Neill Blomkamp's brand new film Elysium uses incredible visuals to give you a concrete sense of the wealthy elite enjoying their lives in space, while everybody else struggles in the slums on Earth. And some newly released concept art gives you a clearer sense than ever of just how this works. Including art by Syd Mead!

Last weekend, when the casting for Oberyn Martell, the A Song of Ice and Fire character commonly known as the Red Viper of Dorne, was announced, many commented that the actor was fairer skinned than they had anticipated the character would be.

This year is all about the book adaptation. Game of Thrones, Warm Bodies, Beautiful Creatures and World War Z (sort of) were all books first! So here is our extensive guide to just about every movie and TV series turning your favorite book into a live-action wonder. Get out your reading lists so you too can say "the book was better."
EuxinusClaro claro... si ja era una merda... Ara més... I no pels Ewoks, si no perque eren una raça molt poc coneguda fins RotJ...

Reports have appeared on our Ewok-o-tron that suggests Ewoks will soon be available as companion characters in SWTOR, via the 2.3 patch. To unlock the ‘wok, you need 1 million space cash and a legacy level of 40, apparently. Tweek, for that is her Ewok name, will be a tanky/healer sort of companion. That, I know, will make someone in this world very happy.
You can watch said Ewok in action below. Spoilers of a kind, natch.

There's a notion going around today that Legendary Pictures, which put out both Pacific Rim and Guillermo del Toro's forthcoming movie Crimson Peak, could be doing Hellboy 3 as well. Del Toro fueled this notion with his comments to one reporter today — but Legendary founder Thomas Tull tells us it's not likely.

The New York Times revealed the cover and new title for Neil Gaiman's Sandman comic, now titled Overture, about the circumstances that led Dream to getting so easily captured in Sandman #1. It's also the spearhead for Vertigo's attempt to rebuild itself as DC's home for its most daring, artistic works.
Marvel Heroes, Star Wars, Harry Potter...

Remember when you used to jumble up all your LEGO playsets and make your own pretend cross-franchise stories? They are making that into a movie.

We introduced you some of the weirdest aircraft of the 20th century before, but now it's time to talk about Earth's fleets of flying saucers. Check out these vehicles and concepts that show how we've been building UFOs all along.

We've seen Andrew Stanton's vision for John Carter of Mars, but what if Pixar made CG animated versions of Flash Gordon, Dick Tracy, and other pulp stories?

A whole host of pieces have been revealed for next month's Celebration Europe Art Show, showcasing some of the coolest Star Wars fan art from artists around the world... although there's something playfully ironic about depicting George Lucas as the Dark Lord of the Sith in a work designed to celebrate the legacy of Star Wars.

It's been less than a week since the Game of Thrones third season finale, and everyone is still delivering their postmortems on everything from the role of power in the series to its uncomfortable racial themes. Vulture, on the other hand, has taken a goofier route, explaining Season Three through the blood magic of diagrams. Spoilers, of course.

Redditor Sartro quizzed his Father right after the season finale of Game of Thrones on the names of each character. The results are priceless.

Back in 1996, economist Paul Krugman wrote an essay about the next 100 years of economic history, as if looking back from the year 2096. At the center of that essay was the notion that white-collar jobs would disappear, and a college education would become much less valuable. And is this already happening now?

Well, don’t take that entirely literally. I’m just writing that to get your attention and/or I can’t think of a more accurate way to do it within the character limit. Obviously you can’t build your own Xbox One or PlayStation 4 – they use some custom hardware not available to PC-builders to do their next-generation thing, they’re running bespoke operating systems (and all the horror-DRM that goes with it) and contain it all with in a comparatively small black monolith that sits underneath your TV. Additionally, console games can be made to specific hardware requirements, which can entail a far great degree of optimisation than trying to target a hundred thousand million different PC configs. No matter what the console generation, the PC comparison can never be an exact one. What you can do, though, is build yourself a PC that has a little more grunt under the hood than these apparent future-machines, for pretty much the same amount of money.
To be honest, while hitting the £420 price of an Xbone is eminently possible, I’d recommend you spend just a little more on a games PC than that – it’ll last you longer, there’s more scope for upgrading later, games will look fancier and you won’t have to spend a week trawling price comparison sites. Either way, the idea that a beefy games PC costs thousands of dollars/pounds is an outdated and wildly inaccurate one.

Up until now, we've only seen scattered images of Hollywood's whitewashed vision for Akira. But with the movie adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo's Manga dead in the water the internet has become a dumping ground of Akira concept art. Including this completely insane first look at Tetsuo's big climax. We have no idea how they could have pulled this scene off. Check it out.

Eric Guzman decided to combine his two favorite comic book characters—Spider-Man and Batman—into a single mutant animal-themed hero. And he just kept going, coming up with Spider-Bat's rogues gallery and more DC/Marvel mashed-up heroes.
