by Jim Rossignol
Euxinus

Claro claro... si ja era una merda... Ara més... I no pels Ewoks, si no perque eren una raça molt poc coneguda fins RotJ...

Reports have appeared on our Ewok-o-tron that suggests Ewoks will soon be available as companion characters in SWTOR, via the 2.3 patch. To unlock the ‘wok, you need 1 million space cash and a legacy level of 40, apparently. Tweek, for that is her Ewok name, will be a tanky/healer sort of companion. That, I know, will make someone in this world very happy.

You can watch said Ewok in action below. Spoilers of a kind, natch.

Don't hold your breath for Hellboy 3 after all

There's a notion going around today that Legendary Pictures, which put out both Pacific Rim and Guillermo del Toro's forthcoming movie Crimson Peak, could be doing Hellboy 3 as well. Del Toro fueled this notion with his comments to one reporter today — but Legendary founder Thomas Tull tells us it's not likely.

Marvel Heroes, Star Wars, Harry Potter...

Remember when you used to jumble up all your LEGO playsets and make your own pretend cross-franchise stories? They are making that into a movie.

Nvidia Shield now $300 before launch, available June 27

by Alexander Sliwinski
Nvidia's Shield handheld is dropping a Grant before it even hits the streets. The company announced this morning that the overpriced (see, we can say it now because they clearly agreed) portable will cut $50 from its original asking price of $350.

The company also revealed this morning that the device will be available on June 27. As Engadget notes, the device can be obtained from Nvidia's official website and we're still waiting to hear about supporting retailers. Our hands-on time with the handheld went well, but so does our time with the $170 Nintendo 3DS and the $250 PlayStation Vita.

Are Paul Krugman's 1996 predictions about 2096 already coming true?

by Charlie Jane Anders

Are Paul Krugman's 1996 predictions about 2096 already coming true?

Back in 1996, economist Paul Krugman wrote an essay about the next 100 years of economic history, as if looking back from the year 2096. At the center of that essay was the notion that white-collar jobs would disappear, and a college education would become much less valuable. And is this already happening now?

Build A Better-Than-Xbox-One/PS4 PC For £500

by Alec Meer

Well, don’t take that entirely literally. I’m just writing that to get your attention and/or I can’t think of a more accurate way to do it within the character limit. Obviously you can’t build your own Xbox One or PlayStation 4 – they use some custom hardware not available to PC-builders to do their next-generation thing, they’re running bespoke operating systems (and all the horror-DRM that goes with it) and contain it all with in a comparatively small black monolith that sits underneath your TV. Additionally, console games can be made to specific hardware requirements, which can entail a far great degree of optimisation than trying to target a hundred thousand million different PC configs. No matter what the console generation, the PC comparison can never be an exact one. What you can do, though, is build yourself a PC that has a little more grunt under the hood than these apparent future-machines, for pretty much the same amount of money.

To be honest, while hitting the £420 price of an Xbone is eminently possible, I’d recommend you spend just a little more on a games PC than that – it’ll last you longer, there’s more scope for upgrading later, games will look fancier and you won’t have to spend a week trawling price comparison sites. Either way, the idea that a beefy games PC costs thousands of dollars/pounds is an outdated and wildly inaccurate one.

Massive collection of Akira concept art shows the movie that never was

Up until now, we've only seen scattered images of Hollywood's whitewashed vision for Akira. But with the movie adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo's Manga dead in the water the internet has become a dumping ground of Akira concept art. Including this completely insane first look at Tetsuo's big climax. We have no idea how they could have pulled this scene off. Check it out.

The premiere of the new Man of Steel in theaters is only a couple of days away, so graphic designer Kate Willaert, sponsored by HalloweenCostumes.com, thought this would be a great time to put together this visual history of Superman's iconic 'S' shield, from its beginnings, 75 years go, to the present day.
