Calling the death of a 12-year-old Tamir Rice at the hands of police on a Cleveland playground last year a "perfect storm of human error," Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty announced on Monday that a grand jury had declined to indict any officers for his killing.

Rice, who had been playing with a toy gun at the city's Cudell Recreation Center that day in November 2014, was killed by Officer Timothy Loehmann when he fired two shots almost immediately upon rolling up in a cruiser with his partner, Frank Garmback. Family members and activists have been clamoring for murder charges ever since. But McGinty—who has been sharply criticized for a bevy of publicly-revealed expert reports suggesting the shooting was justified—did not recommend that jurors press murder charges, and insisted at a Monday press conference the video evidence that the child was reaching for his replica gun at the time of the incident was "indisputable."

Therefore, McGinty told reporters, Loehmann—who was forced out of at a previous policing gig when he lost his shit during a gun drill—was not criminally liable.

"The death of Tamir Rice was an absolute tragedy but it was not, by the law that binds us, a crime," he said Monday, adding that he informed the child's mother of the decision before going public. "It was a tough conversation... She was broken up."

The 9-1-1 caller who spurred the initial police attention to the park that day told the dispatcher the suspect was likely a kid and the gun "probably fake," but those key details never reached Loehmann and Garmback. Now Rice's family, which released its own reports suggesting the shooting was not justified, is left to hope that the feds get involved with a case of their own. That's not impossible, given the consent decree reached between the city and the Department of Justice over past police excesses in Cleveland, but for now, the yearlong investigation represents one of the more glaring instances of American prosecutors being reluctant to indict cops.

We’re a bit shocked at how across-the-board the genre-dressing is for this red carpet. Practically every lady who showed up seems to have spent time trying to interpret the world of Star Wars through styling. Janelle’s version is impressive as hell, even if it does cross the line into costume. If nothing else, we have to salute her for being the one lady so far to say “To hell with your princess crap. I’m going full on Dark Lord.”

The-Dream announced his latest project on Twitter and Instagram, a Sam Cooke cover album dedicated to his mother, entitled IAMSAM. The caption read:

My Mother loved a lot of Artist growing up, but the one we shared the most interest in together was Sam Cooke, so Tonight I give him back to her. These songs were originally recording during the making of @beyonce 's 4 album in 2010 w my good Friend Pat Thrall. My mother passed on the 23rd day of December in 1992."

The album includes some real heartbreaking Sam Cooke hits like "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "Bring It on Home." Honestly, the whole thing is pretty great. If we had to guess, we'd say Sam Cooke would enjoy it, as would The-Dream's mom.

James Franco's The Disaster Artist starting filming yesterday, apparently triggering a collective remembering among actors that they told James Franco they would appear in The Disaster Artist. In addition to James and Dave Franco, the making-of–The Room film will apparently feature Hannibal Buress, Kate Upton, and Ari Graynor, and probably 1,200 other actors by the time you finish reading this paragraph. Oh yeah, Josh Hutcherson joined the film last week, and Zac Efron will also cameo as a drug dealer. Was James Franco so in character as Tommy Wiseau, he couldn't open his eyes wide enough to see how many friends he CC'ed on his "Want to be in The Disaster Artist??" group text? Franco posted a photo of himself in character as Wiseau yesterday, and I know "not opening his eyes" is his thing, but this might be his squinting masterpiece.

Hello Everyone. I did some damage this month. One of my co-workers took me to Primark. Which I have never been to. I ended up by a good amount of clothes from there. Which I have worn almost everything all ready.  Then of course there was my London trip this month. So I brought a few thing from there.  

This month I got the prefect red necklace that I have been wanting. Which I have worn it already 3 times. So I glad I got it.  The last photo is some long sleeve shirt that Ant order for me from Amazon. I told him I wanted some sweaters. Also he got me a couple more lipstick from Smashbox. Since he knew I fall in love with them. 

For the month of December I plan on not buying any clothes.  So we will have to wait to see how that goes.
