The Arizona House voted yesterday to pass Senate Concurrent Resolution 1037, setting official requirements for the use of electronic voting machines in the state and banning the use of some.
The resolution passed in the Arizona Senate on March 6 by a vote of 16-13.
On Thursday, March 30, The Arizona House joined the Senate and voted 31-27 in favor.
This resolution will bypass the Governor and go directly to the Secretary of State’s office. If the Secretary of State and Arizona Counties do not comply with this new rule, the Legislature can and likely will sue.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the Arizona Senate Elections Committee, chaired by State Senator Wendy Rogers, passed the amended resolution introduced by State Senator Anthony Kern.
State Senator Sonny Borrelli’s strike everything amendment set official requirements for the voting machines to ensure all levels of production occur in the United States, source code is made publicly available, and directing the Secretary of State to post ballot images, chain of custody documents, and log files on their website within 24 hours after polls close.

2. The source code used in any computerized voting machine for federal elections is made available to the public; and
3. The ballot images and system log files from each tabulator are recorded on a secure write-once, read-many media with clear chain of custody and posted on the Secretary of State’s website free of charge to the public within twenty-four hours after the close of the polls; and
4. The legislature transmits this resolution to the secretary of state.”
The House Bill Summary states, “the Secretary of State is charged with appointing a committee to investigate and test the various types of vote tabulating machines. The committee submits its recommendations to the Secretary of State who will then decide the make or model to be certified for use in the state.”

Elon Musk and dozens of other technology leaders asked artificial intelligence developers to put a temporary pause on AI training to limit dangers to humanity.
Musk and the others released an open letter on Wednesday warning about the advances of AI. The tech moguls implored AI labs to take at least six months off from training AI systems that are more powerful than GPT-4, OpenAI's latest version of the software. Musk was joined by other tech industry veterans, academics, and high-profile people, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Pinterest founder Evan Sharp, and former 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
"Contemporary AI systems are now becoming human-competitive at general tasks, and we must ask ourselves: Should we let machines flood our information channels with propaganda and untruth?" the letter argued. "Should we automate away all the jobs, including the fulfilling ones? Should we develop nonhuman minds that might eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us? Should we risk loss of control of our civilization?"
"We call on all AI labs to immediately pause for at least six months the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4," the letter requested. "This pause should be public and verifiable and include all key actors. If such a pause cannot be enacted quickly, governments should step in and institute a moratorium."
OpenAI revealed GPT-4, the latest version of its chatbot, on March 14. The bot offers more complex and faster responses than its predecessor and the ability to use images as inputs. It was also incorporated into an assortment of products, including Salesforce and Bing.
Musk called AI "one of the biggest risks" to civilization at a February appearance at the World Government Summit.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has said that risk is in AI. "We've got to be careful here. I think people should be happy that we are a little bit scared of this," he said recently.

Even if TikTok were not directly tied to the Chinese Communist Party, it'd continue to be an object of concern. The social media app is horribly toxic and has contributed to addiction, increased rates of depression, and even sociogenic illnesses among children and young adults.
It should come as no surprise that TikTok’s effects are so perverse, considering its content. Users are regularly exposed to sexual, racist, and violent videos on the app, as a new report from Asia Grace revealed this week.
In the report, Grace said she created a TikTok account recently, posing as a 14-year-old boy in order to discover what she would be exposed to as a male teenager in America who used the app passively. The results were troubling. Grace said the algorithm TikTok presented to her included videos of men verbally degrading women’s appearances. One video that popped up on Grace’s feed was titled “Calling my girlfriend the ‘B’ word for her reaction.” Another clip featuring social media personality Andrew Tate, who has described himself as a proud misogynist, included the caption, “Do women like getting murdered?”
Grace also encountered videos in which young men mocked Asian accents and joked about killing orphans and hanging black people, according to the report.
This is the kind of content America’s children are being inundated with every single day on TikTok. More than 67% of teenagers ages 13 to 17 use TikTok regularly, according to the Pew Research Center, with 16% saying they use it constantly.
Of course, TikTok isn’t the only social media platform negatively affecting children. But it is certainly the most popular platform among this demographic, and therefore, it needs to be taken seriously.
The government certainly has the power to take action to limit TikTok’s influence. In fact, a bipartisan bill that would ban TikTok in the United States appears to have the support of President Joe Biden. But ultimately, the responsibility to protect children from TikTok’s pernicious effects lies with parents. And regardless of whether Washington decides to act, families should — and quickly.
