So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

After twelve years, I have decided to bring the Dueling Analogs website to a close. This was not an easy decision. In fact, it has been something I have been mulling over for at least three or four years now. Based on where I am and what I want to accomplish, this felt like the right time.

When I originally started Dueling Analogs back in 2006, it was exclusively a gaming webcomic website. This continued until early 2010, but by then my free time and desire to exclusively create gaming-related comics began to wain. In order to compensate, the site began to aggregate other gaming related content. Inevitably, I quit making new comics for the site altogether. Which brings us to today.

My love for video games has never ceased. In fact, it is partially due to my love of video games that I am doing this. Over the past year, I have moved towards the realm of creating video games. This is a passion that I hope to continue for many years to come. But, creating games takes a lot of time, and free time is not something I have in abundance. Hence this decision.

I will not take the website down, but I am not planning to update it after today, either. If you still want to follow me, I am on Twitter @pierski. While I do not comment very much on there, I am still on there daily. So don’t hesitate to reach out if you want.

A lot has changed over the past decade, but my appreciation for the support I have received over the years has never been one of them. Thank you for making this an experience to remember.

The Great Debate

I have never completed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. So I can neither confirm nor deny this comic's opinion. That said, I have definitely played Breath of the Wild more than any other Zelda title released in the few decades. I also know I have beaten A Link to the Past more times than any other game in the series. Actually, I think I have completed The Adventure of Link more times that the original game. Sorry, I am just rambling...

Advice

That is something that has always bothered me when I see some people dating. In the beginning, they try to act like the person they "think" their partner wants to be. Unfortunately, this act cannot last forever and inevitably their true personality appears. After their relationship ends, they wonder what went wrong when things started off so well in the beginning. Later, the cycle begins anew.

When I was a kid, someone told me the end of The Giver was ambiguous, which surprised me. I had just assumed Jonah died--because the book had a medal on the cover, and I knew grown-ups liked stories where sad stuff happens at the end for no reason.

Most parents photograph or film their children growing up, but James Breakwell (previously here and here) has another way of documenting the precious moments he shares with his 4 daughters. Since April 2016, the comedy writer and family man from Indianapolis uses Twitter to share the daily conversations he has with his girls.

With over 1M followers and counting, James claims that his little ones love the attention. “They like what I do on Twitter mainly because it’s all about them,” Breakwell told Buzzfeed. “On one hand, Twitter makes me a better father because I spend more time with my kids.
