Con un ventilador casero al que se le acopla una plataforma y una pequeña cámara GoPro que graba a alta velocidad (unos pocos cientos de euros, o menos si ya tienes alguno de los componentes) se pueden montar escenas en bullet-time, el famoso efecto de «tiempo bala» popularizado en The Matrix.

En otro reciente vídeo Matrix alternativo resolvieron la situación con no menos ingenio y más o menos el mismo presupuesto; lo bueno de este montaje es que puede servir para realizar un tipo de tomas semi-profesionales realmente resultonas, la verdad.

La demostración está grabada en concreto con una GoPro Hero 3 a 240 fps y sin Twixtor; la película está un poco tuneada para mejorar la calidad con After Effects.

Disunion - The guillotine simulator utiliza gafas 3D inmersivas de videojuegos para simular lo que (se supone) se experimenta al ser guillotinado y la cabeza sale volando por ahí.

En el vídeo no se percibe muy bien el efecto, pero sí las reacciones de los guillotinados virtualmente. Vía Geek.com.

Love the looseness of these drawings. Might be a good exercise to try switching hands every once and while. Forces you to think about shape and over all design rather than surfacey stuff like line and texture.

Nuevo sencillo de Gogol Bordello

Después de su último disco Transcontinental Hustle de 2010, el punk gitano de Gogol Bordello regresará este mes de julio. A través de ATO Records/Casa Gogol Records, la banda de Nueva York lanzará su nuevo LP titulado Pura Vida Conspiracy y producido por Andrew Sheps. De esta nueva producción ya se puede escuchar el primer sencillo “Malandrino”, sólo entren aquí.

Pura Vida Conspiracy saldrá a la venta el 23 de julio.

El productor francés, Vitalic, presenta su nuevo video, correspondiente a la canción “Fade Away”. Durante cuatro minutos con 40 segundos, Vitalic nos tiene al borde de nuestra silla mientras vemos a varios personajes pelearse por un misterioso maletín. Al final, el secreto se mantiene a salvo. El cortometraje dirigido por Romain Chassaing acompaña muy bien a los sintetizadores del productor galo, mírenlo a continuación.

Apropos of Eskimo, I once heard a missionary describe the extraordinary difficulty he had found in translating the Bible into Eskimo. It was useless to talk of corn or wine to a people who did not know even what they meant, so he had to use equivalents within their powers of comprehension.
