee hive that's basically what it sounds like -- bees start rapidly dying off until there is no longer sufficient population to sustain the colony. A newly published study from the University of Maryland and the US Department of Agriculture may point to the cause, and it’s more complicated than expected.

37 Conversation Rules for Gentlemen (1875)
The Art of Manliness has reprinted "37 Conversation Rules for Gentlemen" from a 1875 book entitled, A Gentleman’s Guide to Etiquette by Cecil B. Hartley. The rules are still valid!
33. When asking questions about persons who are not known to you, in a drawing-room, avoid using adjectives; or you may enquire of a mother, “Who is that awkward, ugly girl?” and be answered, “Sir, that is my daughter.”

Breakfast of Catan [Pic]
These appropriately named Settlers of the Noms: Breakfast O Rama breakfast plates come from the people over at the Kitchen Overlord blog.
All three of these edible Settlers of Catan boards are meant for a leisurely brunch afternoon full of gaming goodness. The host should be able to put the boards together before anyone arrives and let friends nom off them all day. If you’re a really good host, you’ll leave a big bowl of waffle batter next to a waffle iron and let people make fresh ones (as I call it, “hotel style”) whenever they’re in the mood.
Stan Lee's Signature Fragrance Now Available
Welcome to the GeekTyrant Shopping Network. Today, we're excited to bring you a brand new product that is strong enough for a superhero, but made for mere mortals.
From JADS International, makers of the Avengers-inspired fragrances you know and love, comes 'Nuff Said, a fragrance inspired by the man, the myth, the mustachioed comic book legend, Stan Lee!
We know what you're thinking, "Finally! Ever since I was a child I've wanted to smell like a 90-year old man." Well, the wait is over, true believers. Until now, the smell of gray chest hair, rusty sunglasses, and sunblock slathered on 50 years too late was only possible with the passing of many years spent unwilling to take a respectable step out of the spotlight.
According to JADS, the fragrance "possesses crisp blends of bergamot, ginger, white pepper, basil, and violet layered in with accords of cedar, vetiver, and musk." Translation: The smell is so repugnant that your human torch won't be making any cameo appearances any time soon.
'Nuff Said will be available through JADS' website and at Comic-Con International and Wizard World shows for the low, low price of $24.99. It's hard to put a price on something you just absolutely don't need.
Oh my gosh! I can't believe we're doing this, we must be out of our minds. If you order in the next thirty minutes, we'll murder your uncle, blast you with gamma radiation, and throw radioactive waste in your eyes… absolutely free. Act now!
Brutally Honest Posters for Classic Disney Animated Films
Here's a funny series of posters for some of Disney's classic animated films that gives us a brutally honest title based on the themes of the story. They highlight the content, stereotypes, and tropes of the films. The posters come from Christine Gritmon and Nick Nadel of TheFW.
The site makes a note that "beneath the saccharine surfaces of these fluffy romances lies some truly disturbing content." Check them out...

MAN OF STEEL Sequel Officially Moving Forward!
Warner Bros. is officially moving forward with a Man of Steel sequel! It's not really a big surprise. It was bound to happen. The first movie has been getting a ton of positive buzz. I haven't seen it myself yet, but after everything that I've seen and heard I can't freakin' wait!
The studio has put the sequel on the fast-track, and Zack Snyder and David S. Goyer will be back to direct and write the film. There's no word on if Christopher Nolan will be involved as a producer or not, but I'm sure he'll be around to give them notes on what they will be developing. The report also says Goyer has a three picture deal with the studio, which also includes Justice League! So he's writing that one as well.
I'm glad we are going to see a Man of Steel sequel before the studio starts work on a Justice League film. They really need to build up the world a little bit more. It would be cool if this sequel ended up including Batman. That movie definitely needs to happen before Justice League.
Are you excited to hear Warner Bros. is moving fast to get a Man of Steel sequel into theaters? Hopefully they do take the time they need to make another great Superman film.

The Reason We Need a New Superman Movie Is Because the Last One Sucked
Studios make movies so they can fill seats to print money to make more movies to fill more seats to print more money. And the easiest way to start printing money is to go with an established movie franchise. Like Superman! But the real reason we need a new Superman movie (as opposed to needing a new Spider-Man movie) is because the last one, Superman Returns, was so bad. Sure a little money for the studio wouldn't hurt either but just watch everything that was wrong with it in 6 minutes. It's A LOT going bad. Hopefully Man of Steel fixes it! [CinemaSins]

How IRON MAN 3 Should Have Ended - Hilarious Animated Video
The team over at How It Should Have Ended have taken on Iron Man 3, and they give us their humorous vision of how the Shane Black-directed movie should have ended. This one had me busting up laughing. I think it's the best one these guys have created. They point out the obvious and add some great comedy. I love how they point out that the plot is the same as The Incredibles. Watch it for yourself and let us know what you think!
10 Beautiful Minerals You Won't Believe Are Found on Earth
We've all seen our fair share of rocks, and most of them aren't that pretty. The ones that are though, can be totally mind-blowing. Ryoji Tanaka, a Japanese photographer and chemist, likes to capture some of the most striking elements, minerals, and compounds in close-up (like the Uranium-containing cuprosklodowskite you see above) and the results are crazy awesome.
So How Does Superman Shave Anyway? He Has a Super Beard!
Just the other day I was having a conversation with my friend about Man of Steel, and how Clark Kent goes from a bearded seafaring crabber from Deadliest Catch to a clean shaven superhero. This naturally brought up the question... how did Superman shave that beard, because his hair is super hair!
Remember when Lex Luthor cut Superman's hair with a pair of bolt cutters? The hair was supporting 1,000 pounds, technically that hair shouldn't have even been able to be cut with bolt cutters.
Gillette has teamed up with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment for a cross promotion to give us answers. They've also enlisted the help of director Kevin Smith, Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman (MythBusters), Bill Nye the Science Guy, and Mayim Bialik (neuroscientist and Big Bang Theory actress), who each present their own theories in a series of videos that you can watch below.
I would think he'd need some kind of Kryptonite razor, but then, as director Zack Snyder has said, there will be no Kryptonite in Man of Steel, so that has to be thrown out. Check out the theories below, let us know what one you like best, and if you have any other ideas, throw them out there at us!
Will Smith Breaks Out into FRESH PRINCE Theme Song Rap
Will Smith and his son Jaden recently appeared on BBC One's The Graham Norton Show to promote their upcoming sci-fi film After Earth. In the middle of the interview, the host asked them to do a little musical number. Smith introduced DJ Jazzy Jeff and broke out into the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song! Then Alfonso Ribeiro shows up for a little song and dance reunion. For those of you who grew up watching this classic TV series, this is sure to be a treat for you.

Star Trek Into Darkness: The Spoiler FAQ
Jim*SPOILERS* But funny.
After making a mere $84 million at the U.S. box office, Star Trek Into Darkness is considered by some to be a disappointment. Perhaps the problem is that it was a touch confusing. To help our readers better understand it, we've complied and answered these Frequently Asked Questions about the movie.
Badass New Trailer for RIDDICK!
Remember the days when we used to see a new Riddick photo ever day? Well, it's been awhile since we've seen anything from the film, but Universal Pictures has hit us with an awesome new trailer for Vin Diesel's sci-fi adventure. The trailer is two and a half minutes long, and it's packed to the brim with extremely cool footage! I think you're going to enjoy this. I seriously can't wait to see this movie.
The David Twohy-directed also stars Karl Urban, Jordi Mollà, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Bokeem Woodbine, Raoul Trujillo, and Nolan Gerard Funk.
Riddick, the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000’s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.
The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.
The movie hits theaters on September 8th, 2013! Enjoy the new trailer!
